Abstract:
Disclosed herein is a multiple overlapping method and apparatus of a band
or a shoulder strap by using a length-adjustment buckle and a fixing
ring. A length of the band or the shoulder strap can be reduced to
one-third or one-fourth of the longest length.Claims:
1. A multiple overlapping method for adjusting a length of a band or a
shoulder strap which includes a length-adjustment buckle having a main
frame provided with a space and an auxiliary frame fixed to the main
frame across the space of the main frame to divide the space into a first
coupling space and a second coupling space, fixing rings provided with a
space, and a string, comprising the steps of:connecting a first end of
the string fixedly to one of the fixing rings;passing a second end of the
string through the first coupling space and the second coupling space of
the length-adjustment buckle, the string hanging on the auxiliary frame
of the length-adjustment buckle;drawing the second end of the string up
to the other fixing ring and passing the second end of the string through
the space provided at the other fixing ring;drawing the second end of the
string up to the length-adjustment buckle and passing the second end of
the string through the first coupling space and the second coupling space
of the length-adjustment buckle, the string hanging in duplicate on the
auxiliary frame of the length-adjustment buckle; anddrawing the second
end of the string again up to the other fixing ring, passing the second
end of the string through the space provided at the other fixing ring,
and fixing the second end of the string to another portion of the string
which comes into contact with the second end of the string.
2. The method according to claim 1, wherein the second end of the string is fixed to another portion of the string contacting the second end by buttons which are detachably attached to each other.
3. A multiple overlapping method for adjusting a length of a band or a shoulder strap which includes a length-adjustment buckle having a main frame provided with a space and an auxiliary frame fixed to the main frame across the space of the main frame to divide the space into a first coupling space and a second coupling space, fixing rings provided with a space, and a string, comprising the steps of:connecting a first end of the string fixedly to one of the fixing rings;passing a second end of the string through the first coupling space and the second coupling space of the length-adjustment buckle, the string hanging on the auxiliary frame of the length-adjustment buckle;drawing the second end of the string up to the other fixing ring and passing the second end of the string through the space provided at the other fixing ring;drawing the second end of the string up to the length-adjustment buckle and passing the second end of the string through the first coupling space and the second coupling space of the length-adjustment buckle, the string hanging in duplicate on the auxiliary frame of the length-adjustment buckle;drawing the second end of the string again up to the other fixing ring and passing the second end of the string through the space provided at the other fixing ring; anddrawing the second end of the string again up to the length-adjustment buckle, passing the second end of the string through the first coupling space and the second coupling space of the length-adjustment buckle, the string hanging in triplicate on the auxiliary frame of the length-adjustment buckle, and fixing the second end of the string to another portion of the string which comes into contact with the second end of the string.
4. The method according to claim 3, wherein the second end of the string is fixed to another portion of the string contacting the second end by buttons which are detachably attached to each other.
5. A multiple overlapping apparatus of a band or a shoulder strap having a string, being characterized in that:an end of the string is fixed to another portion of the string contacting the end of the string by buttons which are detachably attached to each other or velcro tapes.
Description:
TECHNICAL FIELD
[0001]The present invention relates to a multiple overlapping method and apparatus of a band or a shoulder strap, and more particularly to a multiple overlapping method and apparatus of a band or a shoulder strap which can reduce a length of the band or the shoulder strap to one-third or one-fourth of the longest length.
BACKGROUND ART
[0002]Generally, a band is defined as means for fixing or holding an article, and a shoulder strap is defined as means for suspending an article on a shoulder. However, a band may be adapted to a bag to function as a shoulder strap, and a shoulder strap may be used for holding an article to function as a band. In other words, a common purpose of the band and the shoulder strap is to fix and hold an article. There are two kinds of bands or shoulder straps, one that has no necessity of adjusting a length and one that has necessity of adjusting a length. Most length-adjustable bands or shoulder straps include a length-adjustment buckle which has a rectangle frame and a median rod, and a fixing ring which is provided with a space by which an end of the band or the shoulder strap is caught. Such a length-adjustment mechanism allows the band or the shoulder strap to be adjusted in length by a double-overlapping method.
