Patent application title: Pure and Humid Clean Air Attachment for Hot Air Heating Systems and Air conditioning Vents

Inventors:  Regan Ute Lally (Oyster Bay, NY, US)
IPC8 Class: AF24F1302FI
USPC Class: 261127
Class name: Gas and liquid contact apparatus with external supply or removal of heat
Publication date: 2013-07-25
Patent application number: 20130187299

Abstract:

A device that; hangs below (FIG. #1), sits against (FIG. #2), or sits above (FIG. #3) the hot air or air conditioning vents of a heating or cooling system which catches and directs the forced air towards the contained liquid in the designed device to humidify and remove dust/dirt particles in the internal heating or cooling system. The design of the device then directs the cleaner more humid air out of the designed openings of the invention into the room.

Claims:

1. A lightweight device used for application on Hot Air and Air Conditioned residential and commercial heating and cooling systems, which attaches to, sits next to, and above the buildings air vents. The device's design catches the air emitted from the heating/cooling system and directs it towards the device's contained liquid which; 1. humidifies the air and 2. catches and removes dirt and dust from the internal system in the building, releasing the cleaner and more humid air into the room through the device's designed vented openings after it makes contact with the liquid.

Description:

[0001] 1. The lightweight container made of a decorative metal or plastic material attaches to -the heating or cooling system air vents, directs the air into the liquid, and the designed openings forces the release of the cleaner more humid air after making contact with the liquid. These containers can be of various shapes--circular, star, square, rectangle, etc. as long as the following design principles remain intact.

[0002] FIG. #1--Ceiling Attachment--attaches by hook and/or straps under the air vent, catches the air forced downward from the vent, which contacts the liquid underneath and escapes through the side openings into the room. The attachment's design forces the air out the side openings after the air hits the liquid.

[0003] A--Open Top which attaches under the vent, which is larger than the air vent.

[0004] B--Solid side corner which supports the base.

[0005] C--Open Vent where clean and moist air escapes after making contact with the liquid

[0006] D--Lower solid sidewall which supports the liquid

[0007] E--Solid Base which supports the liquid

[0008] FIG. #2--Wall Attachment--sits up against the wall surrounding the vent with a solid piece which can be curved or multiple sided, which directs the air from the vent downward to the liquid and then out the designed opening into the room. The upper solid catch piece which directs the airflow downward can adjust upward from the floor to accommodate vents of varying heights from the floor.

[0009] A--Solid angled enclosure with opening for oncoming air from air vent.

[0010] B--Lower opening from (A) enclosure for air to reach liquid.

[0011] C--Solid Container for liquid which air is directed into, which can be connected to A and/or have a sliding adjustable, supporting, removable strap.

[0012] FIG. #3--Floor Attachment--Solid piece above the air vent prevents the air from rising and forces it downward to the containers of liquid surrounding the vents, which after with the liquid contact the air escapes outward into the room. The Floor Attachment stands over the air vent (like a spider) directing the air downward to the liquid which is surrounds the vent (like a moot) and then the air flows outward. The solid attachment piece (Part A in figure) which stands over the vent is larger than the vent.

[0013] A--Solid Top piece that is larger than the air vent and prevents the forced air from rising.

[0014] B--Solid sides that angles downward, directing the air downward and outside the vent.

[0015] C--Solid Legs that support the Top (A & B) and allow a gap/vent for air to escape after contacting the liquid.

[0016] D--Containers for liquid that surround the floor vent on the floor, under the A, B, & C parts.
