DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION
[0022]Referring to the drawings and initially to FIGS. 1-7, a protective device for a notebook computer in accordance with the preferred embodiment of the present invention comprises a foldable and expandable support bracket 2 and a resilient protective jacket 1 removably mounted on the support bracket 2 to fold and expand in concert with the support bracket 2.
[0023]The support bracket 2 includes two support arms 21 which are used to support a notebook computer. The support bracket 2 has a surface provided with two elongate slots 22 to allow passage of the two support arms 21.
[0024]The protective jacket 1 has a size and a shape flush with that of the support bracket 2. The protective jacket 1 consists of an inner layer 15 and an outer layer 11 enclosed around the inner layer 15. The inner layer 15 of the protective jacket 1 is fully covered by and hidden in the outer layer 11 of the protective jacket 1. The inner layer 15 of the protective jacket 1 is made of an elastomeric material, such as a SBR rubber foam material and the like so that the protective jacket 1 is expandable and contractible. The outer layer 11 of the protective jacket 1 is made of a cloth, such as a high fiber cloth and the like.
[0025]The protective jacket 1 has a surface provided with two elongate through holes 111 to allow passage of the two support arms 21 of the support bracket 2. The protective jacket 1 has a periphery provided with a cloth rim 12 by sewing.
[0026]The protective jacket 1 has a first side provided with a plurality of mounting pieces 13 for mounting the support bracket 2 and a second side provided with a plurality of non-slip pads 14. The mounting pieces 13 of the protective jacket 1 are located at four corners of the protective jacket 1. The mounting pieces 13 and the non-slip pads 14 of the protective jacket 1 are located opposite relative to each other.
[0027]As shown in FIG. 5, when the support bracket 2 is bent and folded inwardly, the protective jacket 1 is also bent and folded inwardly to protect the support bracket 2.
[0028]As shown in FIGS. 6 and 7, when the support bracket 2 is expanded outwardly and disposed at an inclined angle, the support arms 21 of the support bracket 2 extend through the slots 22 of the support bracket 2 and the through holes 111 of the protective jacket 1 and protrude outwardly from the through holes 111 of the protective jacket 1 to support a notebook computer 3 (see FIG. 9). Thus, the support bracket 2 can support the notebook computer 3 in an inclined manner to provide a heat dissipation effect to the notebook computer 3. In addition, the protective jacket 1 is placed between the support bracket 2 and the notebook computer 3 to prevent the notebook computer 3 from being scratched or worn by the support bracket 2.
[0029]As shown in FIGS. 8 and 9, the protective jacket 1 is partially removed from the support bracket 2 and is expanded to have a flat shape so that the protective jacket 1 can function as a mouse mat to place a mouse 31 of the notebook computer 3.
[0030]As shown in FIGS. 10 and 11, the protective jacket 1 is removed from the support bracket 2 so that the protective jacket 1 can function as a cloth to wipe a monitor 32 of the notebook computer 3.
[0031]Accordingly, the protective jacket 1 covers the support bracket 2 completely and is placed between the support bracket 2 and the notebook computer 3 to prevent the notebook computer 3 from being scratched or worn by the support bracket 2 due to frequent friction or hit. In addition, the protective jacket 1 is partially removed from the support bracket 2 and is expanded to have a flat shape so that the protective jacket 1 can function as a mouse mat to place a mouse 31 of the notebook computer 3. Further, the protective jacket 1 is removed from the support bracket 2 so that the protective jacket 1 can function as a cloth to wipe a monitor 32 of the notebook computer 3.

[0032]Although the invention has been explained in relation to its preferred embodiment(s) as mentioned above, it is to be understood that many other possible modifications and variations can be made without departing from the scope of the present invention. It is, therefore, contemplated that the appended claim or claims will cover such modifications and variations that fall within the true scope of the invention.
