20110233341Hybrid emergency ejection system - An emergency escape sequence for a commercial aircraft is shown. Individual pods that are separable from the aircraft are ejected individually, following the separation and ejection of the upper cabin from the fuselage. Parachutes are deployed to assist in the safe descent of the pods. Airbags are also deployed to soften the landing and provide flotation in case of a water landing.09-29-2011
20120175465Capsule Spacecraft Emergency Landing System - A method of landing a capsule-spacecraft having a crew compartment containing crew, light cargo, and whatever other elements are associated with crew safety and comfort during emergency recovery, such as survival equipment and a service component including any propulsion components, heat shield, heavier structure, or other equipment not directly connected with the crew component. In the event of a propulsion system failure, the crew compartment component is immediately separated from the service component, either by automatic or crew action. One or more parachutes are then deployed by rapid methods, such as rocket extraction, from the crew compartment. Because the space craft is separated into two parts the weight of the parachutes is reduced in proportion as the weight of the crew compartment is to the total capsule-spacecraft.07-12-2012

20080258011DECELERATION PLATFORM - A platform for the aerial delivery of payloads into aquatic environments has a staged v cross-section formed by two walls extending from an end part. The portions of the two walls adjacent to the end part diverge from it at an angle θ and, together with the end part, form the tip of the platform. The remaining portions of the two walls, remote from the end part, form the body of the platform, and diverge at an angle φ that is greater than the angle θ. When the platform is deployed onto the surface of a fluid, it initially experiences a period of low deceleration as the tip penetrates the surface, followed by a period of higher deceleration, as the body contacts the surface.10-23-2008
20100237197Rocket ejection delay apparatus and/or method - An ejection delay system, apparatus and/or method including an electronic ejection delay system having an ignition device; a power source connected to the ignition device; and, a flight parameter sensor switch electrically connected to the power source to initiate the provision of power from the power source to the ignition device; the electronic ejection delay system being disposed in some implementations in a housing system including a housing; a forward closure for closing the top end of the housing; and, an aft closure for closing the aft end of the housing. Also disclosed is a method for ejecting a rocket recovery system in flight; including sensing a parameter associated with flight; and, initiating deployment of a recovery system.09-23-2010
20110240800IMPACT ATTENUATION SYSTEM AND METHOD - Methods and systems for impact force attenuation reduce the time, expense, and material utilized in connection with aerial delivery of a payload. An impact attenuation system comprises a first airbag coupled to an aerial delivery platform, a gas source coupled to the first airbag, and a first pressure release valve coupled to the first airbag. Via use of an impact attenuation system, a payload may be more quickly rigged for aerial delivery, and more quickly extracted from an aerial delivery platform subsequent to the airdrop. Additionally, rebound, rollover, and other undesirable ground impact conditions may be reduced and/or eliminated.10-06-2011
20140353431SOFT LANDINGS SYSTEM FOR A LOAD IN FREE FALL, IN PARTICULAR FOR A VEHICLE, SUCH AS A PILOTED VEHICLE WITHOUT A DRIVER ON BOARD - A soft landing system (12-04-2014
20090272852Aerial Delivery Device - An aerial delivery device which includes a carrier configured to carry an item for delivery, and one or more wings attached to the carrier and arranged to extend therefrom; wherein said aerial delivery device is configured to provide a controlled aerial descent under gravity, such that during the descent the aerial delivery device, or the or each wing, auto rotates.11-05-2009
