20080209708 | Method and Device for Removing Chip of Connecting Rod - A method and a device for removing the chips of a connecting rod. The large end part of the connecting rod is placed on the step part of a pedestal, and the small end part thereof is placed on a pedestal formed of a vibration damping material. An air vibrator is energized to continuously supply compressed air to vibrate the large end part together with the pedestal until the vibrated large end part is brought into contact with a contact plate member. When chips fall from the rod body and the cap part of the connecting rod, the chips are collected to a transparent collection bag through a suction hose by a dust collector. The operations above are performed in a sound isolation box closed by a cover member. Then, the chips are separated from the broken-out sections of the rod body and the cap part by using, for example, a brush. | 09-04-2008 |
20080209709 | Container uncapping mechanism and method - Apparatus and method for handling a container having a removable cover, e.g., a vial for holding a biological fluid specimen. The container may have therein an internal element that is releasably coupled to the cover, such as an assembly for processing the specimen in the container. The method involves applying an external force to the covered container sufficient to release the internal element from the cover, and then dislodging the cover from the container. The external force may be an acceleration force applied to the container, such as an impact force to the bottom of the container, or direct contact with the cover with sufficient force to deflect the cover inwardly. A vertically mounted pressing member and a movably mounted gripper can be used. The pressing member may act to eject the cover from the gripper after the container is clear of the gripper. The apparatus may be part of an automated system for processing multiple liquid-based specimens. | 09-04-2008 |

The sleeve is then pulled using the sleeve puller consisting of a cylindrical tube with an expansible knurled grip at its inner end and an external hex containing a left-hand threaded hole at its outer end through which an expander shaft is threadably attached. The expander shaft has a conical expander at its inner end and a transverse hole and an axial right-hand threaded hole at its outer end. The inner end of the sleeve puller is inserted into the sleeve and the T-handle is attached to the transverse hole at its outer end. The T-handle is turned clockwise and the expansible knurled grip is forced into strong contact with the inner wall of the sleeve. The T-handle is removed and a wrench is used to grip the exterior hex at the outer end of the sleeve puller tube and the sleeve puller is twisted left-and-right sharply until the sleeve breaks free from the housing. 20150290398 | SHARP EXTRACTOR AND METHOD OF EXTRACTING A SHARP FROM A MEDICAL DEVICE - A sharp extractor has a ram that is actuatable to move from a disengaged position to an engaged position to dislodge a sharp from a medical device, and then return back to the disengaged position. With the medical device secured in axial alignment with the ram, the actuator is actuated to move to its engaged position, whereupon the sharp is detached from the medical device. The dislodged sharp is channeled directly into a medical waste container. Upon removing the sharp from the medical device, the medical device can be treated as standard medical waste, thereby reducing the cost associated with disposal of the medical device. With the volume of the sharp being greatly reduced as a result of removal from the relatively bulky medical device, the frequency of having to dispose the sharps can be greatly reduced, thereby further reducing cost associated with the disposal of the sharps. | 10-15-2015 |
20150290785 | PULLER FOR PULLEY OF SUPERCHARGER - A puller for removing a pulley off of the shaft is disclosed. The puller may have proximal and distal plates that are disposable around the pulley so that the pulley is disposed entirely between the proximal and distal plates. These plates are held together by frame members. A push rod is threadably engaged to a proximal plate and operative to be further inserted into the proximal plate so that a distal end of the push rod may push against the shaft and transfer a removing force through the puller to the backside of the pulley for removing the pulley off of the shaft. | 10-15-2015 |
20150330053 | A COUPLER - A coupler assembly for coupling implements of the type having two connecting pins, to a vehicle. The coupler has a body component that is connectable to the vehicle, and the body component includes a forward recess for receiving a first connecting pin of an implement. The coupler also has a movable component which is supported by the body component and which is movable through a range of travel relative to the body component. The movable component includes, or forms a part of an aft recess for receiving a second connecting pin of the implement. An actuator selectively moves the movable component relative to the body component. A rear locking member is a part of the movable component and a rear lock actuator allows the rear locking member to be employed to prevent the second connecting pin from exiting the aft recess. | 11-19-2015 |
20160001430 | METER PULLER WITH SAFETY SHIELD - A tool for installing and removing an electrical power meter comprising a sleeve member adapted for sliding movement about the meter and having a first end opposite a second end, a plurality of releasable gripping hooks mounted on the first end of the sleeve member for selectively engaging the meter, an attaching hook member extending outwardly from the first end of the sleeve member, and a shield secured to the second end of the sleeve member. | 01-07-2016 |
20160023334 | Universal Joint Dismantling Tool - A universal joint (U-joint) dismantling tool includes an actuator coupled to a yoke. The yoke has two substantially parallel legs, spaced to form a pull channel therebetween. Each yoke leg terminates in a free end defining a foot surface. The actuator is adapted to substantially linearly draw a puller at least partially along a length of the yoke pull channel, thereby increasing a distance between a pull surface and the yoke foot surfaces. | 01-28-2016 |
20160024807 | DRYWALL SHEET REMOVAL TOOL - Disclosed herein are drywall sheet removal tools, comprising: a handle; and a plurality of tines; wherein an angle between a line of the handle and a plane defined by the plurality of tines is between 45° and 90°. Also disclosed are methods of removing a drywall sheet from a wall, the method comprising: creating an opening along the width of the drywall sheet; inserting a plurality of tines of a drywall sheet removing tool of claim 1 into the opening, such that the plurality of tines straddle a stud; and moving a handle of the tool in a direction opposite to a direction the tines are pointing. | 01-28-2016 |
