20100043425 | System for Conversion of Wave Energy into Electrical Energy - The present invention relates to the utilization of wave energy and its conversion into operating motion of an electrical energy generating system. The system for generation of electrical energy through the conversion of aquatic wave motion includes floating bodies and a constant rotation mechanism, which converts the two-way linear motion of an inflexible transmission shaft or a flexible transmission shafts into one-way rotation of an output shaft of the constant rotation mechanism. This mechanism allows utilization of wave energy in two directions caused by the rise and fall of waves. The output shaft of the constant rotation mechanism is coupled to a force multiplier that is further coupled to a generator which generates electrical energy. Constant rotation mechanism can be driven by inflexible transmission shaft pivotally coupled to the floating bodies at one end, and the other end to an input gear of the constant rotation mechanism. Depending on the height of the wave and the wavelength, various constructions of floating bodies are used. Certain floating bodies are designed for the waves of a smaller amplitude and smaller wavelength, while other floating bodies are designed for bigger amplitude and bigger wavelength. | 02-25-2010 |
20100122529 | Kinetically balanced bi-direction rotational wave energy converter - An improved apparatus and method to extract the mechanical energy of waves, tides and water movement into useful mechanical energy, a wave energy converter (WEC). This device is easily scaled to harness said energy according to the needs of local conditions or user requirements. It has five elements, to be placed in a body of water. Two of those elements being a buoyant body, containing an apparatus for water motion energy conversion, and a reactive free weight being able to move relative to each other in response to forces exerted by the body of water. A mooring system, to which, is attached a flexible member. The flexible member attaches these elements together as one device. Upon its length it contains at least two re-positionable elements which restrain the motion of the buoyant body along the length of the flexible member. | 05-20-2010 |

20110258998 | DEVICE FOR A WINCH-OPERATED WAVE-POWER PLANT - A device for a winch-operated wave-power plant with a self-tightening winch connecting a wave-energy-absorbing body via a winch wire to a reference point. A winch cable drum is connected via a mechanical energy absorption- and conversion system to a rotating outgoing axle. The mechanical energy absorption- and conversion system is connected to a slip clutch. The slip clutch is arranged between the winch axle and the outgoing axle. The slip clutch can be set to slip, thereby reducing the flow of mechanical rotational energy from the rotating winch through the mechanical energy absorption- and conversion system, so that the amount of energy per time unit absorbed by the mechanical energy absorption- and conversion system is limited by how much the slip clutch slips. The system further includes a governing system controlling the slip clutch by acting upon excessive speed and/or forces in the winch and the winch axle. | 10-27-2011 |

20120167563 | Advanced high energy wave power module - An ADVANCED HIGH ENERGY WAVE POWER MODULE and each of the plurality of ADVANCED HIGH ENERGY WAVE POWER MODULES for converting the energy from high energy waves and swells into usable power in industrial scale connected by pressure piping, or by pressure piping and discharge piping, to the consumer of the mechanical energy in form of the high pressurized flow of working fluid is described as the submerged immovable platform and the submerged movable platform connected to the float by outer power flexible link with variable free length and compressible chambers installed between the immovable and movable platforms. The variable buoyancy force from the float converting to the increased driving force, which is acted through the movable platform to the compressible chambers to discharge high pressurized working fluid from compressible chambers through the pressure pipeline to the consumer. The stroke of the movable platform and compressible chambers is less than a height of wave or swells. | 07-05-2012 |
20120240569 | DEVICE TO CAPTURE WAVE ENERGY - A device to capture and store or generate energy from variations in water level of a water body has a housing and an input shaft rotatably mounted to the housing. A drive belt is rotatably connected to the input shaft and a float is attached to that drive belt so that the float reciprocally drives the input shaft as the water levels increase and decrease. An output shaft is also rotatably mounted to the housing while a first one-way clutch is operatively disposed between the input shaft and the output shaft so that the input shaft rotatably drives the output shaft through the clutch in one rotational direction. A reversing gear is rotatably mounted to the housing and rotatably drives a second one-way clutch also operatively coupled to the second shaft to drive the second shaft in the same rotational direction as the first clutch, but during the opposite rotation of the input shaft. | 09-27-2012 |

20160032887 | METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR CONVERTING ENERGY IN A MOVING FLUID MASS TO ROTATIONAL ENERGY DRVING A TRANSMISSION - Three bodies interact to drive a transmission having a pair of one-way clutches coupling a single length of drive chain or other elongate flexible member to an intermeshed pair of counter rotatable gears so as to drive a primary shaft in a single rotational direction. The three bodies are a fixed body, a floating body, and a suspended and usually submerged weighted body. The three bodies are interconnected by the single length of the elongate flexible member and are spaced apart there along. The weighted body is mounted at one end of the elongate flexible member. The primary shaft is mounted above the surface of a moving fluid mass to either the fixed or floating body. The end of the flexible member opposite to the weight is mounted to the other of the fixed or floating body. | 02-04-2016 |
