|Aldyl a tee scraper - A utility service tee scraping tool having three basic components—a scraper or cutting element, a scraper holder, and an alignment body. The scraper includes a rigid, vertically oriented body to which one or more cutting blades are attached. The scraper holder includes a service pipe tee clamp having two gripping elements with surfaces adapted to fit snugly around the service pipe tee and maintain the tee scraping tool in a fixed position during operation. The tool may be manipulated from above ground. Although particularly suitable for use in keyhole excavations where remote operation of the tool is required, the tool may also be used in traditional excavations.

|Clamshell lathe - A clamshell lathe that can be utilized to machine or mill a portion of a workpiece such as a tube or pipe, wherein the clamshell lathe is a generally annular device that includes a stationary member and a rotatable member each preferably comprising semi-cylindrical halves that are connected together around the workpiece to be machined. The stationary member includes a bearing channel in which bearings of the rotatable member travel when the rotatable member is activated. In a preferred embodiment, an inner wall of the bearing channel has an angled end portion that is positioned adjacent an angled end portion of the rotatable member.
|DEVICE AND APPARATUS COMPRISING SAID DEVICE FOR WORKING THE END OF A TUBE - A pipe-end processing tool and a pipe-end processing system for it. A guide roller is used which runs along the inside peripheral surface of a pipe to be processed and as a result keeps an implement designed to machine an outer edge bezel of said pipe at a constant radial distance from the inside peripheral surface. As a result residual wall thicknesses constant over the full pipe periphery are generated even when the pipe is not rigorously circular, for instance illustratively oval.
|Power Threading and Cutting Device with Sliding Support - An adjustable support for supporting power threading and cutting devices is provided. The support includes an elevated stand adapted for holding a work piece, a support member and an adjustable bracket mounted to the elevated stand. The adjustable bracket is configured to receive the support member whereby the support member is free to move longitudinally and laterally with respect to the work piece so that the support member can be positioned either distal or proximal to a front end of the elevated stand. The support arm may be a support arm which is secured to the elevated stand and slidably received along an axis parallel to the work piece. A power threading and cutting device having a powered element to engage a work piece and a support adjustable in at least two axes parallel to the work piece is also contemplated. The adjustable support may be conveniently moved out of the operational area when it is not in use.
|Pipe End Machining Device with Axial Autofeed - A device for preparing the end of a pipe includes a non-rotatable mandrel one end of which is attachable to the pipe. A motor rotates a sleeve around the mandrel and the sleeve retains an arm perpendicular to the mandrel for cutting the pipe. A cam surface on the rotating sleeve moves a cam follower. Movement of the cam follower is converted to rotational movement for turning a feed nut threaded on the mandrel. The rate at which the sleeve is advanced by the feed nut is controlled by limiting the movement of the cam follower.
|Rotating Pipe Machining Device - A machining device has a stationary member and a rotating member. A plurality of bearings on one of the members engages a surface of the other. At least one of the bearings is radially fixed, while the remainder of the bearings are radially adjustable. In another aspect of the invention, the bearings are rotatable on a first cylindrical portion of a mounting shaft that has a second cylindrical portion attachable to the machine. A radial undercut is provided around a flange between the first cylindrical portion and the second cylindrical portion.
|Multiple tool device for preparing tubular elements to be welded by electrofusion - A multiple tool device, particularly adapted to prepare tubular elements to be welded by electrofusion, comprising a cup member which is associable with the end portion of a tubular element and is provided with motion transmission means adapted to turn the multiple tool device. The particularity of the present invention resides in that it comprises scraper means adapted to remove the outer surface layer of the end portion and facing means which have a working motion that is opposite with respect to the preceding means and are adapted to face the edge of the end portion so as to make it perpendicular to the axis of the tubular element.
