CROSS REFERENCE TO RELATED APPLICATIONS
[0001] This application claims the benefit of and incorporates by reference co-pending U.S. provisional patent application Ser. No. 62/039,877 filed Aug. 20, 2014.
BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
[0002] 1. Field of the Invention
[0003] This invention relates generally to drinking receptacles and, more particularly, to a bottle having four discrete chambers, each having its own outlet.
[0004] 2. Description of the Prior Art
[0005] The consumption of bottled soft drinks and other beverages is well known. A problem which still exists, however, is that when individuals desire to consume or avail to others multiple beverages, it is typically required to acquire and/or stock several different bottles, each containing a single beverage. Thus, there remains a need for a multi-chambered drinking bottle having four discrete sections, each of which can hold and dispense a distinct beverage. It would be helpful if such a multi-chambered drinking bottle included a removable cap member having four drinking straws. It would be additionally desirable for the cap of such a multi-chambered drinking bottle to include spring loaded spouts which enabled the straws to each be selectively opened and closed separately.
[0006] The Applicant's invention described herein provides for a wheeled multi-chambered drinking bottle adapted to allow a user store and dispense several different beverages from a single container. The primary components in Applicant's multi-chambered drinking bottle are a base container having discrete sections and a removable cap. When in operation, the multi-chambered drinking bottle enables a plurality of beverages to be availed from a single container. As a result, many of the limitations imposed by prior art structures are removed.
SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION
[0007] A multi-chambered drinking bottle for holding and independently dispensing a plurality of distinct liquids. The multi-chambered drinking bottle comprises a base container defined by a receptacle having four discrete compartments, and a removable cap defined by a base cap having four pipes extending downward therefrom and four straw members extending from its top surface. Each of the pipes is integral with a single straw member, together forming a continuous channel through which liquid can be directed through. When the multi-chambered drinking bottle is assembled, each pipe is inserted into a single compartment. The straw members include a spring loaded output spout that enables it to be placed in a dispensing position and a closed position to control the flow of liquid through it.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION
[0016] Referring now to the drawings and in particular FIGS. 1, 2A and 2B, a multi-chambered drinking bottle 100 is shown having a base container 110, and a removable cap 120. The base container 110 is defined by a receptacle having four discrete compartments 111 comprising its interior and a grasping device, defined as a textured surface 112 in one embodiment, disposed on its outer surface. In an alternate embodiment, the grasping device is defined as a handle 112'.
[0017] Each discrete compartment 111 is an identical compartment having an elongated body 113 and a top area 114. The base container 110 additionally includes a rubber bottom 115 and a rubber rim 116. In the preferred embodiment, the base container 110 holds three liters in total.
[0018] The removable cap 120 is defined by a base cap 121 having four pipes 122 extending downward therefrom and four straw members 123 extending from its top surface. Each of the pipes 122 is connected to a straw member 123, together forming a continuous channel through which liquid can be directed through. The straw members 123 include a docking member 124 and an output spout 125 which extends therefrom. The output spout 125 is slidably disposed in the docking member 124, enabling it to be placed in a dispensing position, as shown in FIG. 1, and a closed position, as shown in FIG. 2B. In the dispensing position, the fluid is allowed to pass through from the pipe 122 to and out of the output spout 125. In the closed position, fluid is blocked from passing through the docking member 124, enabling a user to selectively pour fluid in from a selected compartment 111 by closing the straw member 123 associated with the other compartments 111.
[0019] Each output spout 125 is spring loaded in the docking member 124 and includes a latch fastener, enabling it to remain in the dispensing position until manual force moves it into the closed position, where the latch fastener holds it in place. The latch fastener can be released, causing to the output spout 125 to return to the open position, through the application of manual pressure to push the output spout 125 further into the docking member 124.
[0020] Referring now to FIG. 3, in an alternate embodiment, the multi-chambered drinking bottle 200 is defined by four stack compartments 210 disposed in a single housing. In this alternate embodiment, each compartment 210 includes a straw spout 211 having a removable cap 212 and an input spout 213 for adding or replenishing a beverage in the compartment 210. Separating each compartment 210 is a divider 220. Each divider 220 includes a track for the straw spout 211 to be laid in when not in use.
[0021] The instant invention has been shown and described herein in what is considered to be the most practical and preferred embodiment.
