Description:

TECHNICAL FIELD & BACKGROUND

[0001] Currently there are limited options for portable lounge chairs and other compact seating devices. Camping and hunting enthusiasts often have to haul weighty folding chairs during their exploration, significantly decreasing their ability to transport other supplies.

[0002] The present invention generally relates to a seating device. More specifically, the invention is a compact seating device.

[0003] It is an object of the invention to provide a combination backpack and compact seating device.

[0004] It is an object of the invention to provide a combination backpack and compact seating device with an easily foldable compact seating portion.

[0005] What's really needed is a combination backpack and compact seating device with an easily foldable compact seating portion.

BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE DRAWINGS

[0006] The present invention will be described by way of exemplary embodiments but not limitations, illustrated in the accompanying drawings in which like references denote similar elements, and in which:

[0007] FIG. 1A illustrates a side perspective view of a compact seating device in a perpendicular position, according to the present invention.

[0008] FIG. 1B illustrates a side perspective view of a compact seating device in an extended position, according to the present invention.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF ILLUSTRATIVE EMBODIMENTS

[0009] Various aspects of the illustrative embodiments will be described using terms commonly employed by those skilled in the art to convey the substance of their work to others skilled in the art. However, it will be apparent to those skilled in the art that the present invention may be practiced with only some of the described aspects. For purposes of explanation, specific numbers, materials and configurations are set forth in order to provide a thorough understanding of the illustrative embodiments. However, it will be apparent to one skilled in the art that the present invention may be practiced without the specific details. In other instances, well-known features are omitted or simplified in order not to obscure the illustrative embodiments.

[0010] Various operations will be described as multiple discrete operations, in turn, in a manner that is most helpful in understanding the present invention. However, the order of description should not be construed as to imply that these operations are necessarily order dependent. In particular, these operations need not be performed in the order of presentation.

[0011] The phrase "in one embodiment" is utilized repeatedly. The phrase generally does not refer to the same embodiment, however, it may. The terms "comprising", "having" and "including" are synonymous, unless the context dictates otherwise.

[0012] FIG. 1A illustrates a side perspective view of a compact seating device 100 in a perpendicular position, according to the present invention. The compact seating device 100 includes a backpack portion 110, a bottom portion 120, a pair of telescoping rods 130, a plurality of waterproof fabric sheets 140 and an overall cross-leg design 150. The compact seating device 100 in a perpendicular position is typically a seating position for a user (not shown) to sit on the compact seating device 100.

[0013] The backpack portion 110 is trapezoid-shaped 112 and includes a slit 114 on each side 116 of the backpack portion 110 to accommodate a user to place his arms through the slits 114 to secure the back pack portion 110 to the back of a user. The bottom portion 120 is hingedly attached to the backpack portion 110 and serves as a base for the compact seating device 100 and is cube-shaped 122. The telescoping rods 130 are attached to the bottom portion 120 and extend to the backpack portion 110 enabling the backpack portion 110 to pivot backwards and forwards in relation to the bottom portion 120. The telescoping rods 130 are telescoping and are made of aluminum such as recycled aluminum. The waterproof fabric sheets 140 are disposed across the top surface 124 of the bottom portion 120 that serve as a sitting support and can be made of any suitable waterproof sheet material. The overall cross-leg design 150 includes a plurality of crossing u-shaped braces 152 that form an x-shaped support 154 to the bottom portion 120. The crossing u-shaped braces 152 that form an x-shaped support 154 are made of aluminum such as recycled aluminum.

[0014] FIG. 1B illustrates a side perspective view of a compact seating device 100 in an extended position, according to the present invention. The compact seating device 100 illustrated in FIG. 1A and described in the FIG. 1A description includes the same components as the compact seating device 100 illustrated and described in FIG. 1B and its description. In contrast to the compact seating device 100 illustrated and described in FIG. 1A, the compact seating device 100 illustrated and described in FIG. 1B is pivotally extended backwards as opposed to being in a perpendicular position. The backpack portion 110, the bottom portion 120, the pair of telescoping rods 130, the plurality of waterproof fabric sheets 140 and the overall cross-leg design 150 in FIG. 1A is identical to the backpack portion 110, the bottom portion 120, the pair of telescoping rods 130, the plurality of waterproof fabric sheets 140 and the overall cross-leg design 150 in FIG. 1B.

[0015] The compact seating device is a combination foldable chair and backpack that serves as an innovative method for transporting relatively sturdy seating. Made of aluminum and waterproof materials, the compact seating device includes a triangular knapsack with attached recycled tubing serving as a plurality of structural cross-sectional legs while the fabric materials serve as a sitting support. Without additional accessories, the chair can be constructed by use of exterior telescoping rods that manipulate the internal tubing, utilizing the bottom section of the backpack for seating and the top for recline positioning. The compact seating device can be marketed in various colors and patterns to appeal to diverse consumers. The compact seating device simplifies the transportation of outdoor seating. The feature of a multi-purpose collapsible chair that is environmentally friendly and quick to assemble, affords users with a fundamental sporting accessory.

[0016] While the present invention has been related in terms of the foregoing embodiments, those skilled in the art will recognize that the invention is not limited to the embodiments described. The present invention can be practiced with modification and alteration within the spirit and scope of the appended claims. Thus, the description is to be regarded as illustrative instead of restrictive on the present invention.
