MULTI-LAYERED PILLOW COVER

Abstract

A pillow cover assembly includes a plurality of layers of pillow sheets bound together on one edge that can be flipped around the bound end like a book; an attachment system configured to attach the pillow sheets to pillow or a pillow case configured to house the pillow, wherein the attachment system is a plurality of straps with fasteners at each end; and a holding mechanism attached to a bottom layer of the plurality of layers of pillow sheets. Each layer of pillow sheets above the bottom layer has a hole in a position corresponding to a point of attachment of the holding mechanism on the bottom sheet, where the holding mechanism goes through the holes, and each layer of pillow sheets is longer than the one below.

[0003] This invention relates generally to a pillow sheet and more specifically to an assembly of multi-layered pillow sheets.

[0004] 2. Discussion of Related Art

[0005] Pillow cases are used by every household for covering pillows to prevent pillows from being soiled so that pillows do not need to be cleaned frequently. But even pillow cases get soiled from sweat, drool, and oils secreted from the face or hair. Most of the time, a household won't change and wash pillow cases every day because the pillow cases need to be removed from the pillows for washing and put back on after washing. Therefore, pillow cases are used for a while until the household has time for laundry, normally during the weekend. The soiled pillow cases are not healthy to skin. Sometimes, the soiled pillowcases have an unpleasant smell. It is not pleasant to sleep on a pillow case that has hair left on it either. But to replace pillow cases and clean them every day is troublesome and tedious. Therefore, it is necessary to have a product that can conveniently provide fresh smell, clean, smooth pillow sheet everyday without causing inconvenience and trouble.

[0006] One object of the present invention is to prevent acne. The idea is to have a fresh sheet each night which is good for skin care and will help prevent the development of face pimples.

[0007] Another object of the all satin pillow cover invention is to have no wrinkles on the face from sleeping on a crumpled sheet and to prevent bed hair.

[0008] The present invention is a multi-layered pillow cover assembly which includes an attachment that wraps around the pillow. The pillow cover assembly has a plurality of fresh sheets that can be turned like the pages of a book in the morning so as to allow a fresh new sheet to be exposed for the next night's sleep experience. The sheets for oily and combination skin are made of a layer of cotton on top stitched into a polyester sheet underneath. The cotton is able to absorb oils from ones skin and the polyester prevents oils from the skin from seeping through to the next sheet. The pillow sheets for dry skin and T-zone combination skin are made of satin polyester. The new sheet every day prevents pimples and the satin helps prevent wrinkles and bed hair.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF EXEMPLARY EMBODIMENTS

[0022] Referring to FIG. 1, there is disclosed a pillow cover assembly according to one embodiment of the present invention. FIG. 1 shows the back of the pillow cover assembly 10 around a pillow 20 and it is attached to the pillow 20 using a pair of straps 12 which have fabric hook and loop fasteners 13 such as Velcro at their ends.

[0023] FIG. 2 is a front view of the pillow cover assembly 10 of the present invention. As shown in FIG. 2, the pillow cover assembly 10 has a plurality of layers of pillow sheets 11. Said layers of pillow sheets are rectangular in shape and have two short edges and two long edges. Said layers of pillow sheets are held together on one of the short edges 14 and thus said layers of pillow sheets can be flipped around the short edge 14 like a book. The layers of pillow sheets may be bound together by sewing, or by other suitable fastening means. The pillow cover assembly 10 further comprises an attachment system 12 used to attach the pillow sheets 11 to a pillow 20 or a pillow case configured to house the pillow. Preferably, there are five to seven sheets 11 that can be turned each morning so that the user has a fresh pillow sheet for his or her head each night of the week. Once the five or seven sheets have been flipped the pillow cover assembly is removed from the pillow, washed and reused. The attachment system may include a pair of straps 12 and any suitable fastening means 13 at one end of each of straps. The fastening means may include not limited to fabric hook and loop fasteners such as Velcro hook and loop.

[0024] Each layer of sheets 11 is approximately 18 inches wide and 24-31 inches long. In one embodiment, each sheet is one inch longer than the one below so there is a space that a user can have for ease of turning each used sheet 11 over to expose the new fresh pillow sheet. The sheets 11 are made of soft and smooth materials, such as polyester satin or silk satin or mulberry silk satin--a very high end silk material, so that they are good for skin care and will help prevent the development of face wrinkles or pimples. Each sheet for oily skin is made of a layer of soft cotton on the top and polyester is attached on the bottom.

[0025] FIG. 3 illustrates how the sheets 11 can be flipped upon lifting up from the pillow. The used and soiled layer of sheet 11 is lifted up and flipped over around the bound end 14 so as to expose a new and fresh layer of pillow sheet.

