Abstract

y conceived discloses a protective semi-permanent liner for various types of clothing that are susceptible to dirt and premature aging; however, it can be disposable, comprising a peel-off tab to expose an adhesive, or ironed on to adhere to clothing. The liner is used as a shield for collar areas and cuff areas on shirts, brim areas on hats, the underarm area on blouses, shifts, dresses and the like, to protect from perspiration stains, yellowing, dirt and the like. The liner is envisioned to comprise a roll or pad format and available in multiple colors to blend with various wardrobes, and further comprising a cotton-like pad for user comfort. When the liner becomes exceptionally dirty, it would be removed and replaced with a new one.

BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION

[0005]It is common knowledge that the more an article of clothing is washed, the faster it fades and begins to show signs of ware. There are many times that the only reason an article of clothing must be washed for simple dirt around the collar, cuff, or underarm area. If the article of clothing must be dry-cleaned such as with a business suit or dress, there can be a relatively large cost for dry-cleaning. The cost factor is further exaggerated when the clothing has to be replaced, when exceedingly worn, due to frequent washing or cleaning. Additionally, many types of clothing such as silks do not offer the level of absorption needed to keep a person feeling fresh and dry during the day. Accordingly, there is a need for a means to protect delicate fabrics from the effects of sweat and perspiration as well as extend the time between washing or dry-cleaning of garments that are not soiled. The development of the Garment Protectors fulfills this need.

BRIEF SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION

Further the objective of the invention is to help consumers save on relatively large costs for dry-cleaning, and new purchasing cost of delicate fabrics. The development of the Garment Protectors fulfills this need.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION

[0011]The liner is semi-permanent, but disposable and comes with a peel-off tab to expose an adhesive surface, or iron-on that adheres to the clothing. The liner is used as a shield for collar areas and cuff areas on shirts, brim areas on hats, and possible the underarm area on blouses, shirts, dresses and the like, to protect from perspiration stains, yellowing, dirt and the like. The liner is envisioned to be provided in a roll or pad format and would be provided with either a peel-off tab to expose an adhesive surface that adheres to the clothing or an iron adhesive. The liner is envisioned to be made available in multiple colors to blend with various wardrobes, and would consist of a padded cotton-like pad for user comfort. When the liner becomes exceptionally dirty, it would be removed and replaced with a new one. The use of the Garment Protectors allows one to protect delicate clothing as well as delay the time between cleaning and dry-cleaning, thus further extending the useful life of the clothing.

[0012]Picture the Garment Protector worn on the inside cuff of a shirt where as the adhesive or Velcro® backing is firmly press against the shirt cuff in other words adhesive or Velcro® backing is not seen in this figure, the indicator line number 10 is pointing to the face side of the Garment Protector which comprises of a full complete side of the soft cotton-like pad component only for the users comfort. Which is designed to absorb dirt, grease, oily skin and the like around the wrist area.

Installation of the Garment liner is done in the same way as indicated in FIG. 1a. Firmly press against collar with only the face side soft cotton component exposed for user comfort. Remember Garment Protectors are disposable and can be replace with a new one.
