20080314583 | Retrievable Bridge Plug - Retrievable bridge plug used in oil and gas wells comprises a setting and anchoring mechanism, a locking and releasing mechanism and a sealing and anti-adhering mechanism. The bridge plug in which a self-lock mechanism is placed can be lowered through an coiled tubing or wireline, and provide reliable bi-directional sealing, and can be taken out by a specific tool after setting, in order to be used repeatedly after simple maintenance. By replacing its mandrel, the bridge plug can be refitted into a squeezing bridge plug, a conventional one and a hook-wall bridge plug to be used in a temporary/permanent and selective blocking operation. Also, the bridge plug can be associated with other downhole tools to perform well test, layer protection and snubbing. | 12-25-2008 |
20090071642 | DOWNHOLE TRIGGER APPARATUS - A selectively operable timing device is in operable communication with a force reducing mechanism. The timing device restrains an effect of an external force on a tool member through the force reducing mechanism. | 03-19-2009 |
20110132596 | Wellbore Method and Apparatus For Completion, Production and Injection - Apparatus associated with the production of hydrocarbons comprising a joint assembly comprising a main body portion having primary and secondary fluid flow paths, wherein the main body portion is attached to a load sleeve assembly at one end and a torque sleeve assembly at the opposite end. The load sleeve may include at least one transport conduit and at least one packing conduit. The main body portion may include a sand control device, a packer, or other well tool for use in a downhole environment. Included is a coupling assembly having a manifold region in fluid flow communication with the second fluid flow path of the main body portion and facilitating the make-up of first and second joint assemblies with a single connection. | 06-09-2011 |
20130153207 | Subterranean Tool with Multiple Release Capabilities - A subterranean tool can be actuated with one or more control lines for a hydraulic release. It can further be actuated with a shear release after a lockout feature for the shear release is defeated. The shear release features a lock that limits relative movement so that a shear member can be defeated but without a release. A dog limits relative movement in a wider groove where dog movement in the groove allows a shock absorbing feature to act to cushion the release as the shear member breaks. The relative movement is reversed to let a retaining ring drop out of the way into a groove that comes into alignment with it. The relative movement is reversed again to pull a sleeve out from under gripping collets that have previously failed to release and the tool releases from that point on the same way as the control line actuated release. | 06-20-2013 |
20140231068 | APPARATUS AND METHOD FOR SETTING A CEMENTITIOUS MATERIAL PLUG - During the process of drilling for hydrocarbons, there is often the need to set a cementitious material plug in an open hole to allow the process of sidetracking and drilling of a new well bore. The present invention provides an apparatus and method for setting a cementitious material plug in an irregularly shaped and/or over gauge well bore without contamination of the cementitious material by extruding a membrane filled with cementitious material from a membrane delivery device. | 08-21-2014 |
20140352944 | PACKOFF FOR LINER DEPLOYMENT ASSEMBLY - A packoff for hanging a liner string from a tubular string cemented in a wellbore includes: a tubular body having an outer groove and an inner groove; an inner seal assembly disposed in the inner groove; an outer seal assembly disposed in the outer groove; a cap connected to an upper end of the body for retaining the seal assemblies; a plurality dogs disposed in respective openings formed through a wall of the body; and a lock sleeve. The lock sleeve is: disposed in the body, longitudinally movable relative to the body, and has a cam profile formed in an outer surface thereof for extending the dogs. | 12-04-2014 |

20130312952 | DOWN HOLE TOOL - A flow back plug, a bridge plug, a ball drop plug and plug with a disintegratable check therein are made from a common subassembly including, in some embodiments, a mandrel, a slips/seal section, a setting assembly and a mule shoe. In other embodiments, the common components are a mandrel, a slips/seal section and a mule shoe. To make the flow back plug, a ball check is placed in the mule shoe. To make the bridge plug, an obstruction is inserted in the mule shoe. To make the ball drop plug, the mule shoe is left unobstructed so any ball dropped in a well seats in a tapered inlet to the mandrel. To make a plug with a disintegratable check, a ball dropped in the well is of a type that disintegrated in frac liquids. The setting assembly includes a setting rod connected to a setting device in the mandrel passage. When the plug is expanded into sealing engagement with a production string, the setting rod pulls out of the setting device leaving a passage through the mandrel and through the setting device. Another embodiment is an improved adapter sleeve used on conventional setting tools. | 11-28-2013 |
