20080295428 | LOAD-RESISTING TRUSS SEGMENTS FOR BUILDINGS - The invention provides load-resisting segments (e.g., panels or frames for openings) for transmitting loads through a building structure. In the context of a wall, the load-resisting segments transmit shear loads downward to structural elements below the wall, such as to a building foundation. The load-resisting segments may comprise a truss configuration, i.e., an assembly of members forming a rigid framework. Each load-resisting segment can include web members and pairs of truss plates secured to sides of the segment to secure connections of the web members to each other and to other members. The wall segments can include beam-separation blocks that reduce truss plate failure by spacing apart the ends of two web members bearing against a chord or post to position the intersection point of the load paths of the web members with the load path of the chord or post. Some of the truss plates can include strips of material to provide additional resistance to tearing of the truss plate due to loads experienced by the truss plate. Some of the load-resisting segments, particularly frames for doors or windows, may include compression plates that prevent point-loading of studs or chords against transversely oriented members. For example, a truss frame may include compression plates between ends of its columns and surfaces of a header or sill structure. | 12-04-2008 |
20100064609 | OUTDOOR FLOORING, DECK AND PATIO SURFACE SYSTEM AND METHOD - A system and method for providing an outdoor flooring such as a lightweight deck surface, employs a fiber reinforced polymer structural panel with plural grid openings therein. Connectors adapted to interlock adjacent panels to one another and to a base, also are adapted for receiving support column members therein for providing ground or base oriented surface or an elevated surface. A surfacing material, such as a quarried stone or tile, is attached to the top of the panel, providing a deck surface without requiring substantial structural support. | 03-18-2010 |
20100126093 | END WALL PANEL - An end wall panel for an arch-style steel building is disclosed. The end wall panel is fabricated from metal sheet and consists of a plurality of upper flanges spaced apart from one another. The upper flanges are connected to lower flanges by a web section extending at an angle from the upper flange. Flange stiffeners also extend at an angle from the outermost upper flanges. The end wall panel provides increased strength in an arch-style steel building and can withstand critical wind loads without additional stiffeners. The end wall panel is also inexpensive to manufacture and install into an arch-style steel building. | 05-27-2010 |
20110131908 | STRUCTURE CONSTRUCTED USING PRECAST MEMBERS AND METHOD OF CONSTRUCTING THE SAME - The present invention provides a structure constructed using PC members and a method of constructing the structure. In the present invention, each of PC wall members ( | 06-09-2011 |
20130055669 | MODULAR BUILDING SYSTEM UTILIZING COMPOSITE, FOAM CORE PANELS - A system for constructing a structure comprises a plurality of composite panels having a laminate structure comprising a foam core to which are attached cover layers of the same or different material. One or both of the cover layers may be comprised of composite sub-layers. The system includes a number elongate and preferably extruded components for connecting the panels to form walls, roofs or floors for the structure. The system is modular, thereby allowing for a time and cost efficient means of erecting a structure. | 03-07-2013 |
20140318059 | BRACKET AND AN ARRANGEMENT FOR SUPPORTING A PRECAST SLAB ELEMENT OF CONCRETE ON A PRECAST STRUCTURE ELEMENT OF CONCRETE - A bracket that supports a precast structural element of concrete has: a first support part that casts at least partly into a support element of concrete; a bracket part movably fastened to the first support part by bolts, the bracket part having first through holes which are penetrated by the bolts, and the first support part having threaded holes for the bolts, the bolts having an outer diameter that is smaller than the inner diameter of the through holes in the bracket part to fasten the bracket part in various positions with respect to the first support part; and a second support part to cast at least partly into a precast structural element of concrete and to support on the bracket part. The second support part has a support plate having a slot with a second support surface for support on a first support surface of the bracket part. | 10-30-2014 |
