Description:

CROSS-REFERENCE TO RELATED APPLICATIONS.

[0001] This application claims the benefit of provisional patent application Ser. No. 61.462.735 Filed 2011 Feb. 8 by present inventor.

Background

Prior Art

[0002] None Found

[0003] Stay a two part device that snaps in place over shoelace knots preventing shoelaces from becoming untied. The device is to be used to prevent shoelaces from becoming untied there becoming a safety device for individuals

[0004] The device was designed to keep shoelaces in place and keep them tied at all times; The product was initially designed to be worn by children.

[0005] The device is to be used as a safe way for shoelaces not to become untied providing safety for children as well as adults preventing accidents, trips, falls, and escalator accidents. The device must be stylish and attractive not bulky, or oversized for the consumer.

[0006] Here are the criteria for the material selection for the Stay device. The material selected a polypropylene is a thermoplastic resin that holds properties of great impact securing the toughness of the materials, of a medium tensil, securing the strength and stiffness of the material.

[0007] Polypropylene comes in three main families: a homopolymer, a polymeric solution comprising of one plastic material; random co-polymer, a polymeric solution comprising of two monomers randomly configured and lastly a black co-polymer a polymeric solution comprising two monomers configured in a structured sequence.

[0008] Here are the criteria for design consideration for Stay, a two part device that snap in place over shoelaces knot to keep shoelaces from becoming untied and secured at all times. The device must provide an effective way to keep shoelaces from becoming untied.

[0009] Stay must be easy for children as well as adults to put on their shoelaces as well as take off of their shoelaces. Device must be as small as possible to not present a safety issue while still allowing device to function properly as well as stylish and attractive to the consumer.

[0010] Three designs of the device were proposed for Stay, a two part device that snaps in place over shoelace knot preventing shoelaces from becoming untied preventing accidents, trips and falls. The design material used polypropylene the most widely used material in the world accounting for one fourth of the world plastic consumption. It is opaque in appearance tough plastic can be formulated to achieve different physical and mechanical properties.

[0011] Polypropylene scrap materials can be ground up and recycled making this material an environmentally safe material for the earth therefore making this material a green product. My own patent 61.462.735 2011 meet this specification.

[0012] There are three types of closures designed, proposed, and tested. Two of the designed closures were not effective. [0013] (a) First design was a one piece device, large, bulky one piece large spring clip to hold knot in place over shoelaces. [0014] (b) Second design was a two piece device had a hinge between holding both sides together. Hinge became weak and fractured. [0015] (c) Third design a two part device that snap in place over shoelace knot without obstruction was the most secure and effective, small in size, attractive can be interchangeable, capable of closure repeatedly without incident of fracture or breaking.

SUMMARY

[0016] In accordance with my own patent 61.462.835 (2011 meet the criteria

Advantages

[0017] Accordingly several advantages of one or more aspects are as follows: to provide a secure, small in size attractive device to prevent, trips, falls, accidents, providing a two part device that snap in place over shoelace knot that keep shoelaces securely in place, easily manufactured easily colorized in any colors in the world.

[0018] Other advantages of one or more aspects will be apparent from consideration of the drawings and ensuing descriptions.

DRAWINGS

Figures

[0019] In the drawing closely related figures have different dimensions, different alphabet suffixes
