The feature of controlling thread tails may be optional to provide selection of either a high speed mode of operation without thread tail control or a quality mode of operation with reduction or removal of needle thread tails from the face of the quilted material. Thread trimmers may be included at each needle location on the looper side of the material to cut both needle and looper threads.08-13-2009
20100206205MATERIAL SHEET ATTACHMENT DEVICE AND METHODS - A device for attaching a fabric layer of a quilt to a leader that, in turn, attaches to a rail on a quilting machine so that the quilt may be pulled allowing the quilting machine to stitch the entire quilt.08-19-2010
20110005441 Quilting and Embroidery Method - The present invention provides an improved method and computer program product for quilting and embroidering fabric. The method comprises securing a quilt sandwich of top layer fabric, batting and backing fabric in an embroidery hoop and attaching said embroidery hoop to an embroidery machine. The user retrieves a digitized embroidery file that is fed into the embroidery machine. The digitized file instructs the embroidery machine to stitch the quilt layers together according to a predetermined stippling pattern and to stitch an outline for an appliqué. After an appliqué fabric is placed over the outline, the digitized file sews a tackdown stitch, after which appliqué enhancements or additional layers of appliqué may also be stitched. The quilt is then removed from the embroidery hoop and the appliqué and quilt are trimmed.01-13-2011

20120000406METHOD FOR MANUFACTURING NATURAL FIBER STRIPE-QUILTED FABRIC HAVING PROTRUDED WRINKLE PATTERNS ON ITS SURFACE - The method for manufacturing a natural fiber stripe-quilted fabric having protruded wrinkle patterns on its surface is disclosed, in which a quilting machine is installed by fixing a sewing machine support member in a diagonal direction at 70˜85° with respect to a running direction of a quilted fabric on an upper plate 01-05-2012
20120097083MULTI-NEEDLE QUILTING MACHINE AND NEEDLE AND LOOPER DRIVE MECHANISM THEREFOR AND METHOD OF OPERATING SAME - A multi-needle quilting machine is provided with a common drive that drives the needles and loopers. It may also drive the presser foot assembly. In the illustrated embodiment, a drive motor drives a rotating drive shaft. The drive shaft has an off-center drive assembly connected to it that rocks a needle rocker shaft as well as looper rocker shafts, and also a presser foot shaft. The off-center drive includes a pair of eccentrics on the drive shaft at each side of the machine. Each eccentric oscillates a linkage plate that is fixed to a shaft such as the needle rocker shaft and is also linked to the looper rocker shafts and the presser foot shaft. The eccentric thereby reciprocates the needles and oscillates the loopers, as well as reciprocates the presser foot plate, in permanent synchronization.04-26-2012
20120318181QUILTING MACHINE AND IMPROVED DRIVING SYSTEM FOR SUCH QUILTING MACHINE - An improved quilting machine, with a housing made by a C-shaped frame that has upper and lower arms, wherein the needle structure at the front end of the upper arm have conventional design (as used in commercial sewing machines) and the bobbin is placed to an elevated height by providing an upwardly extended end portion of the lower arm, wherein an offset shaft transmission means is be provided in the upwardly extended portion that acts as a power transmission towards the bobbin driving axle from the lower driving axle extending in the lower arm, wherein the upper and lower driving axles comprise of hollow drive shafts connected via flexible coupling means to half-shafts mounted on plates that are integral parts of the C-frame by dual ball bearing mounts. By such a simple design the reciprocating mass of the needle structure and the mass of the torque transmission means are reduced, conventional needle moving structures can be used and owing to the lighter load, the dimensions of the drive train can be less massive and heavy.12-20-2012
20150299922ERGONOMIC PANTOGRAPH HANDLES - The present invention relates to a quilting machine and more specifically a long-arm stitching machine, or stitcher. The stitcher includes handles that are used to trace a laser dot on a pantograph pattern located in front of the fabric being quilted. Tracing the laser dot ensures that the needle and thread associated with the sewing machine head duplicates the pattern being traced. In the present invention, the handles are placed to one side of the sewing machine head to allow an operator to remain upright when watching the laser trace the pattern or the needle and thread quilting the fabric.10-22-2015
20150299923SWIVELING TABLET MOUNT - The present invention relates to a quilting machine, or stitcher, further including a centrally located swiveling tablet mount for securing a tablet that is used in the quilting process. The mount is positioned such that a user may access the mount from either side of, or the rear or front of the stitcher. The mount is one capable of swiveling so that the user does not have to move the tablet between front and rear mounts of the stitcher or buy separate tablets for a front and rear mount.10-22-2015

20130055938FREE MOTION SEWING DISK SET - A set of sewing disks for controlling the movement of a piece of fabric over the free arm and under the needle of a sewing or quilting machine Each disk is flat and has an oval or circular configuration and comprises three registered, stacked adhesively attached layers—a first contact layer made of an open cell foam, a semi-rigid intermediate stiffener member, and a second contact layer made of close cell foam. When each disk is placed over a piece of fabric with the lower contact layer is placed adjacent thereto, the individual's fingers are exposed at all times and placed over the opposite contact layer. The intermediate stiffener layer spreads and evenly dissipates the forces exerted by the fingers to the top contact layer to the lower contact layer. Because, the finger tips are not in contact with the fabric, soiling of the fabric by the finger tips is prevented.03-07-2013
