Inventors:  Wei-Hung Lai (Taichung City, TW)  Wei-Hung Lai (Taichung City, TW)
IPC8 Class: AA63B5500FI
USPC Class: 2063157
Class name: For a golf club golf bag including means for maintaining bag in upright position
Publication date: 2012-11-08
Patent application number: 20120279883

Abstract:

A golf stand bag includes top bag frame, a bottom bag frame, an inner bag frame hinged to the bottom bag frame and connected to the top bag frame with rod members, and support legs pivotally connected to the top bag frame and biasable to an extended position to support the golf stand bag in a tilted position when keeping the bottom bag frame firmly rested on the ground.

Claims:

1. A golf stand bag, comprising: a top bag frame, a bottom bag frame, an inner bag frame hinged to said bottom bag frame by a hinge, a plurality of rod members connected between said top bag frame and said inner bag frame, a fabric covering affixed to said top bag frame and said bottom bag frame and surrounding said rod members and said inner bag frame, two support legs pivotally connected to said top bag frame and biasable between an extended position where said support legs support the golf stand bag in a tilted position and a received position where said support legs are closely attached to said fabric covering, and supplementary spring rods for supporting said support legs in the extended position.

Description:

BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION

[0001] 1. Field of the Invention

[0002] The present invention relates to golf bags and more particularly, to a golf stand bag, which keeps the bottom bag frame thereof firmly rested on the ground when it is supported by support legs thereof in a tilted position.

[0003] 2. Description of the Related Art

[0004] A conventional golf stand bag, as shown in FIGS. 1, 2 and 3, generally comprises a top bag frame 10, a bottom bag frame 11, a plurality of rod members 12 connected between the top bag frame 10 and the bottom bag frame 11, a fabric covering 15 affixed to the top bag frame 10 and the bottom bag frame 11 around the rod members 12, two support legs 13 pivotally connected to the top bag frame 10 and biasable between an extended position where the support legs 13 support the golf stand bag in a tilted position and a received position where the support legs 13 are closely attached to the fabric covering 15, and supplementary spring rods 14 for supporting the support legs 13 in the extended position. As the rod members 12 are fixedly connected between the top bag frame 10 and the bottom bag frame 11, the bottom bag frame 11 will be kept in an inclined angle θ when extending out the support legs 13 to support the golf stand bag in a tilted position. As the bottom bag frame 11 is not horizontally rested on the ground when the support legs 13 support the golf stand bag in a tilted position, the golf stand bag may fall to the ground from the tilted position accidentally.

SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION

[0005] The present invention has been accomplished under the circumstances in view. It is one object of the present invention to provide a golf stand bag, which keeps the bottom bag frame thereof firmly rested on the ground when it is supported by support legs thereof in a tilted position.

[0006] To achieve this and other objects of the present invention, a golf stand bag includes an inner bag frame hinged to a bottom bag frame and connected to a top bag frame by rod members, and support legs pivotally connected to the top bag frame and biasable to an extended position to support the golf stand bag in a tilted position when the bottom bag frame is kept firmly rested on the ground.

BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE DRAWINGS

[0007] FIG. 1 illustrates the frame structure of a golf stand bag according to the prior art.

[0008] FIG. 2 is a perspective view of the golf stand bag according to the prior art.

[0009] FIG. 3 is a schematic drawing illustrating the golf stand bag supported in a tilted position according to the prior art.

[0010] FIG. 4 illustrates the frame structure of a golf stand bag according to the present invention.

[0011] FIG. 5 is a perspective view of the golf stand bag according to the present invention.

[0012] FIG. 6 is a schematic drawing illustrating the frame structure of the golf stand bag supported in a tilted position according to the present invention.

[0013] FIG. 7 is a schematic drawing illustrating the golf stand bag supported in a tilted position according to the present invention.

[0014] FIG. 8 illustrates the bottom bag frame of the golf stand bag according to the present invention.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE PREFERRED EMBODIMENT

[0015] Referring to FIGS. 4-8, a golf stand bag in accordance with the present invention is shown comprising a top bag frame 20, a bottom bag frame 21, an inner bag frame 26 hinged to the bottom bag frame 21 by a hinge 27, a plurality of rod members 22 connected between the top bag frame 20 and the inner bag frame 26, a fabric covering 25 affixed to the top bag frame 20 and the bottom bag frame 21 and surrounding the rod members 22 and the inner bag frame 26, two support legs 23 pivotally connected to the top bag frame 20 and biasable between an extended position where the support legs 23 support the golf stand bag in a tilted position and a received position where the support legs 23 are closely attached to the fabric covering 25, and supplementary spring rods 24 for supporting the support legs 23 in the extended position.

[0016] As shown in FIGS. 6 and 7, the inner bag frame 26 is hinged to the bottom bag frame 21 by the hinge 27. When the support legs 23 are extended out to support the golf stand bag in a tilted position, the inner bag frame 26 is biased with the rod members 22 and the top bag frame 20 relative to the bottom bag frame 21, and the bottom bag frame 21 is kept in horizontal and positively rested on the ground, and therefore the golf stand bag is stably held in the tilted position.

[0017] Although a particular embodiment of the invention has been described in detail for purposes of illustration, various modifications and enhancements may be made without departing from the spirit and scope of the invention. Accordingly, the invention is not to be limited except as by the appended claims.
