20100077616 | METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR EXTENDED LIFE JOURNAL ASSEMBLY - A method of extending the life of a journal bearing assembly in a solid fuel pulverizer includes: removing a first lower journal bearing from a journal shaft and a lower bearing seat of a lower bearing housing; removing a first upper journal bearing from the shaft and an upper bearing seat of an upper bearing housing; modifying the lower and upper bearing seats; modifying lower and upper shoulders on the journal shaft; disposing the second lower and upper journal bearings on the modified lower and upper bearing seats; disposing a new journal bearing spacer between the second lower and upper journal bearings; disposing a new journal bearing collar between the upper shoulder and the second upper journal bearing; filling a cavity defined by the lower and upper journal housings with grease; and disposing a seal assembly between the shaft and one end of the upper journal housing opposite the lower journal housing to prevent the ingress of solid fuel into the cavity of the journal assembly. | 04-01-2010 |
20140020249 | Permanent Visual Indicator and Diametrical to Axial Relation Gage and Method of Using Same - A system and method for mounting a bearing assembly on a shaft includes an internal flange, external flange, and a sleeve. The internal flange is securable to the bearing assembly and has a displacement pin extending outward that defines an initial position of the bearing assembly relative to the shaft. The external flange is secured to the internal flange via fasteners passing through elongated holes. The external flange has an opening configured to receive the displacement pin. The external flange may be rotated when coupled to the internal flange with the fasteners between a first position where the external flange opening is not in register with the displacement pin and a second position where the external flange opening is in register with the displacement pin. A sleeve has a tapered outside diameter and is engageable with the external flange. | 01-23-2014 |
20140259673 | SPINDLE NUT AND WASHER ASSEMBLY AND METHOD OF UTILIZATION - An apparatus for and a method of securing hubs and bearings on truck spindles includes a flat or non-flat washer with a key and a nut having an integral and axially spaced locking ring with threads through the nut and locking ring complementary to threads on a spindle. The nut also includes a plurality of axially oriented threaded openings and a plurality of threaded fasteners that extend through apertures in the locking ring and into the threaded openings. An alternate embodiment includes a washer, a nut having threads complementary to threads on the spindle and a plurality of axially oriented threaded openings, a locking plate having a pattern of arcuate slots and a key which engages a keyway on the spindle and a plurality of fasteners which secure the locking plate to the nut in a desired position. | 09-18-2014 |
20150047200 | LIFT CYLINDER YOKE BEARING INSTALLER AND METHOD OF INSTALLATION - A system and method that includes a device that is used in a particular method to install bearings into a lift cylinder yoke bore. The device includes use of a hollow bore hydraulic push cylinder that maneuvers a push plate along a threaded rod. The push plate sinks or sets into the bearing and applies pressure through the movement of the hydraulic push cylinder to place the bearing into a fit position without the abrasion that is usually associated with the installation of bearings into the lift cylinder yoke bore. The threaded rod attaches to a threaded bushing that is inserted into the bore and secured with the use of a pin. The threaded rod extends out of the bore opening and allows for the attachment of a bearing, push plate, hydraulic push cylinder, washer and nut. | 02-19-2015 |
20150330499 | Method and Tools for Installation a Transmission Shift Cable End Bushing - Installation of a bushing into the shift cable end of an automatic transmission, without replacing the entire shift cable end, is accomplished via methods and specialized tools that do not require the use of compression tools, or divert the force applied by compressive tools away from the non-load-bearing surfaces of the bushing and shift cable end, and maintain the axial alignment of the bushing with the shift cable end during installation, thus preventing deformation of the shift cable end and bushing during installation, and ensuring the proper coupling of the shift cable end and shift lever. In particular embodiments, a shift cable end protective member is secured to the shift cable end, a bushing installation member is inserted into the bushing, through the shift cable end and into the protective member, and a compressive force is applied simultaneously to the protective member and installation member, thus pressing the bushing into place within the shift cable end. The protective member and installation member work in tandem to divert the compressive force away from the shift cable end, average the compressive force across the bushing, and maintain the alignment of the bushing with the shift cable end as the bushing is pressed into the shift cable end. In other embodiments, the bushing may be installed by hand without the use of a compression tool by utilizing an installation member carrying a compression cavity that allows for the compression of the bushing by hand. The installation member is passed through the shift cable end and removed, allowing the bushing to expand into place within the shift cable end. | 11-19-2015 |
20160159145 | BEARING DEVICE FOR A WHEEL - An assembling method includes fitting an entire range of the guide portion to the stem section with a gap therebetween, and inserting a bolt from an outboard side through a bolt insertion hole formed in the hub wheel. In this state, a maximum inclination angle of the bolt with respect to the hub wheel is set to be larger than a maximum inclination angle of the outer joint member with respect to the hub wheel. The method also includes connecting the bearing and the constant velocity universal joint to each other by threadedly engaging and fastening the bolt into a bolt hole formed in the stem section. | 06-09-2016 |
20220142027 | DEVICE FOR ESTIMATING CAUSE OF MOUNTING ERROR, AND METHOD FOR ESTIMATING CAUSE OF MOUNTING ERROR - A device for estimating a cause of a mounting error includes a first determination section configured to perform a process of determining whether the error occurrence status is biased under a condition that an individual as the first factor is specified according to a difference in the second factor, on each of multiple individuals as the first factor, a second determination section configured to perform a process of determining whether the error occurrence status is biased under a condition that an individual as the second factor is specified according to a difference in the first factor, on each of multiple individuals as the second factor, and a cause estimation section configured to estimate a causative individual causing the mounting error based on determination results in the first determination section and the second determination section. | 05-05-2022 |
