Abstract:
An exercising bike includes a main frame and a rear frame adjustably
connected with the main frame. The main frame includes a support pipe
having a slideway, a first linkage pivotally mounted on the support pipe,
a seat mounted on the first linkage, a second linkage pivotally mounted
on the support pipe, a handlebar mounted on the second linkage, and a
third linkage pivotally connected with the first linkage and the second
linkage. The rear frame includes an adjusting bar retractably mounted on
the support pipe, a connecting lever pivotally connected with the
adjusting bar and the first linkage, and at least one roller rotatably
mounted on the adjusting bar and slidably mounted in the slideway. Thus,
the position of the seat can be adjusted so that a user can operate the
exercising bike in a sitting or lying posture.Claims:
1. An exercising bike, comprising: a main frame; and a rear frame
adjustably connected with the main frame; wherein the main frame
includes: a support pipe having an inner portion provided with a
slideway; a first linkage pivotally mounted on the support pipe; a seat
mounted on the first linkage to move in concert with the first linkage; a
second linkage pivotally mounted on the support pipe; a handlebar mounted
on the second linkage to move in concert with the second linkage; a third
linkage pivotally connected with the first linkage and the second
linkage; the rear frame includes: an elongate adjusting bar retractably
mounted in the slideway of the support pipe of the main frame; a
connecting lever having a lower end pivotally connected with the
adjusting bar and an upper end pivotally connected with the first linkage
of the main frame; and at least one roller rotatably mounted on the
adjusting bar and slidably mounted in the slideway of the support pipe of
the main frame.
2. The exercising bike of claim 1, wherein the exercising bike further comprises an adjusting mechanism mounted on the support pipe of the main frame and connected with the adjusting bar of the rear frame to move the adjusting bar of the rear frame relative to the support pipe of the main frame.

The exercising bike of claim 2, wherein the adjusting bar of the rear frame has an inner portion provided with a screw bore; the adjusting mechanism includes: a threaded rod rotatably mounted in the slideway of the support pipe of the main frame and screwed into the screw bore of the adjusting bar of the rear frame; an actuator mounted on the support pipe of the main frame and connected with the threaded rod to rotate the threaded rod relative to the adjusting bar of the rear frame.

The exercising bike of claim 3, wherein the screw bore of the adjusting bar of the rear frame is movable on the threaded rod of the adjusting mechanism by rotation of the threaded rod; the adjusting bar of the rear frame is movable relative to the support pipe of the main frame by rotation of the threaded rod.
5. The exercising bike of claim 3, wherein the actuator of the adjusting mechanism consists of a motor and a speed reducer.
6. The exercising bike of claim 1, wherein the exercising bike further comprises a driving mechanism pivotally connected between the support pipe and the first linkage of the main frame.
7. The exercising bike of claim 6, wherein the driving mechanism has a lower portion pivotally connected with the support pipe of the main frame and an upper portion pivotally connected with the first linkage of the main frame.
8. The exercising bike of claim 6, wherein the driving mechanism includes a motor for driving a threaded rod, a hydraulic cylinder or a pneumatic cylinder.
9. The exercising bike of claim 1, wherein the main frame further includes: a damping wheel unit mounted on the support pipe; a front stand mounted on the support pipe; a mounting bracket mounted on the support pipe to support the first linkage, the second linkage and the damping wheel unit.

The exercising bike of claim 9, wherein the support pipe of the main frame is arranged in a transverse manner; the front stand of the main frame is mounted on an end portion of the support pipe and is arranged in a transverse manner; the damping wheel unit of the main frame is provided with two cranks and two pedals.
11. The exercising bike of claim 9, wherein the first linkage of the main frame has a lower end pivotally connected with the mounting bracket and an upper end pivotally connected with the seat.
12. The exercising bike of claim 9, wherein the second linkage of the main frame has a lower end pivotally connected with the mounting bracket and an upper end pivotally connected with the handlebar.
13. The exercising bike of claim 1, wherein the seat of the main frame is provided with an armrest.
14. The exercising bike of claim 1, wherein the rear frame further includes a rear stand mounted on the adjusting bar; the rear stand of the rear frame is mounted on the second end of the adjusting bar and is arranged in a transverse manner.

