20140215879METHOD FOR LOADING A WEAPON IN LINE WITH THE RATE OF FIRE - A revolver cylinder is rotated at least approximately at a speed that corresponds to the normal rate of fire of a weapon. When a predetermined loading step is reached, the trigger of the weapon is controlled such that fire can be opened essentially without delay. The weapon is fired without break immediately after (with) the loading process. At the same time, the weapon is transferred, thus only directly before firing, from a secure SAFE state to the CHARGED state, whereby the safety standards of the weapon are significantly improved. The time during which the weapon is in the state of operational and firing readiness and not in the SAFE state is minimized or entirely eliminated, which considerably increases the operating safety. Extending the time in the SAFE state allows the level of testing for the weapon (for example for the trigger) to be greater, which in turn results in greater reliability of the weapon.08-07-2014

20140331536Yoke And Cylinder Retaining Mechanism - A revolver has a spring biased rod that extends from the cylinder, the rod having a tip that engages a portion of the frame to retain the cylinder within the aperture of the frame during firing. The rod is movable out of engagement with the frame portion to release the cylinder and allow it to pivot on a yoke for ejection of spent shells and reloading. A pin is mounted in the yoke so as to engage a recess in the frame when the cylinder is within the aperture of the frame. The pin retains the cylinder within the aperture and is spring loaded and movable out of engagement with the recess to permit the cylinder to pivot on the yoke for ejection of spent shells and reloading.11-13-2014
20150338177Revolver with Two Chambers Cylinder - Provided is a revolver with a two chambers cylinder, of the type having a low profile and with no protruding parts from the frame. The revolver includes a frame which has a grip at its rear portion, a trigger at its lower portion and a barrel at its front portion. The frame further includes a central opening that defines the cylinder housing. The cylinder has an oblong shape and has two chambers, radially opposite with respect to the rotation axis of the cylinder. The cylinder rotation before firing is obtained by means of the trigger actuation, which causes an upward movement of the cylinder impeller and the consequent rotation of the gear, due to interaction between the pinion and the teeth of the cylinder impeller. The transfer of the rotational movement of the gear to the cylinder is made from a ratchet, which is partially arranged within said cylinder.11-26-2015

20090077853"No-skip upon recocking revolver": after decocking, the cylinder does not advance skipping a round when recocked - In a single or double action revolver, an improvement that prevents the cylinder from advancing upon being recocked should the revolver be decocked (uncocked) without firing. During or after decocking, a pawl (hand) retainer may be automatically set or manually set by the shooter. When the retainer is set it prevents the pawl from engaging the cylinder ratchet and rotating the cylinder past a live round when recocked. The retainer may be automatically or manually reset so that the cylinder will advance when the revolver is subsequently recocked.03-26-2009
20110083351FIREARM INDEXING MECHANISM - A revolver includes a frame; a hammer rotatably coupled to the frame; a trigger mounted on the frame and movably coupled to the hammer; a cylinder rotatably mounted on the frame and having more than six chambers, each of the chambers adapted to receive a cartridge, wherein the cylinder is rotatable into discrete firing positions; and a pawl connected to the hammer for moving the cylinder between the discrete firing positions.04-14-2011
20140190053LIGHT-WEIGHT FIRING CONTROL HOUSING FOR REVOLVER - A revolver with light-weight firing control housing includes a cylinder frame supporting a rotatable cylinder defining a plurality of cartridge-receiving chambers and a firing control housing made of a non-metallic material. The firing control housing attaches to the cylinder frame and supports firing control mechanism components, such as a trigger and a pivotable hammer actuated by the trigger. 20090199450No-skip recocking revolver pawl retainer - A pawl retainer for a revolver operates to prevent the cylinder from advancing after decocking, thus allowing safe holstering while maintaining uncompromised fire power. The retainer may be automatically or manually “set” so that, when the gun is recocked, the cylinder does not advance, and, after firing or a misfire, the cylinder advances normally. A cocked revolver can discharge accidentally. This is because Andrew Fyrberg's 1891 safety transfer bar invention cannot function to prevent an accidental discharge while a revolver is cocked. Nonetheless, shooters in pursuit, for example, are tempted to holster a cocked revolver to avoid skipping a live round that may be needed for the kill.08-13-2009
20100170129FIREARM HAVING NONMETALLIC COMPONENTS - A firearm comprising a frame, a barrel with a firing axis connected to the frame, a cylinder pivotally attached to the frame and positioned within an opening in the frame and having a plurality of firing chambers sized to receive a cartridge, and a firing mechanism including a trigger attached to the frame to actuate the firing mechanism, wherein the frame is substantially nonmetallic and includes at least one metal insert having a polymer over-molding. A cylinder retaining mechanism selectively retains the cylinder in a first position within a window in the frame and comprises a biasing pin operatively attached to a yoke and which is oriented in a direction substantially transverse to the bore axis when the cylinder is in the first position.07-08-2010
20140047752Concealable Revolver - The present invention is a spring-actuated, concealable revolver utilizing a flattened cylinder shape and a unique off-chamber placement of the cylinder when in a stowed safe mode. An extendable grip tag may also be employed to provide a further reduced profile. Various grip styles, unloading mechanisms and advancing actions may be employed with the revolver. Single and double action embodiments are disclosed.02-20-2014
20150047243Ratcheting Mechanism for a Revolver - A firearm utilizing a ratcheting system to rotate a cylinder containing ammunition is disclosed. The ratchet system is designed to accommodate the cylinder being in an initial safe (without a chamber centered over the barrel and hammer) and subsequent active positions. A ratchet arm protrudes through the breach plate and is supported thereon as it pushes ratchet pads on the cylinder from a starting point in either position to the next active position. Numerous designs for the ratchet pads and the ratchet arm are disclosed, as is a stepped drawbar to accommodate the workings of the firearm and a locking bar that interfaces with both the hammer and locking notches in the circumference of the cylinder so as to release and secure the cylinder in appropriate positions.02-19-2015

20140026458Firing Pin Blocking Safety - A safety for a firearm includes a blocking member that has a relieved portion adjacent to a relieved portion of a firing pin of the firearm. The blocking member is movable between a safe position wherein the relieved portions are not in registration and a fire position wherein the relieved portions are in registration. The blocking member moves from the safe to the fire position in response to a pull of the firearm's trigger. Movement of the blocking member is rotational in response to a pawl as would also be used to rotate the cylinder of a revolver.01-30-2014

20140059912Rimless Cartridge Extractor Assembly And Method Of Use - A rimless cartridge cylinder assembly is used for adapting revolvers which typically require the use of rimmed cartridges to accept rimless cartridges. The assembly includes an extractor mechanism having an extractor rod extending axially through a center passage provided in a cylinder having chambers adapted to receive cartridges. The extractor mechanism has an axially extendable extractor head assembly disposed at a cartridge loading end of the cylinder. The head assembly includes a plurality of spring biased projections housed therein which extend radially into engagement with corresponding grooves in rimless cartridges as they are loaded into each chamber. After discharge, rearward displacement of the head assembly allows the engaged projections to remove the spent cartridges from each chamber. Utilizing the rimless cartridge cylinder assembly, rimless cartridges typically used only with automatic hand guns can be loaded and fired in a revolver with long term reliably.03-06-2014
20160084604Dummy Cylinder for a Revolver - A dummy cylinder for a revolver that permits dry fire practice but does not permit the insertion of live ammunition.03-24-2016
