[0006] FIG. 1 is a perspective view of a heating assembly according to an embodiment of the disclosure.
[0007] FIG. 2 is a right side view of an embodiment of the disclosure.
[0008] FIG. 3 is a cross sectional view taken along line 1 of an embodiment of the disclosure.
[0009] FIG. 4 is a schematic view of an embodiment of the disclosure.
[0010] FIG. 5 is a schematic view of an embodiment of the disclosure.
DESCRIPTION OF THE PREFERRED EMBODIMENT
[0011] With reference now to the drawings, and in particular to FIGS. 1 through 5 thereof, a new heating device embodying the principles and concepts of an embodiment of the disclosure and generally designated by the reference numeral 10 will be described.
[0012] As best illustrated in FIGS. 1 through 5, the heating assembly 10 generally comprises a plenum 12 that has an intake 14 and an exhaust 16. The plenum 12 may be positioned within an area to be heated. The plenum 12 may have a parallelepiped shape. The exhaust 16 may comprise a pair of pipes 18 extending outwardly from the plenum 12.
[0013] A motor 20 is positioned within the plenum 12. The motor 20 may be an electric motor or the like. A fan 22 is coupled to the motor 20. The fan 22 urges air inwardly through the intake 14 and outwardly through the exhaust 16 when the motor 20 is actauted.
[0014] A water heater 24 is provided. The water heater 24 may be an electric water heater of any conventional design or a gas fired water of any conventional design. Additionally, the water heater 24 may be located remotely from the plenum 12.
[0015] A heat exchanger 26 is positioned within the plenum 12. The heat exchanger 26 is in thermal communication with the water heater 24. The heat exchanger 26 is positioned between the intake 14 and the exhaust 16. The heat exchanger 26 comprises a coil 28. A fluid 30 contained within the water heater 24 may be urged through the coil 28. The fluid 30 may be water. Additionally, the fluid 30 may be heated to a temperature ranging between 100.degree. Fahrenheit and 150.degree. Fahrenheit.
[0016] A supply conduit 32 is fluidly coupled between the coil 28 and an outlet 34 of the water heater 24. The coil 28 is heated by the fluid 30 contained in the water heater 24. A return conduit 34 is fluidly coupled between the coil 28 and an inlet 36 of the water heater 24. The return conduit 34 returns the fluid 30 to the water heater 24 after the coil 28 exchanges heat with the fluid 30.
[0017] A pair of vents 38 is provided. Each of the vents 38 is fluidly coupled to an associated one of the supply conduit 32 and the return conduit 34. The vents 38 selectively release the fluid 30 from the supply 32 and return 34 conduits to relieve excess pressure in the supply 32 and return 34 conduits.
[0018] A pump 40 is fluidly coupled to the supply conduit 32. The pump 40 urges the fluid 30 through the coil 28. The pump 40 may be an electrically actuated fluid pump or the like. A thermostat 42 is coupled to the plenum 12. The thermostat 42 is electrically coupled to the pump 40 and the motor 20. The thermostat 42 actuates the pump 40 and the motor 20 for a selected duration of time. The thermostat 42 de-actuates the pump 40 and the motor 20 when the area to be heated reaches a selected temperature.
[0019] A valve 44 is provided. The valve 44 is fluidly coupled to the supply conduit 32. The valve 44 is electrically coupled to the thermostat 42. The valve 44 is actuated into an open position when the thermostat 42 actuates the pump 40 and the motor 20, thereby allowing the fluid 30 to flow into the pump 40. The valve 44 is actuated into a closed position when the thermostat 42 de-actuates the pump 40 and the motor 20, thereby restricting the fluid 30 from flowing into the pump 40. The valve 44 may be an electrically actuated fluid valve of any conventional design.
[0020] A pair of shut offs 46 are provided. Each of the shut offs 46 are fluidly coupled to an associated one of the supply conduit 32 and the return conduit 34. Each of the shut offs 46 are positionable to restrict or allow the flow of the fluid 30 through the respective supply 32 and return 34 conduits. Each of the shut offs 46 may be a fluid ball valve or the like.
[0021] A filter 48 is provided. The filter 48 is removably positioned within the plenum 12. The filter 48 is positioned between the fan 22 and the intake 14. The filter 48 filters the air urged by the fan 22. The filter 48 may be a particulate filter of any conventional design.
[0022] In use, the thermostat 42 is set to a desired temperature. The pump 40, valve 44 and motor 20 are actuated when the ambient temperature drops below the thermostat 42 temperature. The pump 40, valve 44 and motor 20 remain actuated until the ambient temperature reaches the thermostat 42 temperature, at which time the pump 40, valve 44 and motor 20 are de-actuated.
[0023] With respect to the above description then, it is to be realized that the optimum dimensional relationships for the parts of an embodiment enabled by the disclosure, to include variations in size, materials, shape, form, function and manner of operation, assembly and use, are deemed readily apparent and obvious to one skilled in the art, and all equivalent relationships to those illustrated in the drawings and described in the specification are intended to be encompassed by an embodiment of the disclosure.
[0024] Therefore, the foregoing is considered as illustrative only of the principles of the disclosure. Further, since numerous modifications and changes will readily occur to those skilled in the art, it is not desired to limit the disclosure to the exact construction and operation shown and described, and accordingly, all suitable modifications and equivalents may be resorted to, falling within the scope of the disclosure. In this patent document, the word "comprising" is used in its non-limiting sense to mean that items following the word are included, but items not specifically mentioned are not excluded. A reference to an element by the indefinite article "a" does not exclude the possibility that more than one of the element is present, unless the context clearly requires that there be only one of the elements.
