20100236465Scale Turning Device, Notably for Streamlined Tractor Rope Comprising Such Scales - The present invention relates to a means for mutually aligning the scales of a rope streamlined by means of scales articulated to rotate about its axis, the alignment being necessary to enable such a rope to be wound onto the drum of a winch. It mainly consists of a device presenting a bevelled front face and comprising a cavity extending from front to rear, inside which passes the rope before it is wound. The cavity presents a longitudinal opening with two lateral edges, each edge following, from front to back, a profile in helical form, the two helices being coaxial to each other and with the axis of symmetry of the cavity. The wall of the cavity is also configured so as to follow the cross-sectional profile of the scale all along its path in the device. The device is arranged relative to the drum on which the rope is wound so that, given the length of the edges of the opening, regardless of the orientation of a scale on entering the device, the latter, on exiting, assumes the desired orientation, in the alignment of the adjacent scales. The invention applies notably to the systems for handling tractor ropes streamlined by means of scales, used on a ship to pull a submersible body cast off at sea.09-23-2010

20110209654WAKE TOWERS AND METHODS OF USE AND MANUFACTURE THEREOF - A wake tower for a powerboat for use in wakeboarding or other water sports is described. The wake tower can include base members attached to the powerboat and a U- shaped bar extending generally upwardly from the base members. The side bars can be tapered inward and can also be angled toward the bow of the powerboat. Support members can be positioned along the side bars to provide increased structural support to increase the maximum load of the wake tower and to increase the rigidity of the wake tower resulting in less shaking during use. A tow cross bar having a tow rope connector can be suspended generally between the side bars of the wake tower. The wake tower can be transitioned between an upright position and a lowered position. Shocks can be used to compensate for some of the weight of the wake tower to allow the wake tower to be raised and lowered with less effort by the user.09-01-2011
20120103241WATERCRAFT IMMOBILIZING APPARATUS AND SYSTEM - A watercraft immobilizing apparatus and system for a marine vessel to passively defend against an attacking engine-powered watercraft includes a towed array of entanglement lines. The entanglement lines can be provided on and administered from removable/replaceable storage cartridges mountable on and/or deployed via davits, outriggers, paravanes, and/or weighted submersible rollers to foul and immobilize propellers and engine cooling water intakes of encroaching watercraft.05-03-2012
20120125248 BARGE PUSHER - A sectional barge assembly and a hydraulic thruster apparatus for maneuvering the sectional barge assembly. The hydraulic thruster apparatus includes a hydraulic power unit and a thruster unit. The hydraulic power unit includes an engine and a hydraulic pump connected to the engine. The thruster unit includes a hydraulic motor and a propeller drivingly connected to the hydraulic motor to provide a thrust force that acts to move the sectional barge assembly. The sectional barge assembly includes a plurality of barges interconnected by connector devices that are also used to interconnect the thruster unit to the sectional barge assembly. Further, a hydraulic connection panel is mounted on the thruster unit and includes a plurality of hydraulic connectors which allow a plurality of hydraulic lines to be removably connectable thereto, respectively. By this arrangement, the hydraulic pump provides pressurized hydraulic fluid through the hydraulic lines thereto the hydraulic motor and other components of the thruster unit. Additionally, the thruster unit includes at least one hydraulic cylinder for controlling vertical rectilinear sliding of a thruster unit mast between a top position and a bottom position. The thruster unit also includes a rotating mechanism for rotating the mast and a propeller assembly of the thruster unit about a longitudinal axis of the mast.05-24-2012

20130199433METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR ADJUSTING AND STABILIZING A WAVE GENERATOR TRAVELING THROUGH A BODY OF WATER - The invention relates to a positively buoyant wave generator adapted to travel through a body of water, wherein specific features are incorporated into the wave generator to help create and off-set various hydrodynamic forces that can act on the wave generator as it travels through the water. Rather than eliminating these hydrodynamic forces, the invention seeks to create and counter these forces, which has been found to help keep the wave generator in substantial equilibrium. For example, a connecting member can be extended forward and below the wave generator's center of buoyancy, such that as the wave generator is pulled, it creates an upward force that helps to counter a downward force acting on the front end of the wave generator as water is lifted up. Various internal moments can also be created and off-set by adjusting the center of gravity and/or center of buoyancy and using these forces to help keep the wave generator in substantial equilibrium. Different configurations, surfaces and curvatures can also be used to help create additional counteracting and stabilizing forces and moments.08-08-2013

20150360753TOWING SYSTEM FOR A TUGBOAT - The towing system for a tugboat consists of a ring arranged on the deck of the tugboat along which a cart moves on which a winch is arranged. At a larger diameter of the ring manufacturing inaccuracies of the cart respectively the ring respectively deformations can be absorbed in a particularly efficient way by arranging springs between the wheels that engage the ring-shaped base and the cart on which the wheels are arranged. In particular, such springs are rubber springs such as neoprene springs. These can be arranged as blocks, bushes or the like. Preferably, the cart includes a relatively stiff box on which a winch and, more in particular, an electrical winch is arranged.
