Abstract:
Lining arrangement (8, 11) covering an external motion joint (2) between
concrete elements (3, 4) and (3', 4') in a building in which there is a
tile lining (10) at the outer surface of the concrete elements. The
lining arrangement comprises tile rows in a vertical direction in
relation to the motion joint (2) in which case there is at least one tile
(8) or a part of a tile in rows at the both sides of the motion joint (2)
and horizontal bars (12) attached to the adjacent concrete elements (4)
are installed over the joint (2) crosswise for the attachment of the
mentioned tiles (8) in which case the tiles (8) can be attached with the
help of their back plate (11).Claims:
1. Lining arrangement (8, 11) covering an external motion joint (2)
between concrete elements (3, 4) and (3', 4') in a building in which
there is a tile lining (10) at the outer surface of the concrete
elements, characterized in that the lining arrangement comprises tile
rows in a vertical direction in relation to the motion joint (2) in which
case there is at least one tile (8) or a part of a tile in rows at the
both sides of the motion joint (2) and horizontal bars (12) attached to
the adjacent concrete elements (4) are installed over the joint (2)
crosswise for the attachment of the mentioned tiles (8) in which case the
tiles (8) can be attached with the help of their back plate (11).
2. Lining arrangement (8, 11) according to the claim 1, characterized in that horizontal bars (12) are attached to concrete elements (4) at their ends in such a way that the attachment includes a play required by the movement, such as for example through an elongated hole.
3. Lining arrangement (8, 11) according to the claim 1, characterized in that the tiles (8) of the lining arrangement are the same as the tiles (10) attached to the concrete elements (4).
4. Lining arrangement (8, 11) according to the claim 1, characterized in that there are flexible motion joints (6) between the tiles (8) of the lining arrangement and other tiles (10).
Description:
[0001] The invention relates to a lining arrangement covering an external
motion joint between concrete elements in a building in which there is a
tile lining on the outer surface of the concrete elements.
[0002] Previously leaving the motion joint between the concrete elements exposed is known in which case an elastic joint mass functions as the outermost layer of the joint which joint mass keeps the joint closed when the elements move a little bit in relation to each other.
[0003] In the buildings the wall elements of which have a concrete surface or have a homogeneous grain coating, special motion joints do not stand out from the conventional, immovable vertical or horizontal joints between the concrete elements. In these cases one wants to leave the joints between the concrete elements exposed.
[0004] When the concrete elements of a concrete element building have brick tile linings outside, the purpose is often to fade out the joints between the concrete elements behind a homogeneous brick tile lining because the joints are often immovable. In that case the tile lining only crosses the joint points.
[0005] In these cases the motion joint points are however left exposed because the lining elements are stiff and in those possible joint movements can be seen as cracks, as loose tiles or as distorted joint lines of the brick tiles.
[0006] In order to remove these disadvantages a new lining arrangement covering motion joint has been developed with which lining arrangement the crossing of the motion joint points can be performed reliably although a brick tile lining that crosses the joint point is used.
[0007] With the lining arrangement covering the motion joint according to the invention an unexpected improvement can be reached in relation to the existing prior art and it is characteristic of the invention that the lining arrangement comprises tile rows in vertical direction in relation to the motion joint in which case there is at least one tile or a part of a tile in the rows at the both sides of the motion joint and in order to attach the mentioned tiles, horizontal bars attached to the adjacent concrete elements are installed over the joint crosswise to which horizontal bars the tiles can be attached with the help of their back plate.

[0011] In the FIG. 1 a motion joint 1, 2 between the concrete elements 3, 4 and 3', 4' is shown as a horizontal section view. There is a brick tile lining 10 at the outer surface of the elements 3, 4 from which brick tile lining the stocks 10 are missing at the both sides of the motion joint 2. A horizontal bar 12 is attached to the element 4 with the help of anchor bolts 7, 14 to a vertical sector from which the stocks 10 are missing. The bar 12 is attached with these only at its ends. The horizontal bars 12 are located in a vertical direction at a distance from each other with the same spacing than the lining element attached to be supported by the mentioned bar has counter attachment parts. The vertical lining element covering the motion joint point is attached as an element to the vertical sector that has no stocks which lining element in this case comprises two parallel lining brick tiles 8 and which are located in a vertical direction being also several defining the height of the element. Two flexible motion joints 6 are formed sideways for the lining element covering the motion joint 2 in relation to the brick tiles 10 located in the elements 4. With the lining element according to the invention the motion joint 2 between the elements 4 can thus be covered although the elements 2 would move in horizontal direction with each other +-10 mm and in vertical direction +-15 mm. The joint 9 between the tiles 8 can also be created to be flexible but it is not necessary. It is advantageous that the brick tiles 8 and 10 are together similar kinds of tiles. There is necessary no need for a whole tile 8 being separately at the both sides of the motion joint 2 but even with a part of a tile the present invention can be implemented.
[0012] In the FIG. 2 the attachment of the horizontal bar 12 to the element 2 is shown with the help of an anchor bolt 14, a spring washer 15 and a nut 7. The attachment of the horizontal bar 12 must allow the reciprocal movement of the elements 2 so that the attachment holes in the horizontal bar 12 are elongated and when a spring washer 15 is used in the attachment, the nut 7 is not turned very tight. Due to this the horizontal bar 12 can slide the distance allowed by the hole in relation to the fastening bolt 14.
[0013] The horizontal bar 12 is a profile that comprises a part directed diagonally downwards and after that a vertical part 16 directed upwards from it. The vertical part 16 has gaps at a distance from each other. The lining element according to the invention comprises a back plate 11 to which the brick tiles 8 are attached. There is a fold at the lower edge of the back plate 11 in such a way that the vertical part 16 of the horizontal bar 12 moves during the installation to a slot space formed by the tile 8 and the mentioned fold. The fold of the back plate 11 has angle forms 13 minted to the fold at the distance from each other which angle forms become strained to the gaps located at the part 16 during the installation which gaps also have a corresponding distance with each other. The lining element 8, 11 according to the invention is easy to install to its place to be supported by the horizontal bars 12 and after that perform the jointing work to the motion joints 6 formed with the brick tiles 10. These motion joints 6 are filled by locating first a joint strip to the joint, after that elastic mass and finally for example crushed-run rock.
[0014] The installation of the lining element covering the motion joint according to the invention is very easy if the whole wall is lined afterwards with the brick tile elements. Then all the lining elements will be attached to the same level at the surface of the external wall and the motion joint line will be covered only with the element according to the invention which element is a vertical sector.
