Cozy Comfort Toilet Seat Cover: The Fleece Seat

Abstract

Most households lower the thermostat at night to save energy. My invention The Cozy Comfort Toilet Seat Cover: The Fleece Seat is a blanket that allows the user to eliminate the shock of a cold toilet seat so they can relax and quickly get back to sleeping. Fleece eliminates the need to use electricity to warm the seat making my invention energy efficient. Simply place The Fleece Seat on top of the toilet seat. Insert the middle tab into the seat hinge, fold flaps under seat until the velcro tabs join.

BACKGROUND OF INVENTION

[0037] I started developing a fleece cover for the toilet seat about two years ago, after several conversations about cold bathrooms. I started with a design that tied onto the seat but it took too long to remove for cleaning. I developed this textile pattern after several more prototypes. The trick was to keep it securely in place yet allow for easy removal.

BRIEF SUMMARY OF INVENTION

[0038] Fleece was invented in 1979, no patent was filed. Velcro was invented in 1955 but the patent expired in 1978. The use of these two modern materials enables The Cozy Comfort Toilet Seat Cover: The Fleece Seat to fit securely and function well. Fleece can only absorb 1% of it's weight even when totally wet.

[0039] Current designs for seat covers utilize elastic to secure the seat. Elastic wears out quickly when frequently washed and dried. The Cozy Comfort Toilet Seat Cover is durable and washable retaining it's shape and function for years. My unique design allows the seat to fit securely and completely cover cold surfaces which could contact the skin. It saves money because it fits well on the seat most people already have. The Fleece Seat can even be used on a cracked vinyl and foam toilet seat to prolong it's use. Current patents are for seat which emphasize sanitary purposes: while the washability of The Cozy Comfort Toilet Seat Cover: The Fleece Seat, makes it sanitary with the added benefit of warmth, this makes my design truly unique.
