Abstract:
An elongated rod having a means of signal attached to one end thereof.
The opposite end is circular shaped to create a tension spring with its
end tip hooked to rest against the bottom of mailbox door, that being the
mailbox has a vertically swinging hinged door. The elongated rod is
equipped with an attachment housing centered to pivot and swing as it is
affixed to the side bottom of the mailbox by one screw only, to work as a
cam. The hook is set or placed to the outside bottom of the door so it
will disengage when the door is opened allowing the spring end to drop
vertically to bring the signal end to an upstanding second position.
After the door is re-closed the rod is manually re-engaged to first
position by placing hook end against the mailbox door.Claims:
1) A single rod with containment of a flag portion, a set hook portion, a
weight portion and a pivot portion, a mounting portion combined.
2) A means of signal on one end of said rod.
3) What is claimed is a means for weight on opposite end of said rod.
4) What is claimed is said rod is attached to pendulum drilled for attachment.
5) What is claimed is said rod end is inward turned to create a hook catch.
Description:
FIELD OF INVENTION
[0001] Relates to the arrival of postal mail and more specifically the Mails Here indicator.
[0002] Relates to mailboxes and more specifically the arrival of mail.
BACKGROUND OF INVENTION
[0003] The present invention relates to the field of mailboxes.
[0004] Rural mailboxes are lacking a way of letting a person know that their mail has arrived.
[0005] The mailbox is equipped with a red flag for signalling the mail person that there is outgoing mail to be picked up.
[0006] There is no way to know that mail was delivered unless the lay in wait method is applied or a person is apt to make more than one trip to the mailbox to see if mail has arrived.
[0007] In a lot of cases a person has a good distance to walk to check and see if mail has arrived.
[0008] Attempts have been made to provide a means of signalling the mail has arrived but are not simple to install.
[0009] Mails here invention is simple and easy to install and simple to use.
SUMMARY OF INVENTION
[0010] The present invention relates to means for the knowledge of mail arrival as the present invention eliminates guess work such as has the mail been delivered. A further object of the present invention is that it saves extra unneeded trips to the mailbox. A further object of the present invention is to provide a simple device for signalling that mail has arrived. A further object of the present invention is that it is easy to install. A further object of the present invention is that it does not require putting possibly leaky holes in the mailbox for attachment. A further object of the present invention is that it is easy to reset. A further object of the present invention is that it could be inexpensive to purchase. A further object of the present invention is that the indicator can be seen at a 360 degree radius.
BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF DRAWINGS
[0011] FIG. 1 sheet 1 depicts Mails Here signalling device in its entirety.
[0012] FIG. 2 sheet 1 depicts Mails Here signalling device from side view.
[0013] FIG. 3 and FIG. 4 on sheet 2 illustrates operation of Mails Here invention.
DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF DRAWINGS
[0014] The present invention Mails Here will be more clearly understood when considered in conjunction with accompanying drawings. 2 sheets 4 drawings FIG. 1 and FIG. 2.
[0015] FIG. 1, number 2 depicts a rod. Rod figure includes a signal end number 5 but it is understood that signal may be in a number of shapes. Number 3 depicts opposite rod end number 2 as being curled creating a tension like spring. Number 4 depicts number 3 tension like spring as being hook shaped on the end. Number 6 depicts position to pivot. Number 7 depicts mounting hole. Number 8 depicts a means of mounting. Number 9 depicts rod with curvature.
[0016] Sheet 2 drawing number 3 illustrates operation of the said invention Mails Here. Number 2 as the mailbox door is opened. Sheet 2 drawing number 4 depicts said invention Mails Here number 2 resting in cocked position with hook tip number 4 pressing against the bottom of mailbox door.
EXPLANATION AND BENEFITS
[0017] We have observed the number of times people would walk across the road to check their mailbox to see if their mail has arrived when in fact it has not arrived.
[0018] We solved the problem.
[0019] We invented a simple device that is self working when the mailbox door is opened giving knowledge that mail has arrived.
[0020] The device works extremely well. The device never fails.
[0021] The invention saves walking to and from the mailbox and eliminates the guesswork of mail arrival.
