BACKGROUND
[0004]Dogs enjoy retrieving balls thrown by their families. After a few throws and retrievals, arms become tired and balls become sheathed in dog saliva. Consequently, many dogs and their owners have started using devices such as the Chuck It® to make the throw/retrieval game more pleasurable. The Chuck It® and other similar devices are spoon-like, having a place to hold a tennis-type like ball and a lever. Such a device is shown in FIG. 1 as 41.
[0005]Although devices like the Chuck It® have made the throw/retrieval game more pleasurable, it has also caused logistic problems for the user. For example, if using the Chuck It®, or other similar device, any distance from the family home or car, the user will be required to hold on to a leash and carry the Chuck It®, or other similar device, at least one ball, and perhaps keys, wallet, an identification card, credit card, cash, and/or pepper spray in hand. One can see how this can become problematic as the user has only two hands and the dog cannot be trusted to carry more valuable items or its leash.
[0006]The current invention solves these problems. It is a belt-like device that can be worn over the user's shoulder and comprises a means to hold at least one Chuck It® or other similar device and a plurality of compartments that can be used to carry at least one tennis-type ball and other valuables.
BRIEF SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION
[0007]A belt-like device that can be worn over the user's shoulder and comprises a means to hold at least one Chuck It® or other similar device, and a plurality of compartments that can be used to carry at least one tennis-type ball and other valuables.
BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE SEVERAL VIEWS OF THE DRAWINGS
[0008]Other features and advantages of the present invention will become apparent in the following detailed descriptions of the preferred embodiment with reference to the accompanying drawings, of which:
[0009]FIG. 1 is a view in a perspective of the current invention;
[0010]FIG. 2A is a perspective view showing a hook and loop system that may be used to adjust the length of current invention;
[0011]FIG. 2B is a perspective view showing a male and female end buckling system that may be used to adjust the length of the current invention;
[0012]FIG. 3 is a perspective view of how the current invention in the preferred embodiment.
DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION
[0013]The present invention is described more fully hereinafter with reference to the accompanying drawings, in which preferred embodiments of the invention are shown. This invention may, however, be embodied in many different forms and should not be construed as limited to the embodiments set for herein; rather, these embodiments are provided so that this disclosure will be thorough and complete and will fully convey the scope of the invention to those skilled in the art.
[0014]FIG. 1 shows a dog toy carrying belt, the Fling Sling, identified in general by the reference numeral 10. The Fling Sling 10 is worn on the body. In the preferred embodiment it is worn over a shoulder. However, the Fling Sling can also be worn around the waist, an arm, a leg or any other body part a belt could be attached to.
[0015]The Fling Sling 10 comprises a means to adjust its length 20 to comfortably fit over the chosen body part, a plurality of compartments 30, at least one elastic band 40, and padding 50. In the preferred embodiment the means to adjust size 20 comprises a hook and loop system 21, such as Velcro®. However, the means to adjust size can also comprise a male and female end buckling system 22 which allows the users to secure the Fling Sling in place and adjust the length of the belt, among others. FIGS. 2A and 2B show how a hook and loop system 21 and a male and female end buckling system 22 may be used to adjust the length of the Fling Sling.
[0016]At least one elastic band 40 is of a size that securely holds at least one Chuck It® 41 or other similar ball throwing device. The padding 50 is adjustable so that if the Fling Sling is worn over the shoulder, it provides chapping and weight relief.
[0017]In the preferred embodiment, at least one compartment 31 is made from a web-type material and is large enough to hold at least one tennis-type ball. The preferred embodiment also comprises at least a second compartment 32 large enough to hold at least a set of keys, excrement collecting bag(s), pepper spray, credit card(s), identification card(s), and/or cash, among others. Each compartment has a means to secure the compartment in a closed position 33. In the preferred embodiment the means to secure the compartment is the closed position 33 comprises a hook and loop system, such as Velcro®. However, the means to secure the compartment in the closed position 33 can also comprise at least one snap, zipper, and/or button, or a combination of such closing devices, among others. FIG. 3 shows how the Spring Fling, in its preferred embodiment, will look when worn by the user.
