Abstract:
A foldable fitted sheet is provided. The fitted sheet may be a
substantially rectangular woven fabric with four corner portions. The
corner portions may each include cut out portions forming a pair of inner
edges and a pair of outer edges. The inner edges may be releasably
attachable to one another. Therefore, the sheet may be placed on top of
mattress and the inner edges may be connected to secure to the mattress.
When the inner edges are detached, the sheet may lay flat and may be
easily folded.Claims:
1. A fitted sheet comprising: a substantially rectangular woven fabric
comprising four corner portions, wherein each corner portion comprises a
cut out portion forming a pair of inner edges and a pair of outer edges,
wherein the inner edges are releasably attachable to one another.
2. The fitted sheet of claim 1, wherein the fitted sheet comprises a detached form when the inner edges are detached and an attached form when the inner edges are attached.
3. The fitted sheet of claim 2, wherein the detached form further comprises the pair of outer edges separate, and wherein the attached form further comprises the outer edges joined.
4. The fitted sheet of claim 1, wherein the outer edges at least partially comprise a stretchable elastic material.
5. The fitted sheet of claim 1, wherein the inner edges are releasably attachable by a zipper.
6. The fitted sheet of claim 1, wherein the inner edges of each pair are substantially perpendicular relative to one another, and the outer edges of each pair are substantially perpendicular relative to another.
Description:
CROSS-REFERENCE TO RELATED APPLICATION
[0001] This application claims the benefit of priority of U.S. provisional application No. 61/858,675, filed Jul. 26, 2013, the contents of which are herein incorporated by reference.
BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
[0002] The present invention relates to bed sheets and, more particularly, to an easily foldable fitted bed sheet.
[0003] Bed sheets come in two main varieties: flat or fitted. A flat sheet is simply a rectangular sheet of cloth, while a fitted sheet has its four corners, and sometimes two or four sides, fitted with elastic, to be used only as a bottom sheet.
[0004] The purpose of a fitted bottom sheet is to keep it from slipping off the mattress while the bed is in use. However, due to the elastic, fitted bottom sheets are difficult to fold.
[0005] As can be seen, there is a need for an easily foldable fitted bed sheet.
SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION
[0006] In one aspect of the present invention, a fitted sheet comprises: a substantially rectangular woven fabric comprising four corner portions, wherein each corner portion comprises a cut out portion forming a pair of inner edges and a pair of outer edges, wherein the inner edges are releasably attachable to one another.
[0007] These and other features, aspects and advantages of the present invention will become better understood with reference to the following drawings, description and claims.

[0015] and
[0016] FIG. 8 is a top view of the present invention illustrating the zipper opened.
DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION
[0017] The following detailed description is of the best currently contemplated modes of carrying out exemplary embodiments of the invention. The description is not to be taken in a limiting sense, but is made merely for the purpose of illustrating the general principles of the invention, since the scope of the invention is best defined by the appended claims.
[0018] The present invention includes a flat fold fitted sheet. The sheet may lay flat and fold neatly. The present invention may include zippers in each corner seam of a fitted sheet. Therefore, the sheet may lay flat when the zippers are unzipped. The present invention may include sheet material, elastic, and four zippers. The four zippers are sewn to the sheet material at the seams of the fitted sheet. When the four zippers are closed, the sheet acts as a fitted sheet. When the four zippers are opened, the fitted sheet is flat, similar to a top sheet.
[0019] Referring to FIGS. 1 through 8, the present invention includes a fitted sheet 12. The fitted sheet 12 may be a substantially rectangular woven fabric with four corner portions. The corner portions may each include cut out portions each forming a pair of inner edges 10 and a pair of outer edges 14. The inner edges 10 may be releasably attachable to one another. Therefore, the sheet 12 may be placed on top of mattress 16 and the inner edges 10 may be connected to secure to the mattress 16. The mattress 16 may rest on a box spring 18 which may rest on a bed frame 20.
[0020] Since the inner edges 10 of the present invention may be releasably attachable to one another, the present invention may include a detached form and an attached form. The detached form includes the inner edges 10 being detached and the outer edges 14 being separate. The attached form includes the inner edges 10 being attached and the outer edges 14 being joined.
[0021] In certain embodiments, the inner edges 10 may be releasably attached to one another by any suitable connector. For example, the connector may include, but is not limited to, a zipper, buttons, hook and loop fasteners, clips and the like. As illustrated in the Figures, the connector may be a zipper to quickly zip the inner edges 10 together.
[0022] In certain embodiments, the outer edges may at least partially include a stretchable elastic material, such as rubber sewn into the outer edges. Therefore, the user may lay the sheet 12 on the mattress 14 and zip the corners together. The elastic material may then retain the sheet on the mattress 14. When the user needs the fold the sheet 12, the corners may be unzipped and the sheet 12 may lay flat for an easy fold.
[0023] The cutout portions may include any suitable shape. For example, the inner edges 10 of each pair may be substantially perpendicular relative to one another, and the outer edges 14 of each pair may be substantially perpendicular relative to another. However, the present invention is not limited to this, and the edges may be rounded or oriented in different angles relative to one another.
[0024] It should be understood, of course, that the foregoing relates to exemplary embodiments of the invention and that modifications may be made without departing from the spirit and scope of the invention as set forth in the following claims.
