[0001]I claim priority of provisional patent application No. 61/214,134
filed on Apr. 21, 2009 entitled BandIt.
[0002]The Tennis band is used to hold tennis balls on the body while playing tennis. The band is made up of fabric which is a knit and has some stretch in the fabric so it can be worn snug against the body and when the balls are placed inside the band they do not fall out when playing tennis.
[0003]The band is worn around the hip or waist and the width of the band is from 8 to 10 wide and depending on the hip or waist size you would buy the band to fit your size. The band comes in children's sizes as well as adult sizes. Depending on the stretch of the fabric the width of the band will be adjusted so balls are held securely in place.
[0004]You would wear the band and fold it in half on the body so the balls will stay in place. The band is made on the double and then also folded in half when worn on the body. In addition, the fabric is prewashed and preshrunk.
THE BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
[0005]When you are playing tennis the constant bending over and standing up to pick up additional balls to practice or play tennis limits how you would play the game. This tennis band, The BANDIT, lets you easily have easy access to another ball as you Serve, or volleying or actually playing an active game of tennis. You can hold from one extra ball to up to 13 balls.
DESCRIPTION OF DRAWINGS
[0006]FIG. 1a Flat drawing of the BandIt. The measurements for a size Medium Adult are illustrated. Item is made for all sizes and is made in a stretchable fabric with the item being cut 16 inches×28 inches. The grain line of the fabric would run A to B. This would allow the item to stretch around the body and then the fabric would stretch back to accommodate the balls being placed inside the band. The fabric must have good elasticity in order for it to return to its original shape and conform to the human body to hold the balls in place.
[0007]The fabric for the band can either be made in a tubular form for each size or it can be made flat and then a seam would be required to turn the 28 inch band flat into a 28 inch band around or measured flat it would measure 14 inches for a size medium adult.
[0008]FIG. 1b Fold in half and put C to A and D to B and stitch from AC to BD Height of the Band is reduced from 16 inches to 8 inches finished.
[0009]FIG. 1c Fold in half and put together AC to BD and stitch along rawedges the band is now tubular 28 inches or flat 14 inches measured.
[0010]FIG. 1d Drawing of tubular band measuring flat 14 inch×8 inch
[0011]FIG. 1e Shows band folded from 8 inches to 4 inches to hold the balls in place
