rom a foamed polyurethane to have a plurality of
relatively shallow and small pores distributed over an outer surface
thereof, and is provided on or between the shallow and small pores with a
plurality of staggered and relatively deep and large holes resembling
seawater corroded holes. Each of the relatively deep and large holes is
internally provided at a bottom with a deeper and size-reduced hole,
which do not extend through the bath sponge. Therefore, the bath sponge
not only has an appearance like a natural sponge, but also has structural
strength, breaking resistance, water absorbing ability, and softness
better than both the natural sponge and other general types of bath
sponge.Claims:
1. A bath sponge, comprising a body formed from a foamed polyurethane
(PU), the body having a plurality of relatively shallow and small pores
distributed over an outer surface thereof, and a plurality of staggered
and relatively deep and large holes resembling seawater corroded holes
provided on or between the shallow and small pores, and each of the
relatively deep and large holes being internally provided at a bottom
with a deeper and size-reduced hole having a diameter smaller than the
deep and large holes.
2. The bath sponge as claimed in claim 1, wherein the staggered and relatively deep and large holes and the deeper and size-reduced holes provided at the bottom thereof do not extend through a full thickness of the body of the bath sponge.Description:
FIELD OF THE INVENTION
[0001]The present invention relates to a bath sponge, and more particularly to a bath sponge that not only has a beautiful appearance like a natural sponge, but also has structural strength, breaking resistance, water absorbing ability, and softness better than both the natural sponge and other general types of bath sponge.
BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
[0002]FIG. 1 shows a conventional bath sponge 10, which is generally formed from foamed polyurethane (PU), and has only relatively shallow and small pores 11 distributed over an outer surface thereof. When the conventional bath sponge 10 is used in bath, the shallow and small pores 11 do not allow the outer surface of sponge 10 to deform at a large deflection angle. Therefore, the conventional bath sponge 10 is relatively rigid and uncomfortable for use, and has limited water absorbing and discharging ability without producing a large amount of bubbles and effective cleaning effect.
[0003]While natural sponge is soft and provides good water absorbing ability, and therefore has been collected from deep sea for use, the natural sponge is rare and expensive and could not be mass produced. Moreover, the natural sponge has a bad odor and is not easily widely accepted by consumers. The natural sponge has pores that normally extend through a full thickness of the sponge. Due to this structure, the water-absorbed natural sponge becomes too soft and thin for use. Meanwhile, the large-scale collection of the natural sponge would endanger the natural ecological balance in the ocean.
[0004]Therefore, it is tried by the inventor to develop a bath sponge that resembles the natural sponge in appearance but has structural strength, breaking resistance, water absorbing ability, and softness better than the natural sponge.
SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION
[0005]A primary object of the present invention is to provide an improved bath sponge that not only has a beautiful appearance like a natural sponge, but also has structural strength, breaking resistance, water absorbing ability, and softness better than both the natural sponge and other general types of bath sponge.
[0006]To achieve the above and other objects, the bath sponge of the present invention is formed from a foamed polyurethane to have a plurality of relatively shallow and small pores distributed over an outer surface thereof, and is provided on or between the shallow and small pores with a plurality of staggered and relatively deep and large holes resembling seawater corroded holes. Moreover, each of the relatively deep and large holes is internally provided at a bottom with a deeper and size-reduced hole, which does not extend through the bath sponge.
BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE DRAWINGS
[0007]The structure and the technical means adopted by the present invention to achieve the above and other objects can be best understood by referring to the following detailed description of the preferred embodiments and the accompanying drawings, wherein
[0008]FIG. 1 is a perspective view of a conventional bath sponge;
[0009]FIG. 2 is a perspective view of a bath sponge according to the present invention;
[0010]FIG. 3 is a fragmentary enlarged view of FIG. 2;
[0011]FIG. 4 is a fragmentary sectional view showing an internal structure of the bath sponge of the present invention; and
[0012]FIG. 5 is a fragmentary sectional view showing the deflection at an outer surface of the bath sponge of the present invention.
DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE PREFERRED EMBODIMENTS
[0013]Please refer to FIG. 2 that is a perspective view of a bath sponge 1 according to an embodiment of the present invention. The bath sponge 1 is formed by foaming polyurethane (PU), so that there is a plurality of relatively shallow and small pores 11 distributed over an outer surface of the bath sponge 1. Then, through special design, a plurality of staggered and relatively deep and large holes 12 resembling seawater corroded holes are formed on or between the shallow and small pores 11, as can be clearly seen from FIGS. 2 and 3. It is noted each of the deep and large holes 12 is internally provided at a bottom with a deeper and size-reduced hole 121, as shown in FIG. 4. As shown, the deeper and size-reduced holes 121 do not extend through a full thickness of the bath sponge 1, so that the bath sponge 1 not only has sufficient structural strength and breaking resistance to be more durable for use, but also provides improved water absorbing and discharging ability.
[0014]With the relatively deep and large holes 12 staggered on or between the relatively shallow and small pores 11, the outer surface of the bath sponge 1 having been wetted for use can be more easily deformed at a large deflection angle, as shown in FIG. 5. In other words, the outer surface of the wetted bath sponge 1 is softer and more comfortable for use compared to the conventional bath sponge 10 shown in FIG. 1.
[0015]The deeper and size-reduced holes 121 at the bottom of the relatively deep and large holes 12 provide the bath sponge 1 with improved water absorbing and discharging ability, so that water and bath lotion may move into the bath sponge 1 more easily to enable enhanced cleaning effect.
Claims:
1. A bath sponge, comprising a body formed from a foamed polyurethane
