20150330340AIR INTAKE APPARATUS - In this air intake apparatus, a plurality of respective air intake ports include sealing surfaces that include inner wall surfaces with which valve bodies come into contact at the closed positions of the valve bodies, and the rotation angles of valve bodies located on a side relatively close to a drive source from their open positions to their closed positions are larger than the rotation angles of valve bodies located on a side relatively opposite to the drive source when a plurality of valve bodies are rotated from their open positions to their closed positions.11-19-2015

20090020097Internal Combustion Engine - An internal combustion engine has a plurality of cylinders and an air intake system. The air intake system is formed from at least one distributor pipe, a plurality of intake pipes, and at least one plenum. The plenum is located between the distributor pipe and the intake pipes. Here, the combustion air is fed to the air intake system via an air guiding duct which opens out into the distributor pipe. The charge pressure of the combustion air is reduced between the outlet out of the compressor and the inlet into the combustion chamber of the internal combustion engine. A distributor pipe length is dimensioned as a function of an equivalent distributor pipe diameter such that it is possible for a reduction in the charge pressure to be obtained within the air intake system by way of an expansion, with the expansion taking place partially in the plenum in the respective intake pipe and/or within the distributor pipe.01-22-2009
20090038573AIR INTAKE DEVICE FOR MULTI-CYLINDER INTERNAL COMBUSTION ENGINE - An air intake device 02-12-2009
20090277413INTAKE SYSTEM FOR A BARREL INTERNAL COMBUSTION ENGINE - An intake system is provided for a barrel internal combustion engine. The intake system includes a main air inlet, an intake plenum for a plurality of combustion cylinders, a first throttle, a second throttle and a control unit. The first throttle is operative to control a flow of air from the main air inlet, through a charging unit, and to the intake plenum. The second throttle is operative to control a flow of air from the air inlet to the intake plenum. The control unit controls the operation of the first and second throttles in supercharged or normally aspirated modes, where the first throttle operates as a main throttle and the second throttle is closed in the supercharged mode, and where the first throttle is closed and the second throttle operates as the main throttle in the naturally aspirated mode.11-12-2009

20110005487Variable Intake System - A variable intake system may include intake runners that are respectively connected to a plurality of cylinders to supply air that flows therein to the cylinders, a plenum, one side of which is connected to the intake runners and distributes the air to the intake runners, a first resonance pipe, one end of which is connected to the other side of the plenum to supply the air therein, a second resonance pipe, one end of which is connected to the other side of the plenum to supply the air therein, the length thereof being shorter than that of the first resonance pipe and the cross-section thereof being wider than that of the first resonance pipe, and a junction pipe connected to the other ends of the first and second resonance pipes and supplying the air to the first and second resonance pipes respectively from an intake line.01-13-2011

20080276894Air Supply Distributor for an Internal Combustion Engine - An air distributor including a cylindrical tubular body including connecting channels for supplying cylinders of an internal combustion engine, branches of which open in an aligned manner along a generatrix of the tubular body. The tubular body extends upstream into the branches of a 180° elbow that opens at an air inlet, the elbow inclined in relation to the diametral plane of the tubular body containing generatrix. A recess is provided in the tubular body opposite the branches of the first and second distributed cylinders. The recess has a converging/diverging profile around the lowest area between the branches, and the recess can use Venturi effect to reduce drop in swirl in the second distributed cylinder induced by architecture of the inclined elbow distributor, by regulating airflows in the channels. The distributor can mount to an intake face of a diesel engine cylinder head with two intake ducts per cylinder.11-13-2008
