Description:
BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
[0001] 1. Field of Invention
[0002] The present invention relates to a shirt that includes a slot, sleeveless side, inside privacy liner, and breast pocket, designed for use by consumers with post-surgical or injured shoulders and/or arms.
[0003] 2. Description of Related Art
[0004] Individuals who have had surgery or who have injured their arm or shoulder may require some type of sling or support for the arm or shoulder during the healing process. Drawbacks of a sling or support include difficulty in dressing, driving, tying shoes and other issues involving daily care. In addition, the use of the sling may be visually distracting for others, resulting in emotional distress for the recovering party.
[0005] Therefore, it would be advantageous to have a shirt especially designed for every day wear for use during the healing process that works in conjunction with the sling.
SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION
[0006] The present invention relates to a shirt for both adults and children, comprised of a right or left-handed slot on a front panel; sleeveless construction on one side; traditional long or short sleeve on the opposing side; an inside privacy liner; and a breast pocket with a logo. The front panel may include a V-neck or polo shirt design in an alternative embodiment of the present invention.
BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF DRAWINGS
[0007] FIG. 1 depicts a slotted shirt in accordance with the present invention.
DETAILED DESCRIPTION
[0008] The present invention relates to a slotted shirt for daily use that includes a slot on the front panel that is used in conjunction with an arm sling. The present invention is a pullover shirt with one normal sleeve and an opposing side of the shirt remains sleeveless. A slot is provided on the front panel of the shirt to enable the hand to be used during daily activities.
[0009] In reference to FIG. 1, a slotted shirt 100 is depicted. The shirt 100 includes a sleeve 30 on one side of a front panel 32 of the shirt 100. An opposing side 34 is a sleeveless side where the sleeve is removed and any exposure is stitched closed so that the user's arm or shoulder remains inside of the shirt 100. A slot 36 is provided on the front panel 32 that allows the user to insert the user's hand through the slot 36 during use of the shirt 100. The shirt 100 is generally a pullover shirt and may have a V-neck as depicted in FIG. 1. Further, the shirt may be a polo shirt design with a collar and buttons also shown in FIG. 1. The shirt 100 may further include a logo 40 inserted on a breast pocket 38 on the front panel 32 near the chest area of the shirt 100. The shirt according to the present invention allows the user to more easily place the shirt on and provides the slot so that the arm or shoulder remains in the interior of the shirt. An inside privacy panel 20, located beneath the front panel 32 and beneath the slot 36, eliminates skin exposure to the elements. The invention has been shown and described in what is considered to be the most practical and preferred embodiments. It is recognized, however, that departures may be made therefrom within the scope of the invention and that obvious modifications will occur to a person skilled in the art.