|PIPE LATHE AND SUBASSEMBLY THEREFOR - A subassembly is provided for a pipe lathe. The pipe lathe includes a segmented base ring and a drive gear assembly. The segmented base ring is structured to be removably coupled to a work piece having a perimeter. The subassembly includes a gear ring, a separate ring member, at least one tool mounting portion disposed on the separate ring member, and a plurality of fasteners. The fasteners extend through the apertures of the separate ring member and fasten the separate ring member to the gear ring, in order that the separate ring member rotates with the gear ring but not independently with respect thereto. A number of tool assemblies mount to the tool mounting portion to machine the work piece. The gear ring includes a plurality of teeth, which cooperate with the drive gear assembly of the pipe lathe to rotate the subassembly about the perimeter of the work piece.
|TUBE MACHINING DEVICE FOR MACHINING A TUBULAR BODY - The invention relates to a tube machining device for machining the end of a tube, the tube machining device having an inner clamping unit with clamping wedges, which can be moved radially in relation to an axial longitudinal axis of the tube machining device relative to the tube to be machined for releasably fixing the inner clamping unit on the end region of a tube to be machined. Furthermore, a tool receiving unit for receiving a tool is provided, wherein the tool receiving unit is arranged concentrically in relation to the axial longitudinal axis and is mounted rotatably about this longitudinal axis relative to the inner clamping unit. To prevent foreign bodies from unintentionally falling into the tube to be machined and being lost there during the machining of the end of the tube, according to the invention the tube machining device also has a sealing body that can be introduced with the inner clamping unit into the end region of the tube to be machined.
|PEELING TOOL - A peeling tool designed for at least partially stripping the outer peripheral surface of rotationally symmetric objects, in particular cylindrical plastic pipes, with the peeling tool featuring a peeling head with a drive shaft having a longitudinal axis and coaxially to this drive shaft arranged cylindrical blade roller. The cylindrical blade roller moves with the drive shaft. The peeling tool also featuring at least one peeling blade inside the blade roller with the peeling blade having a cutting edge which extends beyond the blade roller surface and defines the maximum outer diameter of the peeling head. The peeling tool also features two cylindrical guide elements with longitudinal axes, which are mounted to the face sides of the blade roller in a coaxial arrangement.
|PORTABLE COMPACT THREADING MACHINE - A powered threading machine is described. The threading machine is compact and portable. The threading machine includes a tube frame having a rearward wheel assembly and an extendable handle at the front of the machine. A particular sump configuration is used to prevent loss of cutting oil during operation and transport of the machine.
|Split Frame Lathe - A split frame lathe having improved locking, cutting and adjustment capabilities is disclosed. The split frame lathe includes an embodiment having a plurality of internal bearing systems where each internal bearing system includes an eccentric bushing, a bearing pin and a v-bearing. Another embodiment of the split frame lathe may include adjustable leg systems. The split frame lathe may also include a star gear connected to a gear ring where the star gear can be rotated in a first direction and, alternatively, in an opposite second direction. In another embodiment the split frame lathe includes a trip system to prevent damage to the lathe and harm to the operator. The split frame lathe may also include improved locking mechanisms for the gear and base ring and a hinge system. The split frame lathe also may include a counter bore and flange facer attachment.
|PORTABLE MACHINING APPARATUS TOOL MODULE - A tool module for a machining apparatus including a rotatable portion. The tool module includes at least one adjustment clamp supported by the rotatable portion. A module base is supported by the at least one adjustment clamp and defines a linear movement track. A tool slide is configured to support a cutting tool and is movable along the linear movement track. The at least one adjustment clamp is movable from a release position to a locking position and vice versa, and in both the release position and the locking position the at least one adjustment clamp is connected to the rotatable portion. In the release position the at least one adjustment clamp permits the module base to translate relative thereto, and in the locking position the at least one adjustment clamp engages the module base to inhibit the module base from moving relative thereto.
|PIPE LATHE AND SUBASSEMBLY THEREFOR - A subassembly is provided for a pipe lathe. The pipe lathe includes a segmented base ring and a drive gear assembly. The segmented base ring is structured to be removably coupled to a work piece having a perimeter. The subassembly includes a gear ring, a separate ring member, at least one tool mounting portion disposed on the separate ring member. The separate ring member is fastenable to the gear ring, in order that the separate ring member rotates with the gear ring but not independently with respect thereto. A number of tool assemblies mount to the tool mounting portion to machine the work piece. The gear ring includes a plurality of teeth, which cooperate with the drive gear assembly of the pipe lathe to rotate the subassembly about the perimeter of the work piece.
