DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF PREFERRED EMBODIMENT

[0002] Cut a piece of printed polyester cotton material, polyester batting, white cotton sheeting, and a layer of solid colored polyester cotton material to a size of 63.5 cm.times.81.28 cm each. You start with the white cotton sheeting and draw sew lines (shown in FIG. 2 by the broken lines). The first line starts at the one end of fabric 10.16 cm from right outside edge of fabric (this will be the head of cushion) and goes downward for 27.94 cm increasing at an angle from 10.16 cm to 17.78 cm wide, and then continuing to the end of the fabric at 17.78 cm wide. This is repeated on the left outside edge of fabric. Starting from the top, go down 27.94 cm and draw a sew line from the right outside edge (at the head of cushion) to the left edge of fabric. After drawing your sew lines onto fabric (with disappearing ink pen) place the printed piece of fabric, print side down. Next place the piece of cut batting on top of the printed material and on top of that place the cut piece of white cotton shooting (with sew lines). With sew lines outward. Make sure all edges are together and even, then pin these 3 layers together around outer edge. Next with either white or thread matching printed material sew these 3 layers on the sew lines, making sure to sew all sew lines. Next place the 3 pieces of material, that is sewn together, on a table with the print side up. Next take the cut colored material and place wrong side out, on top of the printed material (this colored material can be printed if desired). Next you pin all four layers together around the outer edge making sure to catch all 4 layers and making sure the edges are even with each other. Next machine sew a 3/8 inch seam from top to bottom on the left and right side of the pinned together material. Next on the head end of material start 10.16 cm from left edge and sew a 3/8 inch seam across for 43.18 cm (this is actually from one sew line to other sew line) you need to leave a 2 inch gap to allow stuffing. Sewing these lines are easier if you do it from the white side of cushion where sew lines are visible. After sewing the 4.sup.th piece of fabric onto the other 3 you will need to stuff the head areas (FIG. 2, Reference lines 1, 2, and 3) with polyester stuffing, making the middle area (FIG. 2, Reference line 2) softer than the 2 outer areas (FIG. 2, Reference lines 1 and 3), stuff between the batting and white layer of material. You will then sew a 3/8 inch seam all the way across the top of the head area to close the areas left open to stuff this area. Next you will take the solid colored piece of material and turn this right side out. You will now have the printed material right side out and the colored side right side out. Next you will stuff the areas on each side of the cushion (FIG. 2, Reference 4) you can do this by hand or use a stuffing machine. Place polyester stuffing between the layer of batting and the white polyester material. Stuff these areas firmly. Next sew the printed material, batting and white polyester cotton material together at the foot end of the cushion. This closes up the area stuffed on each side, sew from one edge to the other. Next take the 3 pieces that you just sewed together and turn the foot side edges to the inside, also take the colored material and turn the edge of this inside and pin these pieces together with sew a 3/8 seam that goes from one edge to the other closing the foot area of the cushion. FIG. 1 shows cushion from head end. FIG. 2 shows an top view of the cushion, showing in the drawing that the broken lines represent stitching, forming part of the claimed invention, with reference lines 1, 2 and 3 showing the head stuffed areas, reference line 4 showing the side stuffed areas and reference line 5 showing the flat area. FIG. 3 shows cushion from foot end. Cushion bottom is padded with polyester batting that extends from head to foot of the cushion covering the entire bottom of cushion. The sleeping/resting cushion for infants or toddlers is machine washable and dryable.
