20090025330 | ENHANCED GIRDER SYSTEM - An enhancing mechanism to be placed primarily below the neutral axis of a girder is presented. The movement and deflection of the girder causes the enhancing mechanism to alter the bending moment distribution of the girder. The mechanism is configured so that when combined with the girder, the overall dimensions of the combined system is not much bigger than the dimensions of the girder alone. A tension member may be incorporated into the lower boundary of the enhancing mechanism, and connections are used to attach the mechanism to the girder below the neutral axis. The girder and the enhancing mechanism may be made of the same material or different materials. The compression forces developed in the long diagonal members of the enhancing mechanism become a reaction at the girder end points. A direct connection of the long diagonal members to support points load shear directly to the end supports. | 01-29-2009 |
20140174018 | COLUMN CONNECTOR SYSTEM - A connector for a column segment, such as a boom segment, of a crane includes n extensions, where n is a positive integer. Each extension has a first base and an aperture extends through the extension from a first side to a second side. The first connector also includes at least (n+y) plates, where y is selected from the group consisting of (−1, +1) such that the sum of (n+y) is a positive integer. The plate or plates are positioned in and coupled to the extensions in an alternating arrangement. Each plate includes a plate base aligned substantially in a plane with the first base of the extension to form a first connector mounting surface. A plurality of welds couple the plates to the extensions and the fabricated connector is then welded to the column segment. At least one extension is formed of steel having a grain structure elongated in a direction of rolling that is substantially perpendicular to the first base. | 06-26-2014 |
20160090728 | SELF-BRACING, TWO-WAY MOMENT FRAME PRECAST SYSTEM FOR INDUSTRIAL SUPPORT STRUCTURE AND METHOD OF UTILIZING SAME - A self-bracing, two-way moment frame precast system for industrial support structure and method of erecting a precast industrial support structure without temporary or permanent bracing or shoring are disclosed. This is accomplished by utilizing a moment frame element in two directions to create free standing tower that requires no bracing during erection or in service. The system also utilizes a connection that allows the erection crane to achieve alignment during erection such that the entire system can be erected by a ground based personnel. | 03-31-2016 |

20130333320 | SPACE FRAMES AND CONNECTION NODE ARRANGEMENT FOR THEM - In a double layer grid-type of space frame, certain framing members are connected at their opposite ends to separate node connectors carried by chords of the frame. The node connectors have spaced apart opposing surfaces that receive the framing members. A shear pin passage is formed through each framing member and through the opposing surfaces of the node connector. The shear pin connects the framing member to the node connector. | 12-19-2013 |
20140130438 | TRANSPORTABLE MODULAR SYSTEM FOR COVERED ISOLATION OF ASSETS - An easily assembled, transportable, re-deployable, modular, protective, double-roof system is disclosed which is compatible with other Modular Protective System (MPS) components and can be assembled in a variety of configurations to provide soldiers and equipment with protective enclosures. | 05-15-2014 |
20150143769 | STEEL-FRAME BUILDING, PLANT, AND METHOD FOR ASSEMBLING STEEL-FRAME BUILDING - A steel-frame building, which is installed permanently next to a stand-alone heavy structure and which can reduce a construction cost, a plant including the steel-frame building, and a method for assembling a steel-frame building are provided. The steel-frame building is installed permanently next to a stand-alone heavy structure, and includes a gantry frame which is used for pulling the whole of the stand-alone heavy structure to stand up. The gantry frame may be used for carrying in other devices to be housed in the steel-frame building. | 05-28-2015 |
