Abstract:

The present invention is a multiple chair canopy that includes a top canopy that protects a user against the sun, a plurality of horizontal straight pipes that support the top canopy in an upright horizontal position, a plurality of hook and loop fasteners that removably secure the top canopy to the horizontal straight pipes, a plurality of t-shaped connections that are fittingly attached to the horizontal straight pipes and a plurality of vertical straight pipes. The multiple chair canopy also includes a plurality of end couplings that stabilize the multiple chair canopy, one or more seating chairs positioned underneath the top canopy of the multiple chair canopy, a plurality of elbow connections that connect the vertical straight pipes and the horizontal straight pipes and a transport bag.

Claims:

1. A multiple chair canopy, comprising: a top canopy that is a sheet of fabric, wherein the top canopy adapted to protect a user against the sun while utilizing the multiple chair canopy; a plurality of horizontal straight pipes that include a first end and a second end, wherein the top canopy is disposed between the horizontal straight pipes and the horizontal straight pipes support the top canopy in an upright horizontal position; a plurality of hook and loop fasteners disposed on the horizontal straight pipes adapted to removably secure the top canopy to the horizontal straight pipes; a plurality of t-shaped connections that are fittingly attached to the first ends and the second ends of the horizontal straight pipes; a two pairs of vertical straight pipes that each include a first end, wherein each of the pair of the vertical straight pipes are attached together by one of said t-shaped connections; a plurality of end couplings disposed opposite the first end of the vertical straight pipes, wherein the end couplings are oriented on the portion vertical straight pipes intended to contact the ground surface on which the multiple chair canopy rests, stabilizing stabilize the multiple chair canopy; and a plurality of elbow connections that connect the vertical straight pipes and the horizontal straight pipes, wherein said elbow connections are integrated with said t-shaped connections.

2. The multiple chair canopy according to claim 1, wherein the top canopy is made of canvas.

The multiple chair canopy according to claim 1, additionally comprising a transport bag sized to contain the top canopy, the horizontal straight pipes, the hook and loop fasteners, the t-shaped connections, the vertical straight pipes, the end couplings, the sitting chair and the elbow connections.

22. The multiple chair canopy according to claim 1, wherein the top canopy is covered by a transparent vinyl material.

Description:

TECHNICAL FIELD & BACKGROUND

[0001] Currently there are limited alternatives of chairs which can provide a shade over a person's head while being in the sun. Typically, chairs lack this type of specific shelter, which often causes considerable discomfort to individuals under constant exposure to the sun while sitting on the chair.

[0002] The present invention generally relates to a canopy. More specifically, the invention is a multiple chair canopy.

[0003] It is an object of the invention to provide a multiple chair canopy that provides consumers with material capable of blocking a substantial amount of sunlight.

[0004] It is an object of the invention to provide a multiple chair canopy that can accommodate one or two seated persons from sunlight.

[0005] It is an object of the invention to provide a multiple chair canopy that is relatively lightweight and easy to assemble.

[0006] What is really needed is a multiple chair canopy that provides consumers with material capable of blocking a substantial amount of sunlight that can accommodate one or two seated persons from sunlight that is relatively lightweight and easy to assemble.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF ILLUSTRATIVE EMBODIMENTS

[0010] Various aspects of the illustrative embodiments will be described using terms commonly employed by those skilled in the art to convey the substance of their work to others skilled in the art. However, it will be apparent to those skilled in the art that the present invention may be practiced with only some of the described aspects. For purposes of explanation, specific numbers, materials and configurations are set forth in order to provide a thorough understanding of the illustrative embodiments. However, it will be apparent to one skilled in the art that the present invention may be practiced without the specific details. In other instances, well-known features are omitted or simplified in order not to obscure the illustrative embodiments.

[0013] FIG. 1A illustrates a side view of a multiple chair canopy 100, according to an embodiment of the present invention.

[0014] The multiple chair canopy 100 includes a top canopy 110, a plurality of horizontal straight pipes 120, a plurality of hook and loop fasteners 130, a plurality of t-shaped connections 140, a plurality of vertical straight pipes 150, a plurality of end couplings 160 and a seating chair 170. The top canopy 110 is a sheet of fabric 112 that protects a user against sun while utilizing the multiple chair canopy 100. The top canopy 110 can be made of canvas or other suitable material. The top canopy 110 can also be optionally protected by a transparent vinyl rain covering 114 that is placed over the top canopy 110. The horizontal straight pipes 120 include a first end 122 and a second end 124 to support the top canopy 110 in an upright horizontal position. The horizontal straight pipes 120 are made of approximately 3/4th of an inch polyvinyl chloride or PVC but can be made of any other suitable material such as metal or aluminum. The hook and loop fasteners 130 are disposed on the horizontal straight pipes 120 to removably secure the top canopy 110 to the horizontal straight pipes 120.