[0003]The length-adjustable band or shoulder strap is used for various purposes. FIG. 2 is a constitutional view illustrating components of a conventional length-adjustable band or shoulder strap, and FIG. 4 is a front view illustrating a bag to which a shoulder strap having a conventional double overlapping structure is adapted. As shown in the drawings, a shoulder strap is coupled to a bag 40 so that a user can carry the bag 40 on her/his shoulder. The conventional shoulder strap includes: a length-adjustment buckle 20 which has a hollow main frame 21 provided with a space, and an auxiliary frame 22 extending across the space of the main frame 21 to divide the space into a first coupling space 23 and a second coupling space 24; a fixing ring 10a to 10d provided with a space; and a string 30. The string 30 is coupled to the length-adjustment buckle 20 and the fixing ring 10a in a double overlapping structure so as to be adjusted in length.
[0004]FIGS. 3a, 3b, 3c and 3d are views illustrating a conventional double overlapping process of a band or a shoulder strap. Firstly, referring to FIG. 3a, an end (hereinafter, which will be called a first end) of the string 30 is connected to a fixing ring 10c (see FIG. 2). As shown in FIG. 3b, the other end (hereinafter, which will be called a second end) of the string 30 passes through the first coupling space 23 of the length-adjustment buckle 20, and then passes through the second coupling space 24, so that the string 30 hangs on the auxiliary frame 22 fixed to the main frame 21 across the space.
[0005]As shown in FIG. 3c, after passing through first and second coupling spaces 23 and 24 of the length-adjustment buckle 20, the second end of the string 30 passes through a space provided at a fixing ring 10b (see FIG. 2). As shown in FIG. 3d, the second end of the string 30 passing through the space of the fixing ring 10b is drawn up to the length-adjustment buckle 20. Afterwards, the second end of the string 30 passes again through the first coupling space 23 of the length-adjustment buckle 20, and then passes through the second coupling space 24, so that the string 30 hangs in duplicate on the auxiliary frame 22. The second end of the string 30 passing through the second coupling space 24 is sewn on another portion of the string 30, so that the second end portion of the string 30 is fixed to the auxiliary frame 22. Accordingly, a portion of the string 30 which is positioned between the length-adjustment buckle 20 and the fixing ring 10b is double overlapped. As a result, a user can adjust the overall length of the shoulder strap according to the user's desire by adjusting the length of the double-overlapped portion of the string 30.
[0006]The length of the band or the shoulder strap depends on the usage purposes. For example, the length of the band for fixing an article is decided by a size of the article. The length of the shoulder strap for holding a bag is varied according to the fashion, or according to the types of bag, e.g., men's bags and women's bags. There are a permanent fixing type that the both ends of the shoulder strap is permanently fixed to a bag, a mounting/demounting type that the both ends of the shoulder strap are demountably mounted to a bag by using the fixing ring 10b, 10c and 10d, an one-end open type that one end of the shoulder strap is demountably mounted to a bag by using the fixing ring 10b, 10c and 10d and the other end is permanently fixed to a bag, and a duplex adjustment type that the shoulder strap equipped with a pair of double overlapping structures is mounted to a bag.
[0007]However, the conventional band or shoulder strap having the above double overlapping structure has a shortcoming that it has a limitation of the length adjusting range when the length of the band or shoulder strap is adjusted to the shortest. This problem causes the following inconvenience in use. For example, in women's bags, the longest length of the shoulder strap which can be adjusted by using the length-adjustment buckle 20 and the fixing ring 10 is generally set to be a length such that the bag is located near the woman's thigh when she suspends the shoulder strap on her shoulder. From the longest length of the shoulder strap, although adjusting the length to the shortest by adjusting the length of the double-overlapped portion of the string 30 by using the length-adjustment buckle 20, the bag is located near her waist. Thus, because the bag swings when she walks, portability is deteriorated.
