20110240375 | DOWNHOLE APPARATUS - A double-acting compounder is disclosed, comprising: an outer housing; an inner mandrel at least partially disposed telescopically within the outer housing to define a fluid chamber between the inner mandrel and the outer housing, the fluid chamber containing fluid and being sealed at an uphole end and a downhole end; an equalizer between the fluid chamber and an exterior of the outer housing for equalizing pressure; a movable seal assembly disposed within the fluid chamber and having a first end that defines the uphole end or the downhole end of the fluid chamber; the inner mandrel having an outer shoulder for contacting a second end of the movable seal assembly to move the movable seal assembly with the inner mandrel when the inner mandrel moves in a first direction relative to the outer housing to compresses fluid within the fluid chamber; and the outer housing having an inner shoulder for contacting the second end of the movable seal assembly to prevent the movable seal assembly from moving with the inner mandrel when the inner mandrel moves in a second direction relative to the outer housing to compresses fluid within the fluid chamber. The equalizer may comprise an equalization piston, and the double-acting compounder may comprise a restrictor for restricting initial movement of the movable seal assembly from both the inner shoulder and the outer shoulder due to hydrostatic pressure when the double-acting compounder is in a neutral position. The restrictor keeps the movable seal assembly from moving first and allows the equalizer piston to move and establish hydrostatic pressure in the fluid chamber. Thus, the movable seal assembly is kept in a neutral position and full stroke up and down is preserved, making the tool more efficient relative to a compounder without such an equalizer. | 10-06-2011 |
20130092447 | Downhole Tool Impact Dissipating Tool - An impact dissipation tool for supporting a downhole tool in downhole applications. The tool includes a base and a housing. The tool also includes a carriage located within the housing and coupled to the base, the carriage being movable relative to the housing upon a predetermined impact force. A dissipator disposed inside the housing is collapsible due to the relative movement of the carriage and the housing. The collapse of the dissipator dissipates the impact force transferred to the downhole tool. | 04-18-2013 |

20160145950 | ROCK DRILL TELESCOPIC ARM AND ROCK DRILL - A rock drill telescopic arm is provided having a fixed arm which is sleeved on a movable arm; a telescopic oil cylinder; a plurality of adjusting blocks in the fixed arm along a circumferential direction thereof; a plurality of adjusting screw rods for respectively adjusting the position of each of the adjusting blocks on the fixed arm; a wear-resistant sliding block between at least part of the adjusting blocks and the movable arm; and a retainer at an opening end of the fixed arm for preventing the wear-resistant sliding block from moving along a telescoping direction of the movable arm, wherein the movable arm can be driven by the telescopic oil cylinder to slide along the wear-resistant sliding block. A rock drill equipped with the rock drill telescopic arm provides for convenient adjustment of a gap between the fixed arm and the movable arm. | 05-26-2016 |

20130056283 | System and Method for Vibration in a Drill String - A system for damping vibration in a drill string can include a valve assembly having a supply of a fluid, a first member, and a second member capable of moving in relation to first member in response to vibration of the drill bit. The first and second members define a first and a second chamber for holding the fluid. Fluid can flow between the first and second chambers in response to the movement of the second member in relation to the first member. The valve assembly can also include a coil or a valve for varying a resistance of the fluid to flow between the first and second chambers. | 03-07-2013 |
