20100263907 | WEB FOR SEPARATING CONDUCTORS IN A COMMUNICATION CABLE - A telecommunications cable and separator spline. In one example the cable includes a cable jacket defining an elongate cable core, a conductor assembly including four twisted pairs of conductors disposed along the core and a plurality of parallel elongate localized and like distensions in an inner surface of the cable jacket. The distensions are substantially evenly spaced about an inner surface of the cable jacket and prevent the conductor assembly from coming into contact with the inner surface. In one example, the distensions are the result of a series of filler elements placed between the cable jacket and the cable core and which wind helicoidally along and about the cable core. The separator spline is comprised of first and second elongate dividing strips having a substantially H shaped cross section and arranged side by side. The spline twists helicoidally along its length. In one example the separator spline and the insulation surrounding the twisted pairs of conductors is manufactured form a material having the same dielectric constant. | 10-21-2010 |
20100147550 | DATA CABLE WITH STRIATED JACKET - Cables including a plurality of twisted pairs of insulated conductors, a separator disposed among the plurality of twisted pairs so as to physically separate a first twisted pair from a second twisted pair, and a jacket surrounding the plurality of twisted pairs and the separator. The jacket may include a plurality of protrusions extending away from an inner circumferential surface of the jacket toward a center of the cable. The plurality of protrusions are configured so as to hold the plurality of twisted pairs away from the inner circumferential surface of the jacket, and may provide an air gap between the plurality of twisted pairs of insulated conductors and the inner circumferential surface of the jacket. | 06-17-2010 |
20100096160 | HIGH PERFORMANCE DATA CABLE - The present invention is for a high performance data cable which has an interior support or star separator. The star separator or interior support extends along the longitudinal length of the data cable. The star separator or interior support has a central region. A plurality of prongs or splines extend outward from the central region along the length of the central region. Each prong or spline is adjacent with at least two other prongs or splines. The prongs or splines may be helixed or S-Z shaped as they extend along the length of the star separator or interior support. Each pair of adjacent prongs or splines defines grooves which extend along the longitudinal length of the interior support. At least two of the grooves have disposed therein an insulated conductor. The interior support can have a first material and a different second material. The different second material forms an outer surface of the interior support. | 04-22-2010 |
20090120664 | DATA CABLE WITH CROSS-TWIST CABLED CORE PROFILE - Cables including a plurality of twisted pairs of insulated conductors, a separator disposed among the plurality of twisted pairs so as to physically separate a first twisted pair from a second twisted pair, and a jacket surrounding the plurality of twisted pairs and the separator. In one example, a boundary of the air gap adjacent the inner circumferential surface of the jacket is arc shaped. | 05-14-2009 |
20090071691 | TWISTED PAIR CABLE HAVING IMPROVED CROSSTALK ISOLATION - A cable that provides reduced alien crosstalk between similar twisted pairs in cables that are in close proximity to one another and/or crosstalk between twisted pairs of the cable. In one example, a cable includes first, second and third twisted pairs, a shaped filler including a body portion and a plurality of tines extending outward from the body portion, the plurality of tines defining a plurality of channels in which the twisted pairs are individually disposed, and an outer jacket surrounding the twisted pairs and the shaped filler, wherein the shaped filler is constructed such that the body portion provides a first spacing between the first twisted pair and the second twisted pair, and one of the plurality of tines provides a second spacing between the second twisted pair and the third twisted pair, with the filler configured such that the second spacing is substantially smaller than the first spacing. | 03-19-2009 |
20090071690 | ELECTRICAL CABLE COMPRISING GEOMETRICALLY OPTIMIZED CONDUCTORS - A number of examples of insulated conductors having geometrically optimized shapes and form factors, that may be used in twisted-pair cables and other types of communication cable to enhance the performance of, and/or reduce the cost of manufacturing such cables. | 03-19-2009 |
20080251276 | DATA CABLE WITH CROSS-TWIST CABLED CORE PROFILE - Cables including a plurality of twisted pairs of insulated conductors and a jacket surrounding the plurality of twisted pairs of insulated conductors, the jacket including a plurality of protrusions extending away from an inner circumferential surface of the jacket toward a center of the cable. The plurality of protrusions are configured so as to hold the plurality of twisted pairs away from the inner circumferential surface of the jacket, and may provide an air gap between the plurality of twisted pairs of insulated conductors and the inner circumferential surface of the jacket, thereby reducing susceptibility of the plurality of twisted pairs to alien near end crosstalk. | 10-16-2008 |
