Description:
BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
[0001] 1. Field of Invention
[0002] The present invention relates to footwear that is to be utilized post-pedicure to protect the toenails of a user.
[0003] 2. Description of Related Art
[0004] Various types of sandals and toe separators are used during and post-pedicure. During a pedicure a pedicurist may apply nail polish over the toenails of the client. The application of the nail polish and the pedicuring of the foot and toenails are all part of the pedicure process. During application of the nail polish it is imperative that the toes remain separated in order to avoid problems with the application of nail polish onto the toenails. As a consequence, various types of pedicure sandals have been developed that include toe separators in order to allow the application of nail polish onto a user's toes and further to allow for the proper drying of the toes after the application of the nail polish. Some sandals have been developed that are used on a temporary basis that allow the client to leave the beautician's shop in order to continue on with their day. Since the recently applied nail polish may not be completely dry, the user cannot wear any shoes that cover or may interfere with the nail polish after leaving the salon. Consequently, various types of toe separators and sandals with toe separators have been developed for use by individuals who have recently experienced a pedicure.
SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION
[0005] The present invention relates to a sandal for use during or after a pedicure including: an inner sole; a toe divider along the top area of the inner sole, where the toe divider includes series of ridges; an inner strap; and an outer strap, where the inner strap and outer strap removably connect to each other over the top of a user's foot. The sandal further includes a means to connect the inner strap to the outer strap. In one particular embodiment, the means to connect may include a hook and loop connector. The inner strap and outer strap are preferably made of a flexible material. Further, the series of ridges preferably includes four ridges for placement between a user's toes.
BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF DRAWINGS
[0006] FIG. 1 depicts post-pedicure footwear in accordance with the present invention.
DETAILED DESCRIPTION
[0007] The present invention includes a flip flop or no-heel strap sandal that includes a series of toe dividers developed into the sandal with adjustable and removable straps that strap across the top of the foot during use of the sandals. The sandals include an outside strap that attaches to a inside strap through the use of a hook and loop connectors. The toe dividers include a series of four ridges that divide or insert into the four openings between the toes of an individual's foot. Therefore allowing the clear separation of the five toes. The sandal may be developed in a single use form and further may be used by an individual multiple times in other exemplary embodiments.
[0008] In reference to FIG. 1, a pair of post-pedicure sandals in accordance with the present invention is depicted. These post-pedicure sandals include a left sandal 20a and a right sandal 20b. Each sandal includes a toe divider 26a, 26b as shown on each sandal. The toe dividers 26a, 26b each include a series of four ridges that expand across the top portion of the inner sole of each sandal. These toe dividers 26a, 26b include four ridges therefore providing a independent toe division when placed on a user's foot. In addition to the toe divider, an outside strap 24a, 24b is provided on each sandal 20a, 20b. These outside straps 24a, 24b removable attach to a inside strap 22a, 22b to secure the sandal 20a, 20b across the foot of a user. Preferably, the outside strap 24a, 24b and inside strap 22a, 22b are secured together through the use of hook and loop connectors as shown in FIG. 1. In terms of material, each strap is made of elastic material therefore allowing a clear adjustment of each sandal onto a user's foot. This elastic strap allows for adjustment of the tightness and fit of the sandal to accommodate different sized feet. The present invention therefore provides an effective and dynamic post-pedicure footwear for a user. In addition, the sandals may be worn during a pedicure as to provide clear toe division during the application of nail polish onto the toenails of the user. After completion of the application of nail polish the outside and inside straps are attached for comfortable adjustment and use by a user. The ability to release and secure the straps enable the user to use the sandals during and post-pedicure. The instant invention has been shown and described in what it considers to be the most practical and preferred embodiments. It is recognized, however, that departures may be made there from within the scope of the invention and that obvious modifications will occur to a person skilled in the art.
