20080216769 | PET LEASH WITH RESILIENT, COILED, NON-TANGLING LANYARD AND COMFORTABLE WRAP AROUND HANDLE - An animal leash includes a resilient elastomeric coil having a distal end and a proximal end, a resilient elastomeric distal lead attached to the distal end of the coil, a resilient elastomeric proximal lead attached to the proximal end of the coil, a distal swivel attached to the distal lead, a proximal swivel attached to the proximal lead, a spring clip coupled to the distal swivel, a cushioned handle and a coupling adjoining the handle to the proximal swivel. The coil and distal and proximal leads are configured to provide two modes of stretching, including a spring mode wherein the coil substantially linearly extends as increasing tensile force is applied, and a strain mode wherein the coil and distal and proximal leads are strained according to a modulus of elasticity. The swivels resist twisting. The handle provides a comfortable structure that can be gripped or worn as a wrist band. Additionally, excess cord may be wrapped around the cushioned handle without causing discomfort to the user. A supplemental handle may be disposed between the distal end of the coil and the proximal end of the clip. | 09-11-2008 |
20080276883 | Extendible Lead With an Integrated Excrement Collector - The invention relates to an extendible lead with an integrated excrement collector. According to the invention, one side of the casing is provided with a clip for securing spare bags prior to use. The inventive lead is of the type that includes a casing with a handle. The aforementioned casing contains a collection drum and the lead is dispensed through a front hole in said casing. The free end of the lead is provided with a snap hook or another means for joining same to a dog collar. The invention is characterised in that the casing is provided with fixing means including a sleeve, one side of which is provided with a screw for locking a tubular body inside said sleeve. The tubular body can slide longitudinally in relation to the casing between a retracted rear rest position and an extended forward use position in which at least one projection at the rear end of the tubular body is inserted into a recess in the sleeve in order to prevent the tubular body from rotating in relation to the casing during use. The above-mentioned means for fixing the tubular body to the casing include a longitudinal channel supporting a clamp which can be opened in order to remove the tubular body temporarily. The channel defines an arrangement for the tubular body at an open angle in relation to the angle occupied by the animal lead. In addition, the tubular body contains a flexible wire or similar, one end of which extends through a hole provided in an end piece at the front end of the body. The front end of the flexible wire is fixed to a point on the exterior of the end piece such that a lasso can be formed by tightening the wire using a cover that can be coupled to the last telescopic segment by means of a screw thread. An inverted bag is disposed in the lasso. The other end of the flexible wire extends from the opposite end of the tubular body and is connected to a handle which is provided at the end of an assembly of telescopic segments which are housed inside the tubular body. The flexible wire can be used to tighten the opening in the paper bag. In this way, the handle at the free end of the flexible wire is pulled in order to close the mouth of the paper bag around the excrement, such that the excrement is collected therein. | 11-13-2008 |
20090000568 | Shock Absorbing Leash Attachment - A shock absorbing leash attachment comprising an elastic member around which a common animal tether or leash is spirally wound, the two ends of the tether or leash passing through openings at each end of the elastic member respectively. Shock on the tether or leash is absorbed by straining the elastic member in torsion and tension. | 01-01-2009 |
20090151651 | Stretchable Leash and Assembly - A stretchable leash and assembly is disclosed for a handler's restraint or control of an animal or human subject made from an elastic material or fabric. The leash material or fabric has a cross section with its width substantially longer than its height. At its distal end, a small length of the leash material or fabric is overlapped and thereby looped upon itself by running the distal end through a buckle or hoop attached to a clasp and securely attaching the distal end to a portion of the overlapped length of the leash material or fabric. At its proximal end, a longer length of the leash material or fabric is overlapped and thereby looped upon itself and securely attached to a portion of the overlapped length to form a loop handle. | 06-18-2009 |

20100037833 | Tangle-free/ drag-free coiled pet leash - A dog leash utilizing a coil of durable material such as polyurethane which contracts and expands according to the distance of the dog from the holder of the leash. This feature minimizes instances of the dog's legs becoming tangled in the leash or the leash dragging on the ground. The coil also provides shock absorption as dog reaches the end of the leash's maximum length. The present invention also utilizes a sheath of fabric covering the coil, shielding the dog from direct contact with the bare coil which may cause irritation, and creates a soft and cushioned handle for the holder of the leash. The fabric also allows for decorative effects which would not be possible with a bare coil. | 02-18-2010 |
20100251971 | Pet Leash and Rope Used Therein - A pet leash includes a connector, a handle, and a rope. The connector is for connecting with a collar; the handle is for being held; and the rope connecting with the connector and the handle by two ends respectively. The pet leash is characterized in that the rope includes a plurality of strands forming a core of the rope and a sheath wrapping and binding up the said core, with the strands being of an elastic material. Therefore, the present invention can avoid a widen crack or sudden snap derived from an initially formed crack while providing a high elasticity. | 10-07-2010 |
20110120390 | Pet Strap Assembly Having Buffering Effect - A pet strap assembly includes a drawing unit and a pulling unit detachably connected with the drawing unit. The drawing unit includes an elastic strap. The elastic strap includes an outer layer, at least one inner layer mounted in and surrounded by the outer layer and a plurality of resilient strips mounted in and surrounded by the at least one inner layer. Thus, the elastic drawing unit provides an elastic buffering effect to the user by the elastic action of the resilient strips to reduce the reaction applied by the pet on the user's hand to the minimum extent, thereby preventing the user's wrist from being hurt when the pet is running violently. | 05-26-2011 |
20110297106 | LEASH, COLLAR, AND HARNESS WITH INTERCHANGEABLE ACCESSORIES - A leash for animals incorporating a flexible strap formed of a closed-cell, cross-linked, thermoset foamed polymer having structure for attachment to the animal's neck at one end and a loop or handle for the animal's handler at the other end. A plurality of apertures formed along the length of the strap allow decorative elements such as charms to be attached to the leash. | 12-08-2011 |
20120260866 | Dog Leash Untangler For More Than One Dog - The present invention is directed to a dual pet leash, including a spherical-shaped or ellipsoid-shaped or cone-shaped or cylindrical-shaped or egg-shaped detangling element, a handle located adjacent the detangling element, and two or more pet attachment portions or straps extending from the detangling element, the pet attachment portions spaced approximately equidistant from each other, or spaced on approximately opposite sides of the detangling element. Latches for attaching to the pet attachment portions to a pet's collar or pet's harness are also provided. The detangling element is configured to rotate about the bolt | 10-18-2012 |
20130192539 | NO-SLACK LENGTH-LIMITED ELASTIC LEASH - A leash has a first end for gripping and a second end for securing to an animal, a length of elastic material, and a length of inelastic material including first and second portions. The length of elastic material and length of inelastic material are configured so that application of tensile force to the first or second end of the leash extends the length of elastic material. Extension of the length of elastic material causes the first portion of the length of inelastic material to lengthen and the second portion of the length of inelastic material to correspondingly shorten. Contraction of the length of elastic material causes the second portion of the length of inelastic material to lengthen and the first portion of the inelastic material to correspondingly shorten, preventing slack in the leash upon sudden deapplication of a tensile force. | 08-01-2013 |
