BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
[0004] (1) Field of Invention
[0005] The present relates to a holster that can securely and removably carry various stationery items and which has a clip so that the holster can be securely and removably clasped to an article of clothing or other surfaces. The present invention also can securely carry the cell phone of the user.
[0006] (2) Background of Invention
[0007] A stationery holder is commonly placed on the top of a desk to hold various stationeries, such as pens, pencils, markers, paper clips, note-pads, and name cards, for convenient access. The stationery holders that are available in the market are of substantially the same construction, which forms a number of cells or compartments. The compartments may be of different shapes and sizes to receive and hold different kinds of stationery. In other words, these conventional stationery holders are designed to receive and hold substantially the same kinds of stationery.
[0008] Pens, pencils and other stationery items are usually carried in shirt pockets or pencil boxes. Pens are normally carried in shirt pockets, often in the familiar pocket protector. Pencil boxes and cases for carrying pens are also familiar. It is also common to see devices for holding a pen at a place of use, such as a gripper attached to a telephone or a sleeve attached to a notebook.
[0009] However, problems can arise when people wear clothes that do not have pockets that can easily carry pens and they do not wish to hand carry a separate case for pens. One of the solutions to the situation is attaching a pen to an article of apparel that can be attached to the wearer.
[0010] U.S. Patent Application No. 20060150457 A1, issued Jul. 13, 2006, to Thomas G, provides a badge holder, memo pad, and combination badge holder and memo pad. This invention relates to a badge holder and memo pad that have a clip positioned on a back cover for being carried on an article of clothing, such as a belt. Notebooks and badge holders are used to perform various functions.
[0011] U.S. Pat. No. 5,718,023, issued Feb. 17, 1998, to Thomas P. Billish, discloses a pen holder with a clip. Billish provides a holder that can securely and removably hold pens, pencils, other writing instruments, and similarly shaped objects, and which has a clip so that the holder can be securely and removably clasped to an article of clothing and alternatively can be clasped to other surfaces.
[0012] U.S. Pat. No. 6,345,752, issued Feb. 12, 2002, to Leonard T. Chapman, discloses a pen holder that can be attached to a belt or waist band.
[0013] The above mentioned prior arts provide a holder with a singular compartment for carrying various stationery items, and do not comprise the secure retaining means for such stationery items.
[0014] Accordingly, a need remains for a holster that can securely and removably carry various stationery items and the like.
[0015] As such, it may be appreciated that there continues to be a need for a new and improved stationery holster, as set forth by the instant invention, which addresses the problems of ease of use as well as effectiveness in construction in providing the holster that can securely and removably carry various stationery items. In this respect, the present invention substantially fulfills this need.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION
[0032] Various aspects of the illustrative embodiments will be described using the terms commonly employed by those skilled in the art to convey the substance of their work to others skilled in the art. However, it will be apparent to those skilled in the art that the present invention may be practiced with only some of the described aspects. For purposes of explanation, specific numbers, materials, and configurations are set forth in order to provide a thorough understanding of the illustrative embodiments. However, it will be apparent to one skilled in the art that the present invention may be practiced without the specific details. In other instances, well-known features are omitted or simplified in order to not obscure the illustrative embodiments.
[0033] In some preferred embodiments, the present invention provides a stationery holster that has a front surface and a back surface. The holder has two or three compartments or pockets, preferably, three compartments or pockets, wherein the stationery items are secured in the pocket and are easily removable. The holster is used to accommodate stationery items, namely, pens, pencils, markers, note-pads, and other stationery items. When the holster is comprised of three compartments or pockets, the third pocket is used to carry the cell phone. Each pocket utilizes the snap-button and/or Velcro at its opening to securely and removably carry the stationery items.
[0034] In another embodiment, the front surface of the stationery holster has been made in various themes and patterns, such as seasonal, career style, neutral, sport themes, and in pastel colors. This provides an elegant and aesthetic look to the holster.
[0035] A further embodiment discloses the holster having a clip attached to the body and located at the back surface so that the holder can be removably clasped to a surface, such as a belt, a waist band, and other similar surfaces.
[0036] With reference now to the drawings, and in particular to FIGS. 1 to 3 thereof, a new and improved stationery holster embodying the principles and concepts of the present invention is described herein.
[0037] Referring to FIG. 1, an embodiment of the stationery holster, according to this invention, is designated generally by the reference character 10. The overall assembly of the stationery holster includes a front surface 11 and a back surface 12, wherein the front surface is comprised of the various pockets/compartments 14-16, along with the decorative elements 17, and the back surface is comprised of the clip 18 for attachment means.
[0038] Other than the clip, the holster also involves the back slit 19, to pass a belt through it and provide extra security while carrying the holster with an article of clothing.
[0039] As shown in FIG. 1, the stationery holster includes three pockets and/or compartments. The first pocket 14 is a pen pocket, which is used to carry the pen/pencil/marker or the like stationery items in a vertical position, with the ends the pen protruding out of pocket 14. This allows easy removal of a pen from the pocket of the holster.
[0040] The second pocket 15 is utilized for keeping note-pads, sticky notes, and pull-up notes, providing a quick and easy accessibility to the stationery items kept in the pocket. The third and the last pocket 16, is meant for carrying the cell phone of the user.
[0041] Conventional fasteners, including Velcro hooks and loop fasteners, buttons, or snaps, are provided to close the each pocket of the holster. The holster 20 is made of soft colorful fabric, whereas the holster 21 is made with denim fabric, each comprising all parts and elements, as already discussed with the help of the FIG. 1.
[0043] In accordance with the invention, FIG. 3 represents the perspective view of another stationery holster 30, that is decorated with the decorative pearls 31, ribbon 32, decorative inspirational charm 33, and with the pockets 34 and 35. for holding a pen and notebook, respectively.
[0044] Turning to the material, the stationery holster is also to be made in leather. Other than the fabric material, the fabric stationery holster is cleaned easily by mild soap and cold water. The holster involves the various decorative accessories or articles at the front surface, and a metallic clip on the back surface. The interior of the holster is comprised of the cardboard and/or plastic lining in between the material to provide strength and support to the holster.
[0045] The advantage and benefits associated with the stationery holster are practical and efficient. The stationery holster is light-weight and small, and can be easily carried in a handbag, luggage or in a vehicle.
[0046] As may now be appreciated from the above description and reference to the accompanying drawings, the present invention provides a stationery holster that may be utilized by the user to carry various stationery items securely and removably. The present inventive stationery holster can also securely carry the cell phone of the user.
[0047] It is to be understood that the above description is intended to be illustrative, and not restrictive. For example, the above-discussed embodiments may be used in combination with each other. Many other embodiments will be apparent to those of skill in the art upon reviewing the above description.
[0048] With respect to the above description, it is to be realized that the optimum dimensional relationships for the parts of the invention, to include variations in size, materials, shape, form, function and manner of operation, assembly, and use, are deemed readily apparent and obvious to one skilled in the art, and all equivalent relationships to those illustrated in the drawings and described in the specification are intended to be encompassed by the present invention.
[0049] Therefore, the foregoing is considered as illustrative only of the principles of the invention.
