Description:
BACKGROUND OF THE DISCLOSURE
Field of the Disclosure
[0001] The disclosure relates to cover devices and more particularly pertains to a new cover device to cover a variety of sizes of containers.
SUMMARY OF THE DISCLOSURE
[0002] An embodiment of the disclosure meets the needs presented above by generally comprising a panel that may be positioned on a container. The panel is comprised of a resiliently deformable and fluid impermeable material. An elastic member is coupled to the panel and the elastic member frictionally engages the container. The elastic member allows the panel to cover a variety of sizes of containers.
[0003] There has thus been outlined, rather broadly, the more important features of the disclosure in order that the detailed description thereof that follows may be better understood, and in order that the present contribution to the art may be better appreciated. There are additional features of the disclosure that will be described hereinafter and which will form the subject matter of the claims appended hereto.
[0004] The objects of the disclosure, along with the various features of novelty which characterize the disclosure, are pointed out with particularity in the claims annexed to and forming a part of this disclosure.
BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE DRAWINGS
[0005] The disclosure will be better understood and objects other than those set forth above will become apparent when consideration is given to the following detailed description thereof. Such description makes reference to the annexed drawings wherein:
[0006] FIG. 1 is a perspective view of a container cover assembly according to an embodiment of the disclosure.
[0007] FIG. 2 is a bottom view of an embodiment of the disclosure.
[0008] FIG. 3 is a top view of an embodiment of the disclosure.
[0009] FIG. 4 is a right side view of an embodiment of the disclosure.
[0010] FIG. 5 is a top perspective in-use view of an embodiment of the disclosure.
[0011] FIG. 6 is a cross sectional view of an embodiment of the disclosure.
[0012] FIG. 7 is a kit view of an embodiment of the disclosure.
DESCRIPTION OF THE PREFERRED EMBODIMENT
[0013] With reference now to the drawings, and in particular to FIGS. 1 through 7 thereof, a new cover device embodying the principles and concepts of an embodiment of the disclosure and generally designated by the reference numeral 10 will be described.
[0014] As best illustrated in FIGS. 1 through 7, the container cover assembly 10 generally comprises a panel 12 that has a top surface 14, a bottom surface 16 and a peripheral edge 18 extending therebetween. The peripheral edge 18 is be arcuate such that the peripheral edge 18 is spaced from the bottom surface 16. The panel 12 may be positionable such that the bottom surface 16 abuts a top edge 20 of a container 22 and the peripheral edge 18 abuts an outer surface 24 of the container 22. The panel 12 may preserve contents of the container 22 and the panel 12 is comprised of a resiliently deformable and fluid impermeable material. The container 22 may be a bowl, a pot, a pan or the like.
[0015] An elastic member 26 is coupled to the bottom surface 16 and the elastic member 26 is coextensive with the peripheral edge 18. The elastic member 26 urges the peripheral edge 18 inwardly toward a center of the bottom surface 16. The elastic member 26 frictionally engages the outer surface 24 when the panel 12 is positioned on the container 22. The elastic member 26 substantially seals the container 22 and the elastic member 26 allows the panel 12 to cover a variety of sizes of containers 22. The peripheral edge 18 may be coupled to the bottom surface 16 to form a channel 28. The elastic member 26 may be positioned within the channel 28.
[0016] The panel 12 is one of a high temperature panel 30, a medium temperature panel 32 and a low temperature panel 34. The high temperature panel 30 has a plurality of openings 36 extending through the top 14 and bottom 16 surfaces and the openings 36 are spaced apart from each other and distributed on the panel 12. The openings 36 may allow steam to escape the container 22. The high temperature panel 30 may be comprised of a microwave safe material capable of withstanding temperatures ranging between approximately 200.degree. Fahrenheit and 300.degree. Fahrenheit. The high temperature panel 30 may additionally have a red color to allow the high temperature panel 30 to be easily visually identified.
[0017] The medium temperature panel 32 may be comprised of a translucent material to allow the medium temperature panel 32 to be easily visually identified and the material may be capable of withstanding a temperature ranging between 40.degree. Fahrenheit and 90.degree. Fahrenheit. The low temperature panel 34 may be comprised of a material capable of withstanding temperatures ranging between approximately 0.degree. Fahrenheit and 40.degree. Fahrenheit. The low temperature panel 34 may have a blue color to allow the low temperature panel 34 to be easily visually identified.
[0018] In use, a selected one of the high temperature panel 32, the medium temperature panel 34 or the low temperature panel 36 is positioned over the container 22 so the bottom surface 16 abuts the top edge 20 of the container 22. The panel 12 is stretched over the container 22 so the peripheral edge 18 abuts the outer surface 24 of the container 22. The elastic member 26 substantially seals the container 22 to extend a shelf life of the contents of the container 22. The color of the selected panel 12 allows the temperature of the container 22 to be easily visually identified. The panel 12 may be washed and re-used or disposed of after the panel 12 is removed from the container 22.
[0019] With respect to the above description then, it is to be realized that the optimum dimensional relationships for the parts of an embodiment enabled by the disclosure, to include variations in size, materials, shape, form, function and manner of operation, assembly and use, are deemed readily apparent and obvious to one skilled in the art, and all equivalent relationships to those illustrated in the drawings and described in the specification are intended to be encompassed by an embodiment of the disclosure.
[0020] Therefore, the foregoing is considered as illustrative only of the principles of the disclosure. Further, since numerous modifications and changes will readily occur to those skilled in the art, it is not desired to limit the disclosure to the exact construction and operation shown and described, and accordingly, all suitable modifications and equivalents may be resorted to, falling within the scope of the disclosure. In this patent document, the word "comprising" is used in its non-limiting sense to mean that items following the word are included, but items not specifically mentioned are not excluded. A reference to an element by the indefinite article "a" does not exclude the possibility that more than one of the element is present, unless the context clearly requires that there be only one of the elements.
