Description:
BACKGROUND OF THE DISCLOSURE
Field of the Disclosure
[0001] The disclosure relates to pipe support devices and more particularly pertains to a new pipe support device for securing a plurality of pipes in a desired configuration for subsequent manipulations.
SUMMARY OF THE DISCLOSURE
[0002] An embodiment of the disclosure meets the needs presented above by generally comprising a panel that is rigid and flat. A plurality of openings is positioned in the panel, such that the plurality of openings is configured to receive a corresponding plurality of pipes inserted through the openings. The pipes are frictionally retained in the openings and are in parallel alignment.
[0003] There has thus been outlined, rather broadly, the more important features of the disclosure in order that the detailed description thereof that follows may be better understood, and in order that the present contribution to the art may be better appreciated. There are additional features of the disclosure that will be described hereinafter and which will form the subject matter of the claims appended hereto.
[0004] The objects of the disclosure, along with the various features of novelty which characterize the disclosure, are pointed out with particularity in the claims annexed to and forming a part of this disclosure.
BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE DRAWINGS
[0005] The disclosure will be better understood and objects other than those set forth above will become apparent when consideration is given to the following detailed description thereof. Such description makes reference to the annexed drawings wherein:
[0006] FIG. 1 is an isometric perspective view of a templating pipe support device according to an embodiment of the disclosure.
[0007] FIG. 2 is a side view of an embodiment of the disclosure.
[0008] FIG. 3 is a top view of multiple embodiments of the disclosure.
[0009] FIG. 4 is an in-use view of an embodiment of the disclosure.
DESCRIPTION OF THE PREFERRED EMBODIMENT
[0010] With reference now to the drawings, and in particular to FIGS. 1 through 4 thereof, a new pipe support device embodying the principles and concepts of an embodiment of the disclosure and generally designated by the reference numeral 10 will be described.
[0011] As best illustrated in FIGS. 1 through 4, the templating pipe support device 10 generally comprises a panel 12 that is rigid and flat. The panel 12 may be rectangular, square or circular. A plurality of openings 14 is positioned in the panel 12. Each of the openings 14 has a center point 16 together defining a circle 18. The panel 12 has a top face 20 and a bottom face 22. Each of the openings 14 has a top perimeter 24 on the top face 20, an associated bottom perimeter 26 on the bottom face 22, and a medial perimeter 38 between the top face 20 and the bottom face 22. The medial perimeters 38 are shorter in length than the top perimeters 24 and associated bottom perimeters 26 such that each opening 14 is beveled extending into the panel 12 from the top face 20 and the bottom face 22. Each of the top perimeters 24 and bottom perimeters 26 may be of equivalent length and the beveling of an equivalent slope extending in from the top face 20 and the bottom face 22 such that the panel 12 is symmetrical relative to a central plane between the top face 20 and the bottom face. Each of the plurality of openings 14 is round. The plurality of openings 14 may comprise between 2 and 20 openings. More preferably, the plurality of openings 14 comprises between 3 and 16 openings. Most preferably, the plurality of openings 14 comprises between 4 and 12 openings. Each of the top perimeters 24 has an associated outer perimeter 28. Each of the top perimeters 24 and the associated outer perimeter 28 define a band 30. The bands 30 are separated by a plurality of spacers 32. The associated outer perimeters 28 and the plurality of spacers 32 define an interior zone 34 and an exterior zone 36. The exterior zone 36 may be open, the interior zone 34 may be open, or both the exterior zone 36 and the interior zone 34 may be open. Each of the top perimeters 24 has a length between 1.5 and 300 centimeters. More preferably, each of the top perimeters 24 has a length between 3 and 80 centimeters. Most preferably, each of the top perimeters 24 has a length between 6 and 30 centimeters.
[0012] In use, the plurality of openings 14 in panel 12 is configured to receive a corresponding plurality of pipes inserted through the associated bottom perimeters 26. The pipes are frictionally retained in the openings 14 through surface contact between the pipes and the top perimeters 24. The pipes are fixed in a configuration desired for manipulations of the ends of the pipes that include cutting, deburring, cleaning, gluing, and, ultimately, attachment of the pipes to another substrate. That substrate may be an indexing valve to regulate water flow in an irrigation system.
[0013] With respect to the above description then, it is to be realized that the optimum dimensional relationships for the parts of an embodiment enabled by the disclosure, to include variations in size, materials, shape, form, function and manner of operation, assembly and use, are deemed readily apparent and obvious to one skilled in the art, and all equivalent relationships to those illustrated in the drawings and described in the specification are intended to be encompassed by an embodiment of the disclosure.
[0014] Therefore, the foregoing is considered as illustrative only of the principles of the disclosure. Further, since numerous modifications and changes will readily occur to those skilled in the art, it is not desired to limit the disclosure to the exact construction and operation shown and described, and accordingly, all suitable modifications and equivalents may be resorted to, falling within the scope of the disclosure. In this patent document, the word "comprising" is used in its non-limiting sense to mean that items following the word are included, but items not specifically mentioned are not excluded. A reference to an element by the indefinite article "a" does not exclude the possibility that more than one of the element is present, unless the context clearly requires that there be only one of the elements.