[0008]Recently, according to the types (which are classified by sizes or usage purposes) of bag, there is an occasion that a strap configured to be worn at the user's waist is provided at the bag. However, the conventional strap cannot be adjusted in length short enough to be worn at the user's waist. Thus, there is an inconvenience in use that the user should separately purchase two different kinds of straps for carrying the bag on her shoulder and carrying the bag at her waist. Also, because the conventional band having the double overlapping structure has a limitation in adjusting the length, when the conventional band is used for tightly holding a suitcase, the user should separately purchase different kinds of bands adequate for a relatively big suitcase and a relatively small suitcase, respectively. In the case that the conventional band is used for trousers, because the conventional band has a limitation in adjusting the length, there is an inconvenience in use that the user should separately purchase different kinds of bands adequate for children's trousers and adult's trousers, respectively.
DISCLOSURE

[0009]Therefore, the present invention has been made in view of the above problems, and it is an object of the present invention to provide a multiple overlapping method and apparatus of a band or a shoulder strap which can adjust a length of the band or the shoulder strap to the maximum almost equal to the longest length of the band or the shoulder strap having the conventional double overlapping structure and can reduce the length of the band or the shoulder strap to one-third or one-fourth of the longest length.
[Technical Solution]
[0010]In accordance with an aspect of the present invention, the above and other objects can be accomplished by the provision of a multiple overlapping method for adjusting a length of a band or a shoulder strap which includes a length-adjustment buckle having a main frame provided with a space and an auxiliary frame fixed to the main frame across the space of the main frame to divide the space into a first coupling space and a second coupling space, fixing rings provided with a space, and a string, comprising the steps of: connecting a first end of the string fixedly to one of the fixing rings; passing a second end of the string through the first coupling space and the second coupling space of the length-adjustment buckle, the string hanging on the auxiliary frame of the length-adjustment buckle; drawing the second end of the string up to the other fixing ring and passing the second end of the string through the space provided at the other fixing ring; drawing the second end of the string up to the length-adjustment buckle and passing the second end of the string through the first coupling space and the second coupling space of the length-adjustment buckle, the string hanging in duplicate on the auxiliary frame of the length-adjustment buckle; and drawing the second end of the string again up to the other fixing ring, passing the second end of the string through the space provided at the other fixing ring, and fixing the second end of the string to another portion of the string which comes into contact with the second end of the string.

[0012]In accordance with another aspect of the present invention, the above and other objects can be accomplished by the provision of a multiple overlapping method for adjusting a length of a band or a shoulder strap which includes a length-adjustment buckle having a main frame provided with a space and an auxiliary frame fixed to the main frame across the space of the main frame to divide the space into a first coupling space and a second coupling space, fixing rings provided with a space, and a string, comprising the steps of: connecting a first end of the string fixedly to one of the fixing rings; passing a second end of the string through the first coupling space and the second coupling space of the length-adjustment buckle, the string hanging on the auxiliary frame of the length-adjustment buckle; drawing the second end of the string up to the other fixing ring and passing the second end of the string through the space provided at the other fixing ring; drawing the second end of the string up to the length-adjustment buckle and passing the second end of the string through the first coupling space and the second coupling space of the length-adjustment buckle, the string hanging in duplicate on the auxiliary frame of the length-adjustment buckle; drawing the second end of the string again up to the other fixing ring and passing the second end of the string through the space provided at the other fixing ring; and drawing the second end of the string again up to the length-adjustment buckle, passing the second end of the string through the first coupling space and the second coupling space of the length-adjustment buckle, the string hanging in triplicate on the auxiliary frame of the length-adjustment buckle, and fixing the second end of the string to another portion of the string which comes into contact with the second end of the string.