|MACHINING APPARATUS - In a machining apparatus, complete control of the movement, stopping, speed and displacement of a tool mounted on a rotating face plate is achieved by using a first motor to cause rotation of the face plate, causing the first motor to rotate a ring gear along with the face plate, controlling the relative speeds of the face plate and the ring gear by means of a second motor and a differential mechanism, and moving the tool on the face plate in response to a difference in the rotational speeds of the face plate and the ring gear.
|TRANSPORTABLE BEVELING TOOL - Beveling tools having a variety of features are described. The tools can utilize a combination of handles, a protective external frame, guide rollers that are positionally adjusted by swing arms with timing lobes, or by an alternative guide bar mounting system, a helical knurled drive roller, guide rollers that have a convex or crowned face, skewed guide rollers, a positive clutch assembly for governing force applied to the guide rollers, a hand crank assembly for moving the tool when mounted on a workpiece, position adjustment provisions for varying the position of a milling head, and indicators providing visual feedback to an operator.
|TOOL FEED SYSTEM FOR USE WITH A ROTATING MACHINING DEVICE - A rotating machining device for machining a work piece includes a support housing adapted to be mounted on the work piece and a headstock rotatably mounted on the support housing. At least one tool module is mounted to the headstock and includes a tool feed system having a tool holder and a feed mechanism operatively connected to the tool holder. A tripper pin assembly is mounted on the support housing and arranged to collide with the feed mechanism for advancement of the tool holder relative to the work piece. The feed mechanism collides with the tripper pin assembly at a collision point radially positioned inside of an outer diameter of the headstock.
|MACHINING DEVICE FOR OUTER PIPE SURFACES - A machining device for machining the lateral surface of an approximately cylindrical object in portions thereof includes a chain for annularly surrounding the object to be machined. The chain consists of at least two hingedly connectable chain links, one of which is a tool holder having at least one tool for machining the lateral surface. The device also includes support rollers for rolling on the lateral surface. The at least one other chain link is a chain connecting link. The chain links are connectable in such a way that they form a closed chain ring around the object to be machined. The machining device further includes a feed adjuster capable of reversibly adjusting an axial position of facing ends of two chain links parallel to the axis of the closed chain ring relative to each other.
|PIPE END MACHINING DEVICE WITH AXIAL AUTOFEED - A device for preparing the end of a pipe includes a non-rotatable mandrel one and of which is attachable to the pipe. A motor rotates a sleeve around the mandrel and the sleeve retains an arm perpendicular to the mandrel for cutting the pipe. A cam surface on the rotating sleeve moves a cam follower. Movement of the cam follower is converted to rotational movement for turning a feed nut threaded on the mandrel. The rate at which the sleeve is advanced by the feed nut is controlled by limiting the movement of the cam follower.
|TOOL FEED SYSTEM FOR USE WITH A ROTATING MACHINING DEVICE - A rotating machining device for machining a work piece includes a body having a support housing and a headstock rotatable relative to the support housing. A tool feed system including a tool module is attached to the headstock and a tripper pin assembly is attached to the support housing. The tripper pin assembly is arranged to collide with the tool feed system at a collision point for advancement of the tool feed system relative to the work piece. The radial position of the collision point is adjustable relative to the tool module such that the collision point is repositionable independent of the tool module.
|INTERCHANGEABLE CUTTING INSERTS AND METHODS ASSOCIATED WITH THE SAME - A cutting insert configured to couple to a pipe machining apparatus is provided and includes a first cutting edge and a second cutting edge opposite the first cutting edge. A pipe cutting assembly is provided and includes a first base, a second base separate from the first base, and a cutting insert interchangeably couplable to the first base and the second base to perform a first cut with the cutting insert coupled to the first base and a second cut with the cutting insert coupled to the second base. A pipe machining apparatus is provided and includes a tool support, a first cutting tool base and a second cutting tool base interchangeably coupled to the tool support, and a cutting insert interchangeably coupled to the first cutting tool base and the second cutting tool base.
