Description:

BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION

[0001] The present invention relates to exercise devices and, more particularly, to a runner link harness.

[0002] Individuals find it hard to motivate themselves to exercise, and so often times, they do not exercise. Current devices that link a runner are attached to inanimate objects. Human interaction and teamwork are lacking when using these devices.

[0003] As can be seen, there is a need for a runner link harness that allows people to be linked up with other people while walking, jogging, running or other exercises.

SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION

[0004] In one aspect of the present invention, a runner link harness comprises: two shoulder straps, each having a front section and a rear section, where the front section comprises at least one first connection mechanism and a shoulder strap adjustment mechanism, wherein the rear section comprises at least one second connection mechanism; and at least one waist strap comprising a waist strap adjustment mechanism, wherein the at least one waist strap attaches to the two shoulder straps.

[0005] In another aspect of the present invention, a method for harnessing multiple people for the purpose of exercising, comprises the steps of: attaching a runner link harness to a first operator, wherein the runner link harness comprises two shoulder straps, each having a front section and a rear section, where the front section comprises at least one first connection mechanism and a shoulder strap adjustment mechanism, wherein the rear section comprises at least one second connection mechanism; and at least one waist strap comprising a waist strap adjustment mechanism, wherein the at least one waist strap attaches to the two shoulder straps; attaching an additional runner link harness to at least one more operator; removably attaching the at least one first connection mechanism of one operator to the at least one second mechanism of the next operator; and performing an exercise with at least two operators joined together by multiple runner link harnesses.

[0006] These and other features, aspects and advantages of the present invention will become better understood with reference to the following drawings, description and claims.

BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE DRAWINGS

[0007] FIG. 1 is a perspective view of an exemplary embodiment of the present invention, shown in use;

[0008] FIG. 2 is a front perspective view of an exemplary embodiment of the present invention;

[0009] FIG. 3 is a rear perspective view of an exemplary embodiment of the present invention;

[0010] FIG. 4 is a side view of an exemplary embodiment of the present invention;

[0011] FIG. 5 is a detail perspective view of an exemplary embodiment of the present invention; and

[0012] FIG. 6 is a detail perspective view of an exemplary embodiment of the present invention.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION

[0013] The following detailed description is of the best currently contemplated modes of carrying out exemplary embodiments of the invention. The description is not to be taken in a limiting sense, but is made merely for the purpose of illustrating the general principles of the invention, since the scope of the invention is best defined by the appended claims.

[0014] Broadly, an embodiment of the present invention provides a runner link harness that may include two shoulder straps, each having a front section and a rear section. The front section may include at least one first connection mechanism and a shoulder strap adjustment mechanism. The rear section may include at least one second connection mechanism. At least one waist strap may include a waist strap adjustment mechanism that may be attached to the two shoulder straps. The runner link harness may be placed on an operator, and at least one more operators may place on at least one more runner link harness. The at least one first connection mechanism of each runner link harness may removably attach to at least one second connection mechanism of another runner link harness. The at least one first connection mechanism may include a retractable line that adjusts the length between operators.

[0015] As is illustrated in FIGS. 1 through 6, a runner link harness 10 may include two shoulder straps 28 and at least one waist strap 20. The shoulder straps 28 have a front section and a rear section. The front section of each shoulder strap 28 may include at least one first connection mechanism. The front section of each shoulder strap 28 may also include a shoulder strap adjustment mechanism, such as a shoulder strap adjustment buckle 12. In certain embodiments, the first connection mechanism may include a housing and ring assembly 14. The rear section of each shoulder strap 28 may include at least one second connection mechanism. In certain embodiments, the rear section of each shoulder strap 28 may include a rear buckle and ring assembly 34. The rear buckle and ring assembly 34 may include a rear buckle 30 attached to a rear buckle ring 32. The rear buckle 30 may be adjustable. The at least one waist strap 20 may include a waist strap adjustment mechanism such as a waist strap adjustment buckle 22. The two shoulder straps 28 attach to the at least one waist strap 20. The at least one first connection mechanism and the at least one second connection mechanism may move up and down along the shoulder strap 28.

[0016] In certain embodiments, the housing and ring assembly 14 may include a housing 16 having an interior housing. A retractable line 24 may be housed within the interior housing of the housing 16. The retractable line 24 may be a strap or the like. An end of the retractable line 24 may attach to a ring 18 such as a D-ring or the like. The retractable line 24 may extend out from the housing 16 creating additional distance between one runner link harness 10 and another runner link harness 10. In certain embodiments, the retractable line 24 may be a length of approximately six feet. The retractable line 24 may be self-retracting so that there is no lag in the line retractable 24 between an operator 26 and another operator 26.

[0017] A method of using the runner link harness 10 may include the following. The harness 10 may be placed on the operator 26 with the at least one waist strap 20 fitting under the chest in the front of the operator 26 and fitting under the shoulder blades in the back of the operator 26. Adjustment may be allowed for an individual fit. The shoulder strap adjustment mechanism may be adjusted for tightness and a secure fit on the operator 26. At least one more operator 26 may put an additional runner link harness 10 on and secure it in place. The at least one first connection mechanism of a first harness 10 may be removably attached to the at least one second connection mechanism of another operator's harness 10. In certain embodiments, the ring 18 of the at least one first connection mechanism may attach to the ring of the at least one second connection mechanism. This attachment may occur through a carabineer or the like. The at least one first connection mechanism and the at least one second connection mechanism may be moved along the shoulder strap 28 for a more comfortable fit for each operator 26. At least two operators 26 may be connected through multiple runner link harnesses 10. The harnesses 10 may be used for walking as a group, jogging, running or some other exercise. The retractable line 24 may be used to adjust pace and allow for movement within the line of operators 26.

[0018] It should be understood, of course, that the foregoing relates to exemplary embodiments of the invention and that modifications may be made without departing from the spirit and scope of the invention as set forth in the following claims.
