20080263936 | BIODEGRADABLE FISHING LURE AND MANUFACTURING METHODS - A fishing lure is composed of polyvinyl alcohol in combination with urea, agar or both to be highly performing and biodegradeable without requiring a freeze/thaw cycle. | 10-30-2008 |
20090313877 | FISHING LURE MANUFACTURING METHOD - A fishing lure manufacturing method is provided which includes automated and manual manufacturing methods for forming liquid plastic material into a lure having an embedded reinforcement. The method includes a rigid mold with a relief of the fishing lure to be created, and a rigid head pin and two rigid tail pins within the mold for holding an elongated reinforcement therein. A plurality of reliefs are arranged adjacent to one another in a mold. Reinforcement is strung between reliefs and around the pins forming an elongated V-shaped reinforcement within the lure relief. The relief is filled with liquid bait material, and the material encapsulates the reinforcement integrating it in the lure body as the material cures. The exposed reinforcement is cut away and the resulting lure has a head cavity at the base of the V-shaped reinforcement for alignment and insertion of a fishing hook. | 12-24-2009 |
20100071253 | FAKE FISHING BAIT DEVICE, AND METHODS OF CONSTRUCTING AND UTILIZING SAME - A re-usable fake fishing bait device which glows or glitters, is stronger and more resilient than real bait, which eliminates the excessive preparation, care and costs of real bait, and to which any desired scent or oil may be applied. | 03-25-2010 |
20110252690 | Angling Rig - An angling rig comprises a pebble of natural stone and, secured to the pebble, an attachment ring for attaching the pebble to a fishing line. The attachment ring is secured to the pebble by means of a swivel bonded by epoxy resin adhesive in a bore formed in the pebble. The invention provides an alternative to a lead weight which is non-toxic (and therefor ecologically desirable) and also of natural form (and therefore not perceived as threatening by fish), whereby anglers may both help the environment and expect better catches. | 10-20-2011 |
20120005946 | ECO-FRIENDLY, LEAD FREE, REPLACEABLE JIG HEAD SYSTEM - The invention generally relates to a modular fishing hook accessory mounting system for removably mounting a fishing accessory on a hook. The system includes a hook, a modular mounting member and a fishing accessory. The hook has a shank portion and an eye shank portion, the eye shank portion being located at one end of the shank portion. The modular mounting member is mounted on the hook for removably receiving a fishing accessory. The fishing accessory is removably mounted on the modular mounting member, the fishing accessory having a recess formed therein for slidably receiving at least a portion of a retaining member for retaining the retaining member and fishing accessory to the mounting member. The fishing accessory may be a jig head that is substantially lead-free, such as being made from a steel that has been powdered, pressed and sintered. Of course, the modular fishing hook accessory mounting system will work with lead jig head that is modified to be removable. | 01-12-2012 |
20120023805 | Interchangeable blade and lure fishing assembly - A fishing lure combination is disclosed which comprises a frame and an oscillating blade which may be affixed to the frame and then replaced without removing or untying a fishing line affixed to the frame. Also, the frame comprises a clip for replacing an associated weighted fishing lure, also without removing or untying the fishing line. | 02-02-2012 |
20130036655 | Method For Recycling Artificial Fishing Baits - A method for recycling soft artificial fishing baits comprising: providing used soft artificial baits to be recycled; providing a mold having two separable sides cooperatively defining at least one cavity therein, each cavity having a shape corresponding to a desired fishing bait, fastening means for releasably affixing the sides together, holding means for receiving baits and other materials to be integrated into finished lures manufactured using the method, the holding means arranged above each cavity and in fluid communication therewith and adapted to allow material of the used baits to flow into the cavity upon heating, at least one vent hole defined in each cavity near a bottom portion thereof, each hole in fluid communication with the atmosphere, each hole adapted to allow air within the cavity to flow out as material of the used baits flows into the cavity; placing used soft artificial baits into the holding means; placing the mold with artificial baits in the holding means into a microwave oven; heating the mold with artificial baits in the holding means for a time sufficient to melt the baits and cause material to fill each cavity; allowing the mold to cool for a time sufficient to allow the material in each cavity to solidify; opening the mold and removing each molded bait; and cutting away any excess material that may be attached to the bait. Added to the holding means may be conditioning materials such as glitter, salt, and the like adapted to modify the property of the melted bait material. The fastening means may comprise at least one clip adapted to slidingly engage the sides. The holding means may comprise a funnel adapted to be releasably received in a cooperating portion of the mold above each cavity. | 02-14-2013 |
20140041283 | Fishing Lure Apparatus and Method - A custom fishing lure and a method for making a custom fishing lure. The fishing lure generally comprises one or more beads threaded on an elastic band. The elastic band secures the bead to a fishing line and, in an embodiment, secures hackle and other components to the fishing lure. The method of the invention generally comprises stretching an elastic band, threading the stretched elastic band and a length of fishing line through the aperture of a bead, and then releasing the tension on the elastic band. In an additional embodiment, the method includes the additional steps of securing the ends of the elastic band so as to hold the elastic band in a stretched condition, threading hackle or other components partially through the bead aperture, and then releasing the ends of the elastic band to secure the hackle or other component on the fishing lure. This method allows the angler to quickly and easily create an unlimited variety of lures to imitate insects, fish, crustaceans, and bugs for all fishing environments. | 02-13-2014 |
20140082993 | BOBBIN HOLDER FOR TYING THREAD FOR MAKING FISHING FLIES AND METHOD FOR FASTENING DUBBING USING THIS BOBBIN HOLDER - A bobbin holder ( | 03-27-2014 |

20160135440 | Accessory for a Treble Fishing Hook - An accessory for a treble fishing hook features an attachment body spanning about a longitudinal axis on which an opening extends into said attachment body. The attachment body has a plurality of slots spaced apart around said longitudinal axis, and each slot has a first leg extending axially into the attachment body from a first axial end of the attachment body toward an opposing second axial end thereof. Each slot is arranged to receive and engage an intermediate portion of a respective hook of the fishing hook into the slot via an open end of the first leg of the slot at the first axial end of the attachment body. The attachment hangs from the intermediate portions of the hooks to support a dressing on the treble hook while leaving the tips or points of the hooks unobscured for normal use during a fish bite. | 05-19-2016 |
