Abstract:
The purpose of this folding laptop stand will be to allow the user the
ability to work on their laptop without having the computer overheat
and/or shutdown from excessive heat. It will allow the computer's fans to
work properly and give it room to breathe and provide it with sufficient
airflow to properly cool itself and allow the processor to work at full
capacity.Claims:
1. I claim, as my invention, that this laptop stand will enable a greater
number of laptop users to use their computers more effectively and
without interruption caused by overheating. It will also alleviate the
user from the transfer of the excessive heat that emanates from a laptop
to their laps which is where most users rest their laptops when using
them.Description:
[0001] What
[0002] The purpose of this folding laptop stand will be to allow the user the ability to work on their laptop without having the computer overheat and/or shutdown from excessive heat. It will allow the computer's fans to work properly and give it room to breathe and provide it with sufficient airflow to properly cool itself and allow the processor to work at full capacity.
[0003] This apparatus will consist of a base with two folding legs with retractable shelves attached to them in order to stabilize the laptop. It will resemble an upside down bed tray and the user will be able to place the stand on his/her lap, bed or desk, etc . . . With this folding portable laptop stand, the laptop will be raised approximately 2-3 inches above the base allowing it ample room for the processor fan to operate efficiently.
[0004] The materials used to make this laptop stand will be the same material used for large metal shelving units and will have heat resistant plastic coating on it.
[0005] Why
[0006] The concept for this came about while I, a city dweller, was in bed trying to watch TV online on my laptop. The laptop continually froze because the large amount of memory and ram being used reduced the effectiveness of the processor and caused it to overheat. Therefore, I had to constantly reboot my machine and restart the programming over again only to have the same problem occur.
[0007] Unlike the other products that I have seen on the market, this item will simply elevate the laptop a few inches allowing it to breathe as opposed to having it rest on a flat surface or a fan that actually stifles the air that the computers fan should be generating, and essentially suffocating the computers processor instead of allowing it to circulate properly.
BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE DRAWING
[0008] FIG. 1 shows a mock-up of what the Folding Portable Laptop Stand will look like.
DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE DRAWING
[0009] As per the attached drawing, part number 1 represents the base of the folding portable laptop stand. It will be sized accordingly to the dimensions of the laptop.
[0010] Part number 2 represents the arms of the folding portable laptop stand. They will be approximately 2-3 inches in length, giving it ample room for the processor fan to operate efficiently. It will also alleviate the user from the transfer of the excessive heat that emanates from a laptop to their laps which is where most users rest their laptops when using them.
[0011] Part number 3 represents two retractable shelves that are attached to the arms and serve as a shelf to stabilize the laptop.
