Description:
BACKGROUND OF THE DISCLOSURE
Field of the Disclosure
[0001] The disclosure relates to closure devices and more particularly pertains to a new closure device for sealing a bag when the bag has been opened.
SUMMARY OF THE DISCLOSURE
[0002] An embodiment of the disclosure meets the needs presented above by generally comprising a bag that has a top end. The top end is open. A funnel is provided and the bag is selectively inserted through the funnel. A cap is removably coupled to the funnel such that the cap closes the bag.
[0003] There has thus been outlined, rather broadly, the more important features of the disclosure in order that the detailed description thereof that follows may be better understood, and in order that the present contribution to the art may be better appreciated. There are additional features of the disclosure that will be described hereinafter and which will form the subject matter of the claims appended hereto.
[0004] The objects of the disclosure, along with the various features of novelty which characterize the disclosure, are pointed out with particularity in the claims annexed to and forming a part of this disclosure.
BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE DRAWINGS
[0005] The disclosure will be better understood and objects other than those set forth above will become apparent when consideration is given to the following detailed description thereof. Such description makes reference to the annexed drawings wherein:
[0006] FIG. 1 is a top perspective view of a container closure system according to an embodiment of the disclosure.
[0007] FIG. 2 is a front view of an embodiment of the disclosure.
[0008] FIG. 3 is a bottom view of an embodiment of the disclosure.
[0009] FIG. 4 is a perspective in-use view of an embodiment of the disclosure.
[0010] FIG. 5 is a top perspective in-use view of an embodiment of the disclosure.
[0011] FIG. 6 is a cross sectional view taken along line 6-6 of FIG. 5 of an embodiment of the disclosure.
DESCRIPTION OF THE PREFERRED EMBODIMENT
[0012] With reference now to the drawings, and in particular to FIGS. 1 through 6 thereof, a new closure device embodying the principles and concepts of an embodiment of the disclosure and generally designated by the reference numeral 10 will be described.
[0013] As best illustrated in FIGS. 1 through 6, the container closure system 10 generally comprises a bag 12 that has a top end 14 and the top end 14 is open. The bag 12 may be a plastic bag or the like. Additionally, the bag 12 may contain a food item 16 or the like. A funnel is 18 provided and the bag 12 is selectively inserted through the funnel 18.
[0014] The funnel 18 includes a coupler 20 and a dome 22. The dome 22 has an aperture 24 extending therethrough and the aperture 24 is centrally positioned on the dome 22. The dome 22 has an outer surface 26. The coupler 20 is coupled to and extends away from the outer surface 26. The coupler 20 has a distal end 30 with respect to the outer surface 26. The distal end 30 is open and the coupler 20 is substantially hollow.
[0015] The coupler 20 is positioned to surround the aperture 24. The coupler 20 has an outermost surface 32 and the outermost surface 32 is threaded. The top end 14 of the bag 12 is extended through the aperture 24 and folded around the outermost surface 32. Thus, the coupler 20 defines an opening 34 into the bag 12.
[0016] A cap 36 is removably coupled to the funnel 18 such that the cap 36 closes the bag 12. The cap 36 has a first wall 38 and an outer wall 40 extending away from the first wall 38. The first wall 38 is coextensive with an outer edge 42 of the first wall 38. The first wall 38 threadably engages the outermost surface 32 such that the bag 12 is compressed between the cap 36 and the coupler 20. The cap 36 may form an air impermeable seal with the coupler 20. Thus, the cap 36 may preserve freshness of the food item 16 in the bag 12.
[0017] In use, the top end 14 of the bag 12 is opened and the food item 16 is consumed. The top end 14 of the bag 12 is through the dome 22 and the coupler 20 such that the bag 12 extends outwardly from the distal end 30 of the coupler 20. The bag 12 is folded downwardly along the outermost surface 32 of the coupler 20. The cap 36 is removably coupled to the coupler 20. Thus, the bag 12 is closed to preserve freshness of remaining food item 16 in the bag 12.
[0018] With respect to the above description then, it is to be realized that the optimum dimensional relationships for the parts of an embodiment enabled by the disclosure, to include variations in size, materials, shape, form, function and manner of operation, system and use, are deemed readily apparent and obvious to one skilled in the art, and all equivalent relationships to those illustrated in the drawings and described in the specification are intended to be encompassed by an embodiment of the disclosure.
[0019] Therefore, the foregoing is considered as illustrative only of the principles of the disclosure. Further, since numerous modifications and changes will readily occur to those skilled in the art, it is not desired to limit the disclosure to the exact construction and operation shown and described, and accordingly, all suitable modifications and equivalents may be resorted to, falling within the scope of the disclosure. In this patent document, the word "comprising" is used in its non-limiting sense to mean that items following the word are included, but items not specifically mentioned are not excluded. A reference to an element by the indefinite article "a" does not exclude the possibility that more than one of the element is present, unless the context clearly requires that there be only one of the elements.