The exercising bike of claim 1, wherein the adjusting bar of the rear frame has a first end movably mounted in the slideway of the support pipe of the main frame and a second end protruding outward from the slideway of the support pipe of the main frame; the connecting lever of the rear frame is pivotally connected with the second end of the adjusting bar.
16. The exercising bike of claim 1, wherein the connecting lever of the rear frame has an arc-shaped profile.
17. The exercising bike of claim 3, wherein the slideway of the support pipe of the main frame has a rectangular cross-sectional profile; the adjusting bar of the rear frame has a rectangular cross-sectional profile.

BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION

[0002] The present invention relates to an exercising equipment and, more particularly, to an exercising bike.
[0003] 2. Description of the Related Art
[0004] A conventional exercising bike comprises a support frame, a damping wheel unit mounted on the support frame, a seat mounted on the support frame, and a handlebar mounted on the support frame. The damping wheel unit includes a rotation wheel, a damper, a crank shaft, two cranks and two pedals. Thus, when a user moves the pedals to rotate the rotation wheel, the damper provides a damping force to the rotation wheel, so that the user has to apply a larger force to overcome the damping force so as to achieve an exercising effect. However, the seat has a fixed position so that the user can only sit on the seat to operate the exercising bike and cannot lie on the seat to operate the exercising bike, thereby limiting the exercising effect of the exercising bike.
BRIEF SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION
[0005] In accordance with the present invention, there is provided a exercising bike, comprising a main frame and a rear frame adjustably connected with the main frame. The main frame includes a support pipe having an inner portion provided with a slideway, a first linkage pivotally mounted on the support pipe, a seat mounted on the first linkage to move in concert with the first linkage, a second linkage pivotally mounted on the support pipe, a handlebar mounted on the second linkage to move in concert with the second linkage, and a third linkage pivotally connected with the first linkage and the second linkage. The rear frame includes an elongate adjusting bar retractably mounted in the slideway of the support pipe of the main frame, a connecting lever having a lower end pivotally connected with the adjusting bar and an upper end pivotally connected with the first linkage of the main frame, and at least one roller rotatably mounted on the adjusting bar and slidably mounted in the slideway of the support pipe of the main frame.
[0006] The primary objective of the present invention is to provide a dual-use exercising bike on which a user can sit and lie.
[0007] According to the primary advantage of the present invention, the position of the seat of the main frame can be adjusted so that a user can operate the exercising bike in a sitting or lying posture, thereby enhancing the exercising effect.
[0008] According to another advantage of the present invention, the roller of the rear frame is moved in the support pipe of the main frame so that the adjusting bar of the rear frame is moved in the support pipe of the main frame smoothly by guidance of the roller and will not produce noise during movement.
[0009] According to a further advantage of the present invention, the driving mechanism and the adjusting mechanism are selected individually to decrease the cost of fabrication.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION
[0018] Referring to the drawings and initially to FIGS. 1-3, an exercising bike in accordance with the preferred embodiment of the present invention comprises a main frame 10 and a rear frame 20 adjustably connected with the main frame 10.
[0019] The main frame 10 includes a support pipe 12 having an inner portion provided with a slideway 121, a first linkage 15 pivotally mounted on the support pipe 12, a seat 16 mounted on the first linkage 15 to move in concert with the first linkage 15, a second linkage 17 pivotally mounted on the support pipe 12, a handlebar 171 mounted on the second linkage 17 to move in concert with the second linkage 17, a third linkage 18 pivotally connected with the first linkage 15 and the second linkage 17, a damping wheel unit 13 mounted on the support pipe 12, a front stand 11 mounted on the support pipe 12, and a mounting bracket 14 mounted on the support pipe 12 to support the first linkage 15, the second linkage 17 and the damping wheel unit 13.
[0020] The support pipe 12 of the main frame 10 is arranged in a transverse manner. The slideway 121 of the support pipe 12 of the main frame 10 has a non-circular cross-sectional profile and preferably has a rectangular cross-sectional profile. The front stand 11 of the main frame 10 is mounted on an end portion of the support pipe 12 and is arranged in a transverse manner. The damping wheel unit 13 of the main frame 10 is provided with two cranks 131 and two pedals 132. The first linkage 15 of the main frame 10 has a lower end pivotally connected with the mounting bracket 14 and an upper end pivotally connected with the seat 16. The second linkage 17 of the main frame 10 has a lower end pivotally connected with the mounting bracket 14 and an upper end pivotally connected with the handlebar 171. The seat 16 of the main frame 10 is provided with an armrest 161.