[0015] The t-shaped connections 140 are fittingly attached to the first ends 122 and the second ends 124 of the horizontal straight pipes 120. The t-shaped connections 140 are made of approximately 3/4th of an inch polyvinyl chloride or PVC but can be made of any other suitable material such as metal or aluminum. The t-shaped connections 140 are approximately 263/4 inches in length but can be any suitable length. The vertical straight pipes 150 include a first end 152 and two pairs of parallel vertical straight pipes 150 where each pair of the vertical straight pipes 150 are attached by a t-shaped connection 140. The vertical straight pipes 150 are made of approximately 3/4th of an inch polyvinyl chloride or PVC but can be made of any other suitable material such as metal or aluminum. Additional information regarding the vertical straight pipes 150 is illustrated and described in FIG. 1B and its description. The end couplings 160 are disposed on the first end 152 of the vertical straight pipes 150 and stabilize the multiple chair canopy 100. The end couplings 160 are made of approximately 3/4th of an inch polyvinyl chloride or PVC but can be made of any other suitable material such as metal or aluminum. The seating chair 170 is positioned underneath the top canopy 110 of the multiple chair canopy 100 to protect a user sitting in the seating chair 170 from sunlight, rain and other suitable environmental elements.

[0016] FIG. 1B illustrates a front view of a multiple chair canopy 100, according to an embodiment of the present invention. The multiple chair canopy 100 illustrated in FIG. 1B includes a multiple chair canopy 100, a plurality of horizontal straight pipes 120, a plurality of hook and loop fasteners 130, a plurality of t-shaped connections 140, a plurality of vertical straight pipes 150, a plurality of end couplings 160 and a pair of sitting chairs 170 that is similar to the multiple chair canopy 100, the horizontal straight pipes 120, the hook and loop fasteners 130, the t-shaped connections 140, the vertical straight pipes 150, the end couplings 160 and the sitting chair 170 illustrated and described in FIG. 1A and its description.

[0017] Additionally, FIG. 1B includes a plurality of elbow connections 180 and a transport bag 190. The elbow connections 180 connect the vertical straight pipes 150 and the horizontal straight pipes 120. The elbow connections 180 are made of approximately 3/4 th of an inch polyvinyl chloride or PVC but can be made of any other suitable material such as metal or aluminum. The transport bag 190 can contain all of the previously mentioned components of the multiple chair canopy 100 that include the top canopy 110, the horizontal straight pipes 120, the hook and loop fasteners 130, the t-shaped connections 140, the vertical straight pipes 150, the end couplings 160 and the sitting chair 170 and the elbow connections 180. The transport bag 190 can be made of durable vinyl, canvas or other suitable material and can be any size to accommodate all of the components of the multiple chair canopy 100. The horizontal straight pipes 120 are approximately 59 inches in length but can be any suitable length. The hook and loop fasteners 130 are disposed along the horizontal straight pipes 120 and to removably secure the top canopy 110 to the horizontal straight pipes 120 as previously described in FIG. 1A and its description. The vertical straight pipes 150 are approximately 471/8 inches in height but can be any suitable length. FIG. 1B illustrates a pair of sitting chairs 170 in contrast to a sitting chair 170 illustrated and described in FIG. 1A.

[0018] The multiple chair canopy is made of an approximate 3/4 inch PVC pipe attachment capable of supporting a canopy which can offer shade throughout a sunny day. The multiple chair canopy is relatively durable and easy to use and affords comfort and shade to a user at a plurality of alternative locations such as a park, a beach and other recreational venues. The multiple chair canopy may be fastened with a hook and loop fastener directly to any suitable desired fabric, which can block the sun from a plurality of angles. The multiple chair canopy is available at renowned household retailers. The multiple chair canopy includes an optional transparent vinyl covering in order to apply protection when it rains. The multiple chair canopy is designed to be readily available with two chairs and also provides a bag for easy storage and transport.

[0019] While the present invention has been related in terms of the foregoing embodiments, those skilled in the art will recognize that the invention is not limited to the embodiments described. The present invention can be practiced with modification and alteration within the spirit and scope of the appended claims. Thus, the description is to be regarded as illustrative instead of restrictive on the present invention.
