20080257223Hydraulic Binder Comprising a Ternary Acceleration System and Mortars and Concretes Comprising One Such Binder - A hydraulic binder based on slag cement, the slag cement including 20 to 80 weight % relative to a total weight of slag cement, of a blast furnace slag or a mixture of blast furnace slags, relative to the total weight of the slag cement, the hydraulic binder including an acceleration additive that is a ternary system including at least one alkali metal hydroxide in an amount such that, during mixing with water of the hydraulic binder, a molar concentration of the alkali metal hydroxide in the water is from 0.05N to 0.60N, preferably from 0.20N to 0.40N; an alkali metal sulfate at a rate of from 0.2 to 3 weight % of the slag cement; and a source of calcium sulfate in such a proportion that the content of calcium sulfate (CaSO10-23-2008
20100043675Method and Device for Grinding Hot, Wet Raw Material - The invention relates to a method and a device for grinding hot, wet raw material.02-25-2010
20100170421Process for Preparing a Filler for Asphalt or Concrete Starting From a Slag Material - The present invention relates to a process for preparing, starting from a slag material, a filler for construction materials which contain bitumen or a hydraulic binding agent. The slag used to prepare the filler contains γ-dicalcium silicate. The process comprises the step of removing from the slag material a finer fraction formed by particles of a size between 0 and at least 0.75 mm so as to reduce the γ-dicalcium silicate content of the slag material; and the step of finely milling at least a portion of the remaining coarser fraction of the slag to obtain the filler. The invention also relates to the obtained filler, to the use thereof for preparing construction materials and to concrete or mortar compositions and asphalt compositions containing the filler. By removing the finer fraction from the slag material, a filler is obtained which has a considerably lower water content so that it becomes suitable for use in asphalt or concrete or mortar compositions, in particular in self-compacting concrete compositions.07-08-2010
20160016852Accelerated Drying Concrete Compositions and Methods of Manufacturing Thereof - Cementitious compositions and processes for preparing and using the cementitious compositions are provided. The cementitious compositions are characterized by the property of a reduced or an attenuated water vapor emission from a cementitious mix and a concrete formed therefrom. Certain cementitious compositions are characterized by the property of accelerated drying while still maintaining good workability. Methods of improving water retention and surface drying of concrete, including lightweight concrete are provided. A water soluble ionic salt may be used to sequester water within the pores and capillaries of the cement paste and/or porous lightweight aggregate. In some examples, the salt may be added directly to concrete or aggregates may be infused with a water-salt solution to provide treated porous aggregates having improved water saturation and water retention.01-21-2016

20110146540BIOMASS-DERIVED GRINDING AIDS - Compositions and methods for increasing grinding efficiency of cement, cement clinker, raw materials for cement, and other inorganic particles. Use of biomass-derived polyols such as diols, triols, or mixtures thereof, optionally with a conventional grinding aid, cement quality improver, and/or hexavalent chromium reducer, are believed to provide less risk of sludging when compared to glycerides obtained from fossil fuel sources.06-23-2011
20130098272METHOD AND COMPOSITIONS FOR POZZOLANIC BINDERS DERIVED FROM NON-FERROUS SMELTER SLAGS - The invention encompasses an ultrafine NFS powder wherein the particle size is sufficiently small as to increase the proportion of the reactive glassy silicate phase in the NFS, methods of making the ultrafine NFS powder, and cementitious products which use the ultrafine NFS powder. The invention also encompasses pozzolanic binders produced by fine grinding non-ferrous smelter slags, as well as methods for processing the non-ferrous slags wherein various chemical additives, such as pH increasing additives, are added to the binders to increase the strength of compositions for uses such as mine backfill or grout mixtures.04-25-2013
20140238276Method for the production of a building material - Method for the production of a building material, in particular mortar or concrete from an alkali activated hydraulic binder, in which at least one dispersing agent and at least one set modifier is added to the mix, in which at least the dispersing agent is added after mixing the binder with water.08-28-2014
