DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE PREFERRED EMBODIMENTS

[0024] A description will be given to preferred embodiments of the present invention, reference being had to the attached drawings.

[0025] The present invention provides a liquid crystal glass packaging device, which is used to receive and contain liquid crystal glass of various sizes and comprises a box 1 and a cover 2 corresponding to and positionable on and closing the box 1. The box 1 comprises: an outer case 11 and an inner case 12 arranged inside the outer case 11. The inner case 12 forms multiple accommodation chambers to receive liquid crystal glass of various sizes. The multiple accommodation chambers include at least a first accommodation chamber 13 and a second accommodation chamber 14.

[0026] The first accommodation chamber 13 is delimited and surrounded by a plurality of first inner case walls 121 of the inner case 12. The second accommodation chamber 14 is delimited and surrounded by a plurality of second inner case walls 122 of the inner case 12.

[0027] The first accommodation chamber 13 and the second accommodation chamber 14 are arranged to alternate in the vertical direction.

[0028] As shown in FIG. 1, the liquid crystal glass packaging device according to the present invention uses an inner case 12 that forms therein at least two accommodation chambers so that accommodation of liquid crystal glass of various sizes, especially a small-sized liquid crystal glass, can be effected without adding insert blocks and it is unneeded to individually make a specific mold for small-sized liquid crystal glass packaging device, whereby he manufacture cost can be lowered down.

[0029] The structure and assembling operation of the liquid crystal glass packaging device according to the present invention will be described by taking accommodation of liquid crystal glass of two sizes, including 48-inch and 46-inch, as an example.

[0030] Referring to FIG. 6, the box 1 and the cover 2 positioned thereon for closure collectively serve as an outer container for containing liquid crystal glass. The outer container is made of high-density foaming materials to provide a function of protection of liquid crystal glass and easy transportation. In the instant embodiment, the inner case 12 of the box 1 has a top surface that is higher than a top surface of the outer case, with which the cover 2 that adopts a corresponding outside-low-inside-high structure mates so that the cover 2 may close the box 1.

[0031] The top surface of the inner case 12 is higher than the outer case 11 so that the inner case 12 has a larger amount of space to form the accommodation chambers with increased volume of accommodation.

[0032] The inner case walls of the inner case 12 are arranged to substantially show a rectangular shape. Since the inner case 12 has a predetermined wall thickness, cutoffs can be formed in multiple sites of the rectangular inner case walls, such as accommodation slots, in order to form a structure of multiple accommodation chambers.

[0033] For specifics of a preferred embodiment according to the present invention, reference is also had to FIGS. 2 and 3. The inner case 12 comprises inner case walls that define four sides showing a rectangular configuration and extending in the same directions of an outer contour of the inner case to serve as the first inner case walls 121. The four first inner case walls 121 along the four sides are set along a circumference of a bottom board of the box 1 to form a first accommodation chamber 13 (indicated by dashed line in FIG. 3) for accommodating the 48-inch liquid crystal glass. Also, the plurality of inner case walls 121 shown in the drawings has middle portions in which accommodation slots of the same number are formed. When a predetermined number of pieces of liquid crystal glass are received in the first accommodation chamber 13, those accommodation slots surround the circumference of the liquid crystal glass received in the first accommodation chamber 13 to define a second accommodation chamber 14 (indicated by solid line in FIG. 3). The second accommodation chamber 14 has a size corresponding to that of a piece of 46-inch liquid crystal glass. The accommodation slots function to engage and retain corners on the circumference of a piece of liquid crystal glass.

[0034] The second accommodation chamber 14 is also delimited and surrounded by four second inner case walls 122. Between every two accommodation slots, a wall located on the same plane is a section of the second inner case walls 122.

[0035] The vertically alternating arrangement of the first accommodation chamber 13 and the second accommodation chamber 14 is that the two sizes of the liquid crystal glass are packaged in a stacked manner, wherein when a piece of liquid crystal glass of one size is set on a corresponding position inside the inner case 12, the corners of the circumference of the piece of liquid crystal glass are retained by the first accommodation chamber 13, while a piece of liquid crystal glass of another size is rotated by a corresponding angle to be received in the inner case 12 so that the second accommodation chamber 14 engages and retains the corners of the circumference of the liquid crystal glass. When the accommodation operation is completed, the pieces of liquid crystal glass of the two sides are stacked on each other with an angular shift therebetween. The angle corresponds to the inclination angle 6 between the first accommodation chamber 13 and the second accommodation chamber 14.

[0036] In the above described preferred embodiment that forms two accommodation chambers, the first inner case walls 121 and the second inner case walls 122 are of the same height and the first accommodation chamber 13 and the second accommodation chamber 14 that are surrounded and delimited thereby are both rectangular in shape.

[0037] The purpose of making the inner case walls identical in height is that there is no need to distinguish the sequence of positioning the pieces of liquid crystal glass. For example, a panel of a large size is first positioned and a panel of a small size is positioned. Or, the sequence can be reversed. Both do not affect the way of practicing. This improves the flexibility of assembling to some extents, as shown in FIG. 4.

[0038] For specifics of the process of depositing into the container, the operation of disposing liquid crystal glass carried out in a product line is exactly identical to the known process and it only needs to rotate the packaging device by a predetermined angle to correspond to a disposing location of the liquid crystal glass in the process of disposing liquid crystal glass of the second size. Alternately, the liquid crystal glass can be rotated by a predetermined angle to correspond to and positioned with respect to the inner case.

[0039] It is appreciated that the liquid crystal glass packaging device of the present invention is applicable to accommodation of three different sizes of liquid crystal glass, provided that the wall thickness of the inner case 12 allows formation of a sufficient number of accommodation slots therein and the accommodation slots correspond to the sizes of the panels to be deposited therein so as to engage and retain the four corners of the panels.

[0040] Also, by varying the inclination angle β of the second accommodation chamber 14 relative to the first accommodation chamber 13, as shown in FIG. 5, the size of the liquid crystal glass to be received in the second accommodation chamber can be changed. For example, when the inclination angle β is enlarged, the size of the liquid crystal glass that can be accommodated in the second accommodation chamber 14 is reduced. Similarly, when the inclination angle β is kept small, the size of the liquid crystal glass accommodated in the second accommodation chamber 14 is close to the size of the liquid crystal glass accommodated in the first accommodation chamber 13.

[0041] The liquid crystal glass packaging device that embodies the present invention comprises an inner case that forms multiple accommodation chambers for receiving liquid crystal glass of multiple sizes. The multiple accommodation chambers include at least a first accommodation chamber and a second accommodation chamber that are arranged to alternate in the vertical direction, so that the requirement of accommodating various sizes of liquid crystal glass can be satisfied without adding insert blocks. The structure is of a delicate and elegant arrangement and helps reducing the number of molds made for packaging devices thereby lowering down the manufacture cost.

[0042] Preferred embodiments of the present invention have been described and they are not intended to limit the scope of protection offered by the appended claims. Thus, equivalent modifications and variations are considered within the scope of the present invention.
