Description:
BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
[0001] 1. Field of the Invention
[0002] The present invention relates to a toilet and, more particularly, to a combination heightened toilet seat assembly.
[0003] 2. Description of the Related Art
[0004] A conventional toilet primarily comprises a bowl, a seat connected with the bowl, a cover mounted on the seat, and a tank connected with the bowl. However, the bowl has a lower height so that when the user is seated on the seat, the user's knee has a larger bending angle, thereby causing a burden to the user's knee. Thus, the conventional toilet is not available for the old people, the pregnant women, the handicapped people, the patient and the like. A conventional heightened toilet seat assembly disclosed in U.S. Pat. No. 5,251,388 comprises a fixed base mounted on a toilet bowl and a toilet seat connected with the fixed base. The fixed base has two opposite outer sides each formed with a recess. The toilet seat is made of hard plastic material and has a substantially U-shaped profile. The toilet seat has two opposite ends each formed with a block inserted into the respective recess of the fixed base to combine the toilet seat with the fixed base. When the user wishes to detach the toilet seat from the fixed base, the two opposite ends of the toilet seat are forcibly pulled outward to detach the block of the toilet seat from the respective recess of the fixed base so as to remove the toilet seat from the fixed base. However, the toilet seat is made of hard plastic material so that the user has to apply a larger force on the toilet seat to pull the two opposite ends of the toilet seat so as to detach the block of the toilet seat from the respective recess of the fixed base, thereby causing inconvenience to the user, and wasting the user's energy.
BRIEF SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION
[0005] In accordance with the present invention, there is provided a combination heightened toilet seat assembly comprising a fixed base and a heightened seat connected with the fixed base. The fixed base is mounted on a top portion of a toilet bowl. The fixed base defines a bottom face and a top face opposite to the bottom face. The fixed base has a side provided with a mounting face which has two fitting grooves spaced from each other. Each of the fitting grooves of the mounting face of the fixed base extends from the top face to the bottom face of the fixed base. The heightened seat has a substantially U-shaped profile and defines a bottom face and a top face opposite to the bottom face. The heightened seat has two distal end faces arranged in a symmetrical manner. Each of the distal end faces of the heightened seat has a fitting protrusion. The fitting protrusion of each of the distal end faces of the heightened seat extends from the bottom face to the top face of the heightened seat. In assembly, the heightened seat is movable downward relative to the fixed base, with the fitting protrusion of each of the distal end faces of the heightened seat being slidable into each of the fitting grooves of the mounting face of the fixed base to combine the heightened seat with the fixed base. On the contrary, the heightened seat is movable upward relative to the fixed base, with the fitting protrusion of each of the distal end faces of the heightened seat being movable and detachable from each of the fitting grooves of the mounting face of the fixed base to detach the heightened seat from the fixed base.
[0006] According to the primary advantage of the present invention, the heightened seat has a predetermined height to increase the height of the toilet bowl, so that when the user is seated on the heightened seat, the bending angle of the user's knee is decreased so as to reduce the burden of the user's knee.
[0007] According to another advantage of the present invention, the fitting protrusion of each of the distal end faces of the heightened seat can slide into each of the fitting grooves of the mounting face of the fixed base to combine the heightened seat and the fixed base, and can be removed from each of the fitting grooves of the mounting face of the fixed base to detach the heightened seat from the fixed base, so that the heightened seat is combined with and detached from the fixed base easily and quickly, thereby saving the user's energy and time.
[0008] Further benefits and advantages of the present invention will become apparent after a careful reading of the detailed description with appropriate reference to the accompanying drawings.

[0010] FIG. 2 is a perspective assembly view of the combination heightened toilet seat assembly as shown in FIG. 1.
[0011] FIG. 3 is a perspective operational view of the combination heightened toilet seat assembly as shown in FIG. 2.
DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION
[0012] Referring to the drawings and initially to FIGS. 1 and 2, a combination heightened toilet seat assembly 100 in accordance with the preferred embodiment of the present invention comprises a fixed base 10 and a heightened seat 20 connected with the fixed base 10.
[0013] The fixed base 10 is mounted on a top portion 911 of a toilet bowl 91 and is located adjacent to a toilet tank 92 which is mounted on the rear end of the toilet bowl 91. The fixed base 10 has a lump shape and defines a bottom face 11 and a top face 12 opposite to the bottom face 11. The bottom face 11 of the fixed base 10 abuts and is fixed on the top portion 911 of the toilet bowl 91. The fixed base 10 has a side provided with a mounting face 13 which is directed toward a hollow 912 of the toilet bowl 91 and has two fitting grooves 131 spaced from each other. Each of the fitting grooves 131 of the mounting face 13 of the fixed base 10 extends from the.top face 12 to the bottom face 11 of the fixed base 10. In the preferred embodiment of the present invention, each of the fitting grooves 131 of the mounting face 13 of the fixed base 10 has an arcuate cross-sectional profile.
