IPC8 Class: AA47G1910FI
USPC Class: 220574
Class name: Receptacles table dish (e.g., plate, bowl, platter, etc.)
Publication date: 2012-05-03
Patent application number: 20120103999

Abstract:

The Screw System for Child Feeding consists of a Female Connector Bolt embedded within a tabletop or highchair tabletop/tray, allowing for easy and stable insertion of a Male Connector Screw. The Male Connector Screw will be attached to or molded with corresponding tableware, such as bowls and plates, to allow for a secure way to feed children without the problem of tipping of the tableware and/or spills of the food within.

Claims:

1) A Female Connector Bolt embedded within a table top or highchair table top/tray, allowing for insertion and security of a Male Connector Screw attached to or molded with respective tableware, such as a bowl or plate. A Bowl attached or molded with a Male Connector Screw, allowing for stable insertion into a Female Connector Bolt within a table or highchair top. A Plate attached or molded with'a Male Connector Screw, allowing for stable insertion into a Female Connector Bolt within a table or highchair top.

BACKGROUND OF INVENTION

[0003] There is an inherent problem in creating products used in the feeding of small children, or even the feeding of older children with younger siblings. More often than not, children take their plates and bowls, food and all, and throw them onto the floors, walls, tables, etc. This creates huge messes for parents, babysitters and daycare professionals to clean. With the invention of the Screw System for Child Feeding, this problem is alleviated.

SUMMARY OF INVENTION

[0004] This invention allows parents and professionals to actually screw the tableware (plates and bowls) into the tabletop or highchair tray, thus eliminating the possibility of small children lifting, throwing and/or dumping the tableware and subsequent food items, and significantly lessens the chance of messy food cleanups during and following meal and snack times.

BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF DRAWINGS

[0005] Drawing A depicts the side-view of the Tableware: Bowl with attached Male Connector Screw in relation to its corresponding Table Top with embedded Female Connector Bolt.

[0006] Drawing B depicts the side-view of the Tableware: Plate with attached Male Connector Screw in relation to the corresponding Highchair Table Top/Tray with embedded Female Connector Bolt.

[0007] Drawing C depicts the top view of the Female Connector Screw embedded into either the Table Top or Highchair Table Top.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF INVENTION

[0008] This invention begins with a `female` connector screw hole, made of solid plastic material to prevent rust or deterioration. This connector is then either inserted into an equal-sized drill-hole in a wooden (Or other drillable material) table and secured by epoxy or strong-bonding glue, or can be directly molded into the inside of a plastic (or other moldable material) table or highchair tray. A matching `male` connector screw, also made of solid plastic material to prevent rust and deterioration and make `dishwasher-safe,` is then either attached to, or molded into, subsequent dinnerware--consisting of bowls and plates needed to hold food for a child/children's feeding. The `male` connector screw portion will be attached or molded into the bottom of the tableware (bowls and plates), for easy, stable and level insertion into the `female` connector screw hole within the table. Both connector pieces'can be sized, in both diameter and height, to fit any table or highchair tray of any necessary construction material(s), as long as both connectors are of complimenting size to allow for easy, tight and secure fitting one into another--or male into female.