[0021] The rear frame 20 includes an elongate adjusting bar 22 retractably mounted in the slideway 121 of the support pipe 12 of the main frame 10, a connecting lever 25 having a lower end pivotally connected with the adjusting bar 22 and an upper end pivotally connected with the first linkage 15 of the main frame 10, at least one roller 24 rotatably mounted on the adjusting bar 22 and slidably mounted in the slideway 121 of the support pipe 12 of the main frame 10, and a rear stand 21 mounted on the adjusting bar 22.
[0022] The adjusting bar 22 of the rear frame 20 has a non-circular cross-sectional profile and preferably has a rectangular cross-sectional profile. The adjusting bar 22 of the rear frame 20 has an inner portion provided with a screw bore 23. The adjusting bar 22 of the rear frame 20 has a first end movably mounted in the slideway 121 of the support pipe 12 of the main frame 10 and a second end protruding outward from the slideway 121 of the support pipe 12 of the main frame 10. The rear stand 21 of the rear frame 20 is mounted on the second end of the adjusting bar 22 and is arranged in a transverse manner. The connecting lever 25 of the rear frame 20 is pivotally connected with the second end of the adjusting bar 22. The connecting lever 25 of the rear frame 20 has an arc-shaped profile.
[0023] The exercising bike further comprises an adjusting mechanism 40 mounted on the support pipe 12 of the main frame 10 and connected with the adjusting bar 22 of the rear frame 20 to move the adjusting bar 22 of the rear frame 20 relative to the support pipe 12 of the main frame 10. The adjusting mechanism 40 includes a threaded rod 42 rotatably mounted in the slideway 121 of the support pipe 12 of the main frame 10 and screwed into the screw bore 23 of the adjusting bar 22 of the rear frame 20, and an actuator 41 mounted on the support pipe 12 of the main frame 10 and connected with the threaded rod 42 to rotate the threaded rod 42 relative to the adjusting bar 22 of the rear frame 20 so that the screw bore 23 of the adjusting bar 22 of the rear frame 20 is movable on the threaded rod 42 of the adjusting mechanism 40 by rotation of the threaded rod 42, and the adjusting bar 22 of the rear frame 20 is movable relative to the support pipe 12 of the main frame 10. The actuator 41 of the adjusting mechanism 40 consists of a motor and a speed reducer.
[0024] The exercising bike further comprises a driving mechanism 30 pivotally connected between the support pipe 12 and the first linkage 15 of the main frame 10. The driving mechanism 30 has a lower portion pivotally connected with the support pipe 12 of the main frame 10 and an upper portion pivotally connected with the first linkage 15 of the main frame 10. Preferably, the driving mechanism 30 includes a motor for driving a threaded rod, a hydraulic cylinder or a pneumatic cylinder.
[0025] In operation, referring to FIGS. 4 and 5 with reference to FIGS. 1-3, when the adjusting mechanism 40 is operated, the threaded rod 42 is driven by the actuator 41 and is rotated in the slideway 121 of the support pipe 12 of the main frame 10. At this time, the adjusting bar 22 of the rear frame 20 is limited by and cannot be rotated relative to the support pipe 12 of the main frame 10 so that the screw bore 23 of the adjusting bar 22 of the rear frame 20 is moved on the threaded rod 42 of the adjusting mechanism 40 by rotation of the threaded rod 42, and the adjusting bar 22 of the rear frame 20 is moved relative to the support pipe 12 of the main frame 10.
[0026] Optionally, when the adjusting bar 22 of the rear frame 20 is moved outward relative to the support pipe 12 of the main frame 10 from the position as shown in FIGS. 1 and 3 to the position as shown in FIGS. 4 and 5, the connecting lever 25 of the rear frame 20 is pulled downward so that the first linkage 15 of the main frame 10 is pulled downward. At the same time, the driving mechanism 30 is operated and retracted simultaneously so that the first linkage 15 of the main frame 10 is pulled downward. In such a manner, the first linkage 15 of the main frame 10 is moved downward and rearward, and the second linkage 17 of the main frame 10 is moved rearward by action of the third linkage 18. Thus, the seat 16 of the main frame 10 is moved downward and rearward, and the handlebar 171 of the main frame 10 is moved rearward as shown in FIGS. 4 and 5, so that a user can operate the exercising bike in a lying posture.