[0031]Now, preferred embodiments of the present invention will be described in detail with reference to the annexed drawings.
[0032]FIG. 5 is a constitutional view illustrating a band or a shoulder strap having a triple overlapping structure in accordance with an exemplary embodiment of the present invention, and FIGS. 6a, 6b, 6c, 6d and 6e are views illustrating a triple overlapping process of a band or a shoulder strap in accordance with an exemplary embodiment of the present invention. As shown in the drawings, the band or the shoulder strap according to the present invention includes: a length-adjustment buckle 120 which has a hollow main frame 121 provided with a space, and an auxiliary frame 122 fixed to the main frame 121 across the space of the main frame 121 to divide the space into a first coupling space 123 and a second coupling space 124; fixing rings 110b and 110c provided with a space; and a string 130. A triple overlapping method for adjusting the length of the band or the shoulder strap of the present invention will now be described. Firstly, referring to FIG. 6a, a first end of the string 130 is fixedly connected to the fixing ring 110c disposed at one side at step S10. As shown in FIG. 6b, a second end of the string 130 passes through the first coupling space 123 of the length-adjustment buckle 120, and then passes through the second coupling space 124 at step S20, so that the string 130 hangs on the auxiliary frame 122 fixed to the main frame 121 across the coupling space. After the string 130 hangs on the auxiliary frame 122 fixed to the main frame 121 of the length-adjustment buckle 120 across the coupling space, as shown in FIG. 6c, the second end of the string 130 is drawn up to the fixing ring 110b disposed at the other side and passes through the space provided at the fixing ring 110b at step S30, so that the string 130 hangs on the fixing ring 110b. As shown in FIG. 6d, the second end of the string 130 passing through the space of the fixing ring 110b is drawn up to the length-adjustment buckle 120. Afterwards, the second end of the string 130 passes again through the first coupling space 123 of the length-adjustment buckle 120, and then passes through the second coupling space 124 at step S40, so that the string 130 hangs in duplicate on the auxiliary frame 122 of the length-adjustment buckle 120.
[0033]As shown in FIG. 6e, the second end of the string 130 which is double-overlapped on the auxiliary frame 122 of the length-adjustment buckle 120 is drawn again up to the fixing ring 110b disposed at the other side, and passes again through the space of the fixing ring 110b. And, the second end of the string 130 passing through the space of the fixing ring 110b is fixed to another portion of the string 130 which comes into contact with the second end of the string 130 at step S50. As a result, the triple overlapping process of the band or the shoulder strap is completed.
[0034]FIG. 6f is a front view illustrating a fixing structure of the second end of the string 130 and another portion of the string 130 which comes into contact with the second end of the string 130 in step S50. In the conventional double overlapping type band or shoulder strap, because the fixing structure of the second end of the string and another portion of the string contacting the second end is not important, the second end of the string has been permanently fixed to another portion of the string by a method of sewing or the like (refer to FIG. 3d). However, in the multiple (double, triple, quadruple or more) overlapping type band or shoulder strap according to the present invention, the second end of the string 130 is detachably attached to another portion of the string 130 contacting the second end, so that the user can modify the band or the shoulder strap into a double, triple, quadruple or more overlapping form according to the usage purpose. To this end, in this embodiment of the present invention, a button member 150 including a male button 151 and a female button 152, which are detachably attached to each other, is used. For example, the female button 152 is provided at the second end of the string 130 and the male button 151 is provided at another portion of the string 130 opposite to the female button 152, however, this is not restricted thereto (velcro tapes may be used). Such a fixing method of the string 130 using attachment/detachment means is important to the present invention. If the user intends to modify the band or the shoulder strap into a double overlapping form, the user may follow the double overlapping process illustrated in FIGS. 3a, 3b, 3c and 3d. If the user intends to modify the band or the shoulder strap into a triple overlapping form, the user may follow the triple overlapping process illustrated in FIGS. 6a, 6b, 6c, 6d and 6e. If the user intends to modify the band or the shoulder strap into a quadruple overlapping form, the user may follow the quadruple overlapping process illustrated in FIGS. 9a, 9b, 9c, 9d, 9e and 9f. Of course, the modification of the band or the shoulder strap into a multiple (more than quadruple) overlapping form can be achieved by repeating the above process.
