Description:
BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
[0001] The present invention relates to personal care and, more particularly, to a system for managing personal care essentials.
[0002] Bar soap is a popular personal care item that presents some well-documented problems. A bar of soap is slippery and comes in many different shapes and sizes frustrating one-size-fits-all retainers. Slippery soap can result in the soap dropping and breaking during use or dropping into bath water, making finding the bar of soap difficult, particularly for users with physical disabilities. This broken or lost soap may be discarded and wasted. Another problem is soap that sits in a soap dish can get soft and mushy resulting in waste and a messy soap dish that is time consuming to clean. Frequently small soap pieces are discarded resulting in waste.
[0003] Using soap leads to the need for another popular personal care item, a towel. Many times, towels are not handy or otherwise in reach even if the soap readily presented itself when starting to shower, bath or wash up. Searching for the drying towel, when soaking wet, is an annoyance.
[0004] As can be seen, there is a need for managing personal care essentials.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION
[0012] The following detailed description is of the best currently contemplated modes of carrying out exemplary embodiments of the invention. The description is not to be taken in a limiting sense, but is made merely for the purpose of illustrating the general principles of the invention, since the scope of the invention is best defined by the appended claims.
[0013] Broadly, an embodiment of the present invention provides a personal care system including a soap bag, an inner pouch and an outer pouch for managing personal care essentials. A plurality of bars of soap can be removably retained within the soap bag. The soap bag is nestable within the inner pouch, and the inner pouch is nestable within the outer pouch. Each pouch may provide a cape cover for facilitating cleaning and/or nesting of the pouches.
[0014] Referring to FIGS. 1 through 3, the present invention may include a personal care system 10. The personal care system 10 may include a soap bag 20, an outer pouch 12 and an inner pouch 16.
[0015] The soap bag 20 may be manufactured from a mesh or netted material, like a flexible synthetic or organic, that is permeable to, yet not disintegratable in water. The soap bag 20 may be comprised of at least one panel sewn or heat sealed together so as to form a pouch adapted to retain a plurality of bars of soap 22 therein. The soap bag 20 may provide a closable bag opening 28 for receiving the plurality of bars of soap 22, wherein the bag opening may be closed to facilitate the retaining of the a plurality of bars of soap 22 therein. The closable bag opening 28 may provide a cinching band to facilitate the closing thereof.
[0016] The inner pouch 16 may be manufactured from a cloth material that absorbs moisture. The inner pouch 16 may be comprised of at least one panel sewn or heat sealed together so as to form a pouch adapted to receive and retain at least the soap bag 20. The inner pouch 16 defines an open end to receive the at least the soap bag 20.
[0017] The inner pouch 16 may provide a closing device attached to the open end comprised of a drawstring 18 and cord stop 19 as seen in FIGS. 1 through 3. In another embodiment, a closing device is comprised of a drawstring 18 and a slipknot. In still another embodiment, a closing device may be any fastener known in the art for fastening or removably securing one object to another including, for example, standard push-button snaps, Velcro-type fasteners, adhesive substances, combinations thereof, and the like.
[0018] A perimeter of the open end of the inner pouch 16 may include a channel as shown in FIGS. 1 and 2. The drawstring 18 may be threaded through the channel and the adjustable cord stop 19 may be secured to the drawstring 18. The drawstring 18 may be manufactured from nylon string, a synthetic or organic string or cord of various diameters.
[0019] The cord stop 19 may be manufactured from plastic containing a metal or plastic biasing spring (not shown) and a plunger. The cord stop may also be manufactured from a material that floats in water.
[0020] The inner pouch 16 may provide a half cape cover 26 disposed along a portion of the open end, wherein the half cape cover 26 may be made of absorbent material and adapted for cleaning, washing and drying purposes.
[0021] The outer pouch 12 may be manufactured from a cloth material that absorbs moisture. The outer pouch 12 may be comprised of at least one panel sewn or heat sealed together so as to form a pouch adapted to receive and retain at least the soap bag 20 and the inner pouch 16. The pouch defines an open end to receive the at least the soap bag 20 and the inner pouch 16.
[0022] The outer pouch 12 may provide a closing device attached to the open end comprised of a drawstring 14 and cord stop 15 as seen in FIGS. 1 through 3. In another embodiment, a closing device is comprised of a drawstring 14 and a slipknot. In still another embodiment, a closing device may be any fastener known in the art for fastening or removably securing one object to another including, for example, standard push-button snaps, Velcro-type fasteners, adhesive substances, combinations thereof, and the like.
[0023] A perimeter of the open end of the outer pouch 12 may include a channel as shown in FIGS. 1 and 2. The drawstring 14 may be threaded through the channel and the adjustable cord stop 15 may be secured to the drawstring 14. The drawstring 14 may be manufactured from nylon string, a synthetic or organic string or cord of various diameters.
[0024] The cord stop 15 may be manufactured from plastic containing a metal or plastic biasing spring (not shown) and a plunger. The cord stop may also be manufactured from a material that floats in water.
[0025] The outer pouch 12 may provide a full cape cover 24 disposed along a portion of the open end, wherein the full cape cover may be made of absorbent material and adapted for cleaning, washing and drying purposes.
[0026] A method of using the present invention may include the following. The personal care system 10 disclosed above may be provided. For storing popular personal care items, a user may nest the plurality of bars of soap 22 in the soap bag 20. Then the user may nest the soap bag 20 within the pouch of the inner pouch 16. Then the user may nest the inner pouch 16 within the outer pouch 12. The user may use either one or both of the cape covers 24, 26 to facilitate the secure nesting of the soap bag 20 and the pouches 16, 12 by, for example, wrapping one and/or both of the cape covers 24, 26 about their respective open ends.
[0027] The user may use the soap bag 20 containing the plurality of bars of soap 22 to exfoliate and scrub themselves. Thereafter, the user may use either one of the cape covers 24, 26 for cleaning purposes.
[0028] It should be understood, of course, that the foregoing relates to exemplary embodiments of the invention and that modifications may be made without departing from the spirit and scope of the invention as set forth in the following claims.