[0026] FIG. 4 is a stand-alone pillow covering 30 that has a bit of a frill 31 on the edge of it for decoration. Satin pillow covering 30 is used on top of the pillow sheets 10.

[0027] In further embodiments of the invention, the five to seven layered satin pillow cover has two strings at a corner of the satin pillow sheet device for attaching the sheets to each other, so that sheets stay together when slept upon. The strings are attached to the last or bottom sheet. There is a hole in each sheet above the last or bottom sheet for the string to go through. The hole in each sheet should be positioned to correspond to the attachment point of the strings on the bottom sheet. The strings can be tied together, e.g., in a bow, to secure the pillow sheets together. Note that embodiments are not limited to strings for tying pillow sheets together, and any material or mechanism capable of holding these sheets together, such as Velcro straps, a button, etc., can be used in other embodiments of the invention.

[0028] FIG. 5 illustrates a pillow cover assembly 10 held together by a pair of strings 40 attached to a corner of the bottom cover sheet and threaded through a hole in each of the upper sheets. In FIG. 5, the strings are attached to the top right corner of the pillow, however, embodiments of the invention are not limited thereto, and the strings may be attached to any suitable location on the bottom cover sheet. FIG. 6 shows the pillow cover assembly 10 of FIG. 5 and the placement of the strings 40 with respect to a subjects head 45. The position of the strings does not interfere with the subject's sleep. FIG. 7 illustrates a pillow cover sheet being folded over after the holding strings 40 have been untied. FIG. 8 shows the pillow cover assembly 10 of FIG. 5 and the opening or hole 41 through which the strings 40 may go. Note that the opening or hole 41 is adapted to receiving other types of fasteners, such as Velcro straps or buttons.

Claims

1. A pillow cover assembly comprising: a plurality of layers of pillow sheets bound together on one edge that can be flipped around the bound end like a book; an attachment system configured to attach the pillow sheets to pillow or a pillow case configured to house the pillow, wherein the attachment system is a plurality of straps with fasteners at each end; and a holding mechanism attached to a bottom layer of the plurality of layers of pillow sheets, wherein each layer of pillow sheets above the bottom layer has a hole in a position corresponding to a point of attachment of the holding mechanism on the bottom sheet, wherein the holding mechanism goes through the holes, wherein each layer of pillow sheets is longer than the one below.

2. The pillow cover assembly of claim 1, wherein the fasteners comprise fabric hook and loop fasteners.

3. The pillow cover assembly of claim 1, wherein each layer of sheets is approximately 18 inches wide.

4. The pillow cover assembly of claim 3, wherein each layer of sheets is approximately 24-31 inches long.

5. The pillow cover assembly of claim 1, wherein each layer of sheets is made of satin/polyester or satin/silk or mulberry silk satin.

6. The pillow cover assembly of claim 1 preferably has 5-7 layers of sheets.

7. The pillow cover assembly of claim 1 further comprising a pillow covering which is wrapped around the pillow sheets to protect the clean sheets.

8. The pillow cover assembly of claim 1, wherein each layer of sheets comprises a layer of cotton stitched into a polyester sheet.

9. The pillow cover assembly of claim 1, wherein the holding mechanism includes a pair of strings, a pair of Velcro straps, or a button.

10. A pillow cover assembly comprising: a plurality of layers of pillow sheets bound together on one edge that can be flipped around the bound end like a book; a pillow covering which is wrapped around the pillow sheets to protect the clean sheets; an attachment system configured to attach the pillow sheets to pillow or a pillow case configured to house the pillow, wherein the attachment system is a plurality of straps with fasteners at each end; and a holding mechanism attached to a bottom layer of the plurality of layers of pillow sheets, wherein each layer of pillow sheets above the bottom layer has a hole in a position corresponding to a point of attachment of the holding mechanism on the bottom sheet, wherein the holding mechanism goes through the holes.

11. The pillow cover assembly of claim 10, wherein the fasteners comprise fabric hook and loop fasteners.

12. The pillow cover assembly of claim 10, wherein each layer of sheets is approximately 18 inches wide.

13. The pillow cover assembly of claim 12, wherein each layer of sheets is approximately 24-31 inches long.

14. The pillow cover assembly of claim 10, wherein each layer of sheets is made of satin/polyester or satin/silk or mulberry silk satin.

15. The pillow cover assembly of claim 10 preferably has 5-7 layers of sheets.

16. The pillow cover assembly of claim 10, wherein each layer of sheets is one inch longer than the one below.

17. The pillow cover assembly of claim 10, wherein each layer of sheets comprises a layer of cotton stitched into a polyester sheet.

18. The pillow cover assembly of claim 10, wherein the holding mechanism includes a pair of strings, a pair of Velcro straps, or a button.
