20080210200 | Method For Controlling a Fuel Delivery Device on an Internal Combustion Engine - An internal combustion engine has a fuel delivering device with a high-pressure pump which conveys fuel into a fuel reservoir, and a volume flow control valve that is assigned to the high-pressure pump. A control difference (FUP_DIF) is determined from a difference between a predefined fuel pressure (FUP_SP) and a detected fuel pressure (FUP_AV). The control difference (FUP_DIF) is fed to a controller that encompasses at least one integral portion (I_CTRL). A corrective value (COR) for an error value of a fuel flow rate is determined in accordance with the integral portion (I_CTRL) of the controller if a sum of the integral portion (I_CTRL) exceeds a given threshold value during a predefined mode of operation of the internal combustion engine. In addition, an actuating signal (PWM) for the volume flow control valve is generated according to a controller value (FUEL_MASS_FB_CTRL) and the corrective value (COR). | 09-04-2008 |

20110146625 | FUEL PRESSURE REGULATION SYSTEM AND AN IMPROVED FUEL PRESSURE REGULATOR FOR USE THEREIN - A fuel pressure regulation system for a compression ignition diesel engine. The system comprises a fuel supply line connected to an inlet of a transfer pump and a transfer pressure fuel line connected between the transfer pump outlet and the high pressure fuel pump inlet. A fuel filter is positioned in the transfer pressure fuel line and a fuel spill line fluidly connects a fuel pressure regulator to the transfer pressure fuel line at a point between the transfer pump outlet and the fuel filter. A fuel return line is connected between the fuel pressure regulator and the fuel supply line and a control fuel line is connected between the fuel pressure regulator and the transfer pressure fuel line. The fuel pressure regulator comprises a bore within which is located a valve member moveable from a non-regulating position of the fuel pressure regulator to a regulating position of the fuel pressure regulator. In use, any fuel entering the bore through a control fuel line connection acts upon a valve member thrust surface which results in a force acting to open the fuel pressure regulator. Any fuel entering the bore through the fuel spill line connection enters a region between the first end and the second end of the bore. There is provided a leak passageway connected from a point between the first and second ends and a fuel return line connection. In normal operating use, a fuel flow path from the fuel spill line connection to the fuel return line connection is kept open when the fuel pressure regulator is in the non-regulating position. | 06-23-2011 |

20120298075 | PRESSURE REGULATOR - A pressure regulator is connected to a fuel pipe to which fuel is supplied by a feed pump. There is formed a fuel channel in the pressure regulator for returning fuel from within the fuel pipe to the fuel tank. In the pressure regulator, there is also formed a stopper which can come into contact with a valve body when the valve body is displaced as a result of an increase in fuel pressure within the fuel pipe. The stopper reduces the fuel flow area of the fuel channel when the valve body is displaced as a result of the increase in the fuel pressure within the fuel pipe. Thus, the fuel flow area of the fuel channel is reduced as mentioned above when the fuel pressure within the fuel pipe is high. This makes the fuel within the fuel pipe less likely to be released through the aforementioned fuel channel. For this reason, it is possible to correspondingly increase the fuel pressure within the fuel pipe in an efficient manner when an attempt is made to increase the fuel delivery rate of the feed pump by increasing operating rate of the feed pump under conditions where the fuel pressure within the fuel pipe is high. | 11-29-2012 |