[0014] The heightened seat 20 has a substantially U-shaped profile with a predetermined height and defines a bottom face 21 and a top face 22 opposite to the bottom face 21. The heightened seat 20 has two distal end faces 23 arranged in a symmetrical manner. Each of the distal end faces 23 of the heightened seat 20 has a fitting protrusion 231. The fitting protrusion 231 of each of the distal end faces 23 of the heightened seat 20 extends from the bottom face 21 to the top face 22 of the heightened seat 20. In the preferred embodiment of the present invention, the fitting protrusion 231 of each of the distal end faces 23 of the heightened seat 20 has an arcuate cross-sectional profile.
[0015] In assembly, referring to FIG. 3 with reference to FIGS. 1 and 2, when the user wishes to combine the heightened seat 20 and the fixed base 10, the bottom of the fitting protrusion 231 of each of the distal end faces 23 of the heightened seat 20 is aligned with the top of each of the fitting grooves 131 of the mounting face 13 of the fixed base 10 as shown in FIG. 3. Then, the heightened seat 20 is moved downward relative to the fixed base 10, with the fitting protrusion 231 of each of the distal end faces 23 of the heightened seat 20 sliding downward into each of the fitting grooves 131 of the mounting face 13 of the fixed base 10, until the bottom face 21 of the heightened seat 20 abuts the top portion 911 of the toilet bowl 91 as shown in FIG. 2, so that the heightened seat 20 is combined with the fixed base 10. On the contrary, when the user wishes to detach the heightened seat 20 from the fixed base 10 for cleaning, the heightened seat 20 is moved upward relative to the fixed base 10, with the fitting protrusion 231 of each of the distal end faces 23 of the heightened seat 20 being moved upward and detached from each of the fitting grooves 131 of the mounting face 13 of the fixed base 10 as shown in FIG. 3, so that the heightened seat 20 is detached from the fixed base 10.
[0016] Accordingly, the heightened seat 20 has a predetermined height to increase the height of the toilet bowl 91, so that when the user is seated on the heightened seat 20, the bending angle of the user's knee is decreased so as to reduce the burden of the user's knee.
[0017] In addition, the fitting protrusion 231 of each of the distal end faces 23 of the heightened seat 20 can slide into each of the fitting grooves 131 of the mounting face 13 of the fixed base 10 to combine the heightened seat 20 and the fixed base 10, and can be removed from each of the fitting grooves 131 of the mounting face 13 of the fixed base 10 to detach the heightened seat 20 from the fixed base 10, so that the heightened seat 20 is combined with and detached from the fixed base 10 easily and quickly, thereby saving the user's energy and time.
[0018] In the preferred embodiment of the present invention, the heightened seat 20 has an outer side provided with at least one holding recess 24 to facilitate the user gripping and holding the heightened seat 20.
[0019] In the preferred embodiment of the present invention, the combination heightened toilet seat assembly 100 further comprises a cover 30 pivotally connected with the fixed base 10 to cover the heightened seat 20. The cover 30 has one end provided with two pivot pieces 31 mounted on the top face 12 of the fixed base 10. The cover 30 is driven by an external force and is movable reciprocally between an opened position and a closed position.
[0020] In the preferred embodiment of the present invention, the toilet bowl 91 has two locking holes 913, the fixed base 10 has two through holes 14 each extended from the bottom face 11 to the top face 12 of the fixed base 10, and the combination heightened toilet seat assembly 100 further comprises two locking members 40 each extended through each of the locking holes 913 of the toilet bowl 91 and each of the through holes 14 of the fixed base 10 to lock the fixed base 10 onto the toilet bowl 91 solidly and stably.
[0021] In the preferred embodiment of the present invention, each of the fitting grooves 131 of the mounting face 13 of the fixed base 10 extends along the mounting face 13 from the top face 12 to the bottom face 11 of the fixed base 10 in an inclined manner with a predetermined oblique angle, and the fitting protrusion 231 of each of the distal end faces 23 of the heightened seat 20 extends along each of the distal end faces 23 from the bottom face 21 to the top face 22 of the heightened seat 20 in an inclined manner with a predetermined oblique angle, so that the heightened seat.20 is combined with and detached from the fixed base 10 easily by each of the oblique fitting grooves 131 of the mounting face 13 of the fixed base 10 and the oblique fitting protrusion 231 of each of the distal end faces 23 of the heightened seat 20.
[0022] In the preferred embodiment of the present invention, each of the fitting grooves 131 of the mounting face 13 of the fixed base 10 has an arcuate cross-sectional profile, and the fitting protrusion 231 of each of the distal end faces 23 of the heightened seat 20 has an arcuate cross-sectional profile. Alternatively, each of the fitting grooves 131 of the mounting face 13 of the fixed base 10 has a dovetailed cross-sectional profile, and the fitting protrusion 231 of each of the distal end faces 23 of the heightened seat 20 has a dovetailed cross-sectional profile.
[0023] Although the invention has been explained in relation to its preferred embodiment(s) as mentioned above, it is to be understood that many other possible modifications and variations can be made without departing from the scope of the present invention. It is, therefore, contemplated that the appended claim or claims will cover such modifications and variations that fall within the true scope of the invention.