[0035]FIG. 3e is a front view illustrating the modification of the band or the shoulder strap into the double overlapping form by the string fixing method using the attachment/detachment means, FIG. 6f is a front view illustrating the modification of the band or the shoulder strap into the triple overlapping form by the string fixing method using the attachment/detachment means, and FIG. 9g is a front view illustrating the modification of the band or the shoulder strap into the quadruple overlapping form by the string fixing method using the attachment/detachment means. FIG. 7 is a front view illustrating a bag 140 to which the band or the shoulder strap having the triple overlapping structure according to the present invention is adapted. In this embodiment, the fixing ring 110c (see FIG. 5) is removed, and the first end of the band or the shoulder strap is directly connected to the bag 140. In connecting the band or the shoulder strap to the bag 140 or other articles, many kinds of fixing rings including the illustrated fixing rings 110a, 110b, 110c and 110d may be used.
[0036]FIG. 8 is a constitutional view illustrating the band or the shoulder strap having the quadruple overlapping structure according to the present invention, and FIGS. 9a, 9b, 9c, 9d, 9e and 9f are views illustrating a quadruple overlapping process of the band or the shoulder strap according to the present invention. As shown in the drawings, the band or the shoulder strap according to the present invention includes: a length-adjustment buckle 220 which has a hollow main frame 221 provided with a space, and an auxiliary frame 222 fixed to the main frame 221 across the space of the main frame 221 to divide the space into a first coupling space 223 and a second coupling space 224; fixing rings 210b and 210c provided with a space; and a string 230. A quadruple overlapping method for adjusting the length of the band or the shoulder strap of the present invention will now be described. Firstly, referring to FIG. 9a, a first end of the string 230 is fixedly connected to the fixing ring 210c disposed at one side at step S110. As shown in FIG. 9b, a second end of the string 230 passes through the first coupling space 223 of the length-adjustment buckle 220, and then passes through the second coupling space 224 at step S120, so that the string 230 hangs on the auxiliary frame 222 fixed to the main frame 221 across the coupling space. After the string 230 hangs on the auxiliary frame 222 of the length-adjustment buckle 220, as shown in FIG. 9c, the second end of the string 230 is drawn up to the fixing ring 210b disposed at the other side and passes through the space provided at the fixing ring 210b at step S130, so that the string 230 hangs on the fixing ring 210b. As shown in FIG. 9d, the second end of the string 230 passing through the space of the fixing ring 210b is drawn up to the length-adjustment buckle 220. Afterwards, the second end of the string 230 passes again through the first coupling space 223 of the length-adjustment buckle 220, and then passes through the second coupling space 224 at step S140, so that the string 230 hangs in duplicate on the auxiliary frame 222 of the length-adjustment buckle 220.
[0037]As shown in FIG. 9e, the second end of the string 230 which is double-overlapped on the auxiliary frame 222 of the length-adjustment buckle 220 is drawn again up to the fixing ring 210b disposed at the other side, and passes again through the space of the fixing ring 210b at step S150, so that the string 230 hangs in duplicate on the fixing ring 210b. As shown in FIG. 9f, the second end of the string 230 passing through the space of the fixing ring 210b is drawn again up to the length-adjustment buckle 220. Afterwards, the second end of the string 230 passes again through the first coupling space 223 of the length-adjustment buckle 220, and then passes through the second coupling space 224, so that the string 230 hangs in triplicate on the auxiliary frame 222 of the length-adjustment buckle 220. And, the second end of the string 230 passing through the second coupling space 224 of the length-adjustment buckle 220 is fixed to another portion of the string 230 which comes into contact with the second end of the string 230 at step S160.