[0027] Alternatively, when the adjusting bar 22 of the rear frame 20 is moved toward the support pipe 12 of the main frame 10 from the position as shown in FIGS. 4 and 5 to the position as shown in FIGS. 1 and 3, the connecting lever 25 of the rear frame 20 is pushed upward so that the first linkage 15 of the main frame 10 is pushed upward. At the same time, the driving mechanism 30 is operated and extended simultaneously so that the first linkage 15 of the main frame 10 is pushed upward. In such a manner, the first linkage 15 of the main frame 10 is moved upward and forward, and the second linkage 17 of the main frame 10 is moved forward by action of the third linkage 18. Thus, the seat 16 of the main frame 10 is moved upward and forward, and the handlebar 171 of the main frame 10 is moved forward as shown in FIGS. 1 and 3, so that a user can operate the exercising bike in a sitting posture.
[0028] Referring to FIG. 6 with reference to FIGS. 1-3, the adjusting mechanism 40 is undefined, and the driving mechanism 30 is operated individually. Optionally, the driving mechanism 30 is retracted so that the first linkage 15 of the main frame 10 is pulled downward, and the connecting lever 25 of the rear frame 20 is pushed downward. In such a manner, the second linkage 17 of the main frame 10 is moved rearward by action of the third linkage 18. Thus, the seat 16 of the main frame 10 is moved downward and rearward, and the handlebar 171 of the main frame 10 is moved rearward as shown in FIG. 6, so that a user can operate the exercising bike in a lying posture. Alternatively, the driving mechanism 30 is extended so that the first linkage 15 of the main frame 10 is pushed upward, and the connecting lever 25 of the rear frame 20 is pulled upward. In such a manner, the second linkage 17 of the main frame 10 is moved forward by action of the third linkage 18. Thus, the seat 16 of the main frame 10 is moved upward and forward, and the handlebar 171 of the main frame 10 is moved forward as shown in FIGS. 1 and 3, so that a user can operate the exercising bike in a sitting posture.
[0029] Referring to FIG. 7 with reference to FIGS. 1-3, the driving mechanism 30 is undefined, and the adjusting mechanism 40 is operated individually. Optionally, when the adjusting bar 22 of the rear frame 20 is driven by operation of the adjusting mechanism 40 and is moved outward relative to the support pipe 12 of the main frame 10 from the position as shown in FIGS. 1 and 3 to the position as shown in FIG. 7, the connecting lever 25 of the rear frame 20 is pulled downward so that the first linkage 15 of the main frame 10 is pulled downward. In such a manner, the first linkage 15 of the main frame 10 is moved downward and rearward, and the second linkage 17 of the main frame 10 is moved rearward by action of the third linkage 18. Thus, the seat 16 of the main frame 10 is moved downward and rearward, and the handlebar 171 of the main frame 10 is moved rearward as shown in FIG. 7, so that a user can operate the exercising bike in a lying posture. Alternatively, when the adjusting bar 22 of the rear frame 20 is driven by operation of the adjusting mechanism 40 and is moved toward the support pipe 12 of the main frame 10 from the position as shown in FIG. 7 to the position as shown in FIGS. 1 and 3, the connecting lever 25 of the rear frame 20 is pushed upward so that the first linkage 15 of the main frame 10 is pushed upward. In such a manner, the first linkage 15 of the main frame 10 is moved upward and forward, and the second linkage 17 of the main frame 10 is moved forward by action of the third linkage 18. Thus, the seat 16 of the main frame 10 is moved upward and forward, and the handlebar 171 of the main frame 10 is moved forward as shown in FIGS. 1 and 3, so that a user can operate the exercising bike in a sitting posture.
[0030] Accordingly, the position of the seat 16 of the main frame 10 can be adjusted so that a user can operate the exercising bike in a sitting or lying posture, thereby enhancing the exercising effect. In addition, the roller 24 of the rear frame 20 is moved in the support pipe 12 of the main frame 10 so that the adjusting bar 22 of the rear frame 20 is moved in the support pipe 12 of the main frame 10 smoothly by guidance of the roller 24 and will not produce noise during movement. Further, the driving mechanism 30 and the adjusting mechanism 40 are selected individually to decrease the cost of fabrication.