[0038]FIG. 10 is a front view illustrating a bag 240 to which the band or the shoulder strap having the quadruple overlapping structure according to the present invention is adapted. In this embodiment, the fixing ring 210c is removed, and the first end of the band or the shoulder strap is directly connected to the bag 240. In connecting the band or the shoulder strap to the bag 240 or other articles, many kinds of fixing rings including the illustrated fixing rings 210a, 210b, 210c and 210d may be used.
[0039]Hereinafter, a difference between the longest length and the shortest length when triple overlapping and quadruple overlapping the band or the shoulder strap will be described. FIG. 11 is a picture showing the band or the shoulder strap having the multiple overlapping structure of the present invention when the band or the shoulder strap is adjusted in the longest length, and FIG. 12 is a picture showing the band or the shoulder strap having the multiple overlapping structure of the present invention when the band or the shoulder strap is adjusted in the shortest length. In FIG. 11, the band or the shoulder strap located at a top position is one having the conventional double overlapping structure, the band or the shoulder strap located at a middle position is one having the triple overlapping structure of the present invention, and the band or the shoulder strap located at a bottom position is one having the quadruple overlapping structure of the present invention.
[0040]As shown in FIG. 11, the longest lengths of the respective bands or shoulder straps are almost similar, and there is little difference according to the number of times of overlapping. However, because a difference between the longest length of the band or shoulder strap having the conventional double overlapping structure and the longest length of the band or shoulder strap having the multiple overlapping structure of the present invention is very little, the user can use the band or the shoulder strap of the present invention in the longest state similarly to the band or the shoulder strap having the conventional double overlapping structure.
[0041]In FIG. 12, the band or the shoulder strap located at a top position is one having the conventional double overlapping structure, the band or the shoulder strap located at a middle position is one having the triple overlapping structure of the present invention, and the band or the shoulder strap located at a bottom position is one having the quadruple overlapping structure of the present invention. As shown in FIG. 12, the shortest length of the band or the shoulder strap having the triple overlapping structure of the present invention can be decreased by one third of the shortest length of the band or the shoulder strap having the conventional double overlapping structure, and the shortest length of the band or the shoulder strap having the quadruple overlapping structure of the present invention can be decreased by one half of the shortest length of the band or the shoulder strap having the conventional double overlapping structure. The reason of the large difference between the shortest lengths is that as the number of times of overlapping the string is increased (triple, quadruple, . . . ), the length of the band or the shoulder strap is decreased. Accordingly, by adjusting the length of the band or the shoulder strap by the triple or quadruple overlapping method of the present invention, the user becomes able to use the band or the shoulder strap for various purposes.

[0042]As apparent from the above description, according to the present invention, in fixing an end of the band or the shoulder strap when adjusting the length of the band or the shoulder strap, the end of the band or the shoulder strap can be fixed by using selectively the detachably attaching method and the permanently fixing method. Especially, when using the detachably attaching method, the user can widely adjust the length of the band or the shoulder strap according to the usage purposes, thereby increasing the convenience in use. Further, the length of the band or the shoulder strap can be decreased to one-third or one-fourth of the longest length, so that the user can suspend the strap on her/his shoulder and wear the strap at her/his waist as needed. Even when the user suspends the strap on her/his shoulder, because the length of the strap can be reduced to such an extent that an article like a bag is positioned near the shoulder, the portability is increased. In other words, the user can conveniently use the band or the shoulder strap by adjusting the length of the band or the shoulder strap adequately for the kinds, sizes and usage purposes of the article like the bag. Also, in the case of tightly holding a suitcase, the band according to the present invention can be adjusted in length adequate for a relatively small suitcase as well as a relatively large suitcase. Also, regardless of children's trousers or adult's trousers, the band or the shoulder strap of the present invention can be used for suspenders.
